Query about Moto G

Recommended Posts

Hello RIMweb.in forumers,

I am an existing Reliance CDMA customer and I am planning to purchase Moto G along with Zero Plan (for 24 months).

But the only thing that is bothering me there is the phone's specification says 3 way conferencing call is disabled.

I went through this forum and it seemed it is possible to make conference calls even after they have said it is disabled.

Sorry to say, but I failed to understand the instructions on, how to make a conference call, i found around here. So could someone please explain step-wise, in proper detail, of how does it happen?

I will not buy the phone if conference calls are not possible, because it is very much mandatory for me.

I saw specifications of a few other phones on shop.rcom.co.in/, Samsung devices also say 3 way conferencing is disabled, but none of the HTC devices mention it. So, have they missed to mention, or it supports conference calling?

Also, why does Reliance say to not upgrade the Android version? Does this conference thing have anything to do with the OS installed?

Thank You.

Three way conference would work following the standard method... it is a little irritating but works.

Adding calls from the dialer menu does not work, hence they have mentioned its disabled.

the handset you intend to buy are imported from US. They have been specifically programmed for reliance. If you upgrade rom (which I guess would be blocked) than the default settings would go away, and you would need to program again.

Hope this helps

You might want to consider buying Moto X from the forum here (which is ruim based) if your budget permits. I dont think there is a significant difference in price.

I will think of Moto X.

And, you mean upgrading the ROM will block Reliance CDMA on my phone?

Also, what about HTC phones? They haven't mentioned about conference disabled in there, so what is the true picture?

And from what I understand, you need to add the number (3rd one to be added in conference) with the name "3", right? I could find a quick solution for it.

Blocking is not the right word

when you upgrade, reliance specific parameters would be lost

you can program them again using this thread... but its technical so venture only if you confident.

Conference on all smart phones work in the same manner

Okay.

And about conference, on current Samsung CDMA phone, which wasn't purchased from Reliance has an option to dial the 3rd number while keeping the 2nd on hold. And after calling the 3rd, I just have to merge.

So is that the way?

yes

merge by dialling 3 and pressing call button

How to use (CDMA) bullet-grey-small.gif Call the first person and wait until the call is connected. bullet-grey-small.gif Put the call on hold by pressing the call key. bullet-grey-small.gif Dial the second call. bullet-grey-small.gif Wait until the second call gets connected. bullet-grey-small.gif Once the second call gets connected, you have following options: bullet-grey-small.gif Swap between the calls: Press 2 + cell.jpgcall key. bullet-grey-small.gif Drop the person you just dialled and connect to the one on hold: Press 1 + cell.jpgcall key. bullet-grey-small.gif Establish a three-way conference: Press 3 + cell.jpgcall key. bullet-grey-small.gif Once a conference has been set up, you cannot split the participants into two separate calls, until one of them disconnects.

I will be making the purchase tomorrow or day after, assuming I will be able to make conference calls. So is this surely gonna work?
