I Have Ported My Number To....

Recommended Posts

With MNP finally being introduced tonight, I am starting this topic for the benefit of everyone on the forum, to get back feedbacks from people who have "already ported".

You can post your feedbacks in this format (add some more if you like, but this should be bare minimum) -

----------------------------------

I have PORTED my existing (name of service provider) (GSM/CDMA) number XX123456XX to (name of new service provider) (GSM/CDMA)

(e.g. I have PORTED my existing Reliance CDMA number 93584XXXXX to Idea GSM)

Reasons for Porting -

Grievances with existing Service provider -

Benefits that I see of the new service provider -

Porting Experience - (mention time taken to port from first sms etc.)

Any other important comment -

-------------------------------

Kindly participate en-mass and spread the joy of the wonderful new world of MNP....

EDIT-

A sincere request - On the basis of feedback received from other senior members, I would request all to be as brief as possible and avoid posting unnecessary stuff and dont make this topic loose its prime motto..... Thanks all for your co-operation and understanding...

Eagerly waiting for the first ported customer to share his/ her experience. I agree, if one goes by govt rules, today people should find their numbers ported. Please share your experience about donors, recipients and the intermediary.

I am applied for MNP for my Tata Indicom CDMA number 9249736222 to MTS CDMA on 22/01/2011.

Tata indicom (Kerala circle)- poor coverage, per minute billing with daily rental, no good offers, allmost all true value hubs and true value shops are closed for ever, recharge coupons/ easy charging are not available any where except a very few shops in major cities - even the true value shops/hubs does not have recharge coupons. Existing true value hub/shop people behaves like government office to customers.

MTS - good covarage, good offers with per second billing like 1/2 paisa per second , 60,000 second local calls for Rs. 199/- , recharge coupons are available everywhere, new MTS exclusive stores are coming everywhere with satisfactory customer experience.

Got an SMS today that my number will port to MTS with in the period from 27-JAN-2011 2203 hours to 28-JAN-2011 0003 hours

:previous:

My dear friend, you're really taken for a ride.

If your porting process is greater than 7 days it's just illegal and the operator needs to be punished.

Prepaid takes less time and postpaid takes more time is totally unacceptable. It clearly shows that the operator is purposefully delaying the post-paid port out.

He has security deposit against which he can claim your incremental(after your last month's bill payment) usage?

What else is the difference?

Please highlight such issues to TRAI/DoT/Telecom Minister. It'll take not more than 5-10 minutes of your time.

Let us be very patient till the prescribed time(7 days from port-in request at recipient operator) but equally impatient immediately after that.

Don't subscribe yourself to our national attitude of "It'll happen when it has to happen..........I'll keep waiting & reminding him with soft words........"

It's time for TRAI to make an amendment which penalize the operator of Rs. 50 per day delay and such amount to be credited into subscriber's recipient operator's account.

This will act as a incentive for subscriber to be vigilant and which in turn bring order into the MNP system.

My friend was in Airtel post-paid in TN and he submitted his application to port out to Vodafone on 21st.

Today he got confirmatory sms from Vodafone - 'Hello! Your porting request xxxxxxx dated 28th Jan11 has been approved by your current operator. We will communicate the porting date and time shortly'
