MICROMAX CANVAS 5.....CDMA?

Hi guys ,

Can anybody confirm MICROMAX Canvas 5 recently launched in INDIA considering that it is having MT6735 chipset supports CDMA .

This is because technically the chipset - MT6735 manufactured by MediaTek is called "world-mode" chipset supporting CDMA .

Already written to Micromax team ..they have not responded till date.

Do revert !!

Their official website shows it supports only GSM+WCDMA+LTE (WCDMA represents 3G GSM). There is no CDMA+EVDO.

its MT6753 not MT6735.....!!

but still has evdo cdma connectivity but not confirmed by micromax

As far as I am aware, the Canvas 5 does not support CDMA network. The world mode is switched off like the Gionee phones on this one also.

I tried contacting micromax , however there was no response , actually many Chinese made phones in India on the same chipset come with the CDMA option turned off ex- GIONEE F-103, though it is supported in other regions.

Your help / may be a little experimentation in this regard , since you may be well connected will be of great help .This is because micromax has earlier given support for CDMA NETWORKS

seems that world mode is turned off in Micromax Canvas 5 and Gionee Marathon 5. Any custom ROM to turn on them on worldmode?

I am sure the world mode was deliberately switched OFF just to avoid patent issues or to be precise, to avoid paying royalty to qualcomm..
