How to reuse HTC EVO with different number after transfer of connection

Recommended Posts

I have a HTC EVO on Reliance number AAA. Recently, I bought another Samsung CDMA phone with micro-sim card in it, went to Reliance web world, bought a sim card, got the number AAA activated on new phone. Now the HTC EVO is not active.

How can I reuse this phone for another number? This not a SIM based phone !

Thanks

-PK

Steps:

1. Check the RSN status of EVO by sending SMS : GETSTAT MeidOfEVO to 53737

  • If Meid status is lost or stolen, make a sad face , go to WW from where you got number transferred... tell him/her - " Yo retard, release my RSN"
  • If Meid status comes back something like "Will work with HCC/GSK bla bla", make a happy face :w00t: , proceed to next step.

2. If you already have a number for transferring it to EVO, Good, otherwise get a new number on RUIM from WW.

3. Get that new number retained on EVO via web world or use HCC to transfer it.

4. Activate EVDO sending SMS or use Reliance InstaCare App

5. Help others.

Thank you for a wonderful explanation. I've to see what the web world guy had put as the reason for transferring the number to the new sim card :(

My bad, I should have checked it then. I did not realize the implications :((
