Audiobooks

Recommended Posts

“There is no friend as loyal as a book.”

I am sure we all are into reading... but with busier lifestyles, it gets difficult to make time for reading...

The best solution I found to this was audiobook, especially while I drive to work and back

And I love it so much, that sometimes I secretly pray for more and more traffic, taking me longer to reach home allowing more time to listen,,

The book publishers too have realised this upcoming trend and more and more books are getting published with audio versions. However, unlike ebook versions, they are not available for free yet.

What I propose is for like minded interested people to come together and make collaborative purchases. Would anyone be interested?

I am a member at reado.com and have recently purchased one book. I thought if instead of individuals, if groups of peiple come together and purchase, it would be win win for everyone.

We would purchase original instead of pirated and at the same time share the costs.

What say, any takers?

The next set of books that I intend to purchase would be

Jaya, by Devdutt Patnaik,

dongri to dubai &byculla to bangkok by hussain zaidi

Reply/pm if anyone interested in collaborative buying

I have been listening to audio books or audio (except music) since years. I use pirated books though.

Even I enjoyed audio books tremendously for 2-3 years when I had a 1 hour + drive to office everyday.

Bombay traffic would honk so much behind me as I was never in a hurry to reach anywhere.

Have stopped since I shifted to location adjacent to office.

Only feasible option now is probably headphones while cycling/jogging. Maybe I'll revive it by listening to audio books instead of music.

I have a lot of audio books but most are from torrents as at that time the rates were much more than printed books or ebooks. Just bought 2-3 which were too arcane to be anywhere.

How much do these cost nowadays ?
