  1. Greetings! I currently have a Moto X 2013 XT1056 Sprint model on Reliance CDMA, with voice & data working via a RECR06 series SIM cut to size. The current software is Kitkat 4.4.2 - System version 161.44.32. I want to update it to Lollipop 5.1 - System version 212.144.2 from post #25 on this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/sprint-finally-rolling-lollipop-to-moto-t3245774/page3 Using this process: https://www.reddit.com/r/MotoX/comments/3xbguj/moto_x_2013_update_to_lollipop_51_sprint_xt1056/ Could someone more knowledgeable with the process advise whether this would work, or is there something else I need to keep in mind as well? Also, how to update the PRL & Profile as mentioned in step 4 in the above process from Reddit? Thanks, Jp
  2. I've also managed to find the original Sprint images for Moto X XT1056: https://androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=44728 https://yadi.sk/d/MCliEyCPfj7ZZ/MOTO.X1/XT1056 (from the XDA thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4824706) I believe these contain the latest official Sprint version for Lollipop 5.1 (222.26.10): https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/94927/p/30,6720,8696 But again, still need some expert level guidance from the gurus before going ahead. Thanks, Jp
  3. I also found another thread on XDA to update the Moto X Sprint XT1056 to a newer version of Lollipop 222.21.15 by using the retail ROM from another variant XT1053: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-unlock-sim-flash-retail-lollipop-t3236783 The guide is more detailed & seems more exhaustive. But again, not sure whether I need to do anything else specific to Reliance CDMA. The latest Lollipop release for Sprint Moto X XT1056 is 222.26.10: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/94927/p/30,6720,8696 However, it doesn't appear to be available as a download anywhere. I'm currently in full stock & trying out new OTA's as incremental updates is another option. Not sure however, whther Reliance CDMA needs any additional step(s), or which option (incremental OTA/XT1053 Retail ROM/XT1056 5.1 OTA) would be the best way forward. Please advise. Thanks, Jp
  4. Hi Hejmady, Did the recharge take place? How long did it take? Thanks, Jp
  5. Reliance CDMA Network Issue in Moto G & Moto X

There's also the Prefixer app which does the same job if somehow the internal system settings don't work. Jp
  6. Got an XTC Clip S-OFF done & flashed the Chinese ICS ROM. The only tricky/scary part was overwriting the HBOOT manually to the partition, since flashing Froyo didn't revert the HBOOT for me. The rest was easy, although confusing & time consuming. I must say, it looks & feels like a new phone. Totally worth the bother. Downloaded & flashed Chinese ICS ROM version 4.08.1401.3 from the link given by Kapil ji on second page. It failed to boot the first time. Flashed it again & it worked. Then flashed the modified version 4.08.1401.5 (without Chinese content) plus Google Apps from XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693033. Just loving it! Jp
  7. Kapil ji, 'if' one gets the phone S-OFF with XTC Clip, then is this the ROM which needs to be flashed? This seems to be 446MB, while in an earlier port you said 470MB... Could you please advise which CT ICS ROM to download 'if' I get XTC Clip from somewhere. Thanks, Jp
  8. Krishna ji, any luck with getting ICS to work on Inc 2 with working CDMA data? Thanks, Jp
  9. HTC Incredible 2 - Removing Chinese App, Notifications & Dialer

There is an extra period (.) at the end of the URL given by Kapil ji in post # 43 above. Remove it & you're good to go... Just open the link given by Kapil ji in post # 43 above. It will show an error. Just modify the URL & remove the period (.) at the end. It will download... Enjoy... :-)
  10. Hi hitdig, Have you got EVDO activated on your number? Cheers, Jp
  11. Smart Solutions - DIY

Mr. Genius, tum jiyo hazaaron saal... :-P Had the same problem on my Droid Incredible 2 running China Telecom ROM. Worked like a charm, but only after clicking on the link from the phone. Scanning the bar code/QR code from monitor or creating manual didn't work. Really awesome! A zillion thanks! :-D
  12. Steps for Converting HTC Incredible 2 into OMH Handset

By the way guys, apart from the CDMA RUIM/GSM SIM slot which can accomodate either, what is so special about this phone (Incredible 2) which makes this the only handset which can accept any SIM/RUIM in India - CDMA or GSM. Is it the fact that China Telecom use the same phone in China & have developed a ROM for it which supports the same parameters for CDMA APN as the ones used in India by Reliance/Tata/MTS? If we forget dual CDMA/GSM capability & just take into account the CDMA capability, is it just the APN capability (with PPP phone number option) which decides whether any foreign CDMA phone can be used on India CDMA networks with working data?
  13. I visited Amritsar last week. No Broadband+ signal on my Huawei EC1262. I had to make do with 1x. :-(
  14. Turn Your Laptop Into Wifi Hot Spot

Also, Ad-Hoc connections are highly dependent on the drivers for the WiFi card provided by the manufacturer. Intel is very unreliable in that are. Ad-Hoc mode works very rarely on Intel WiFi cards.
  15. For Incredible 2, the ROM provided by parin works perfectly fine, but I didn't like the overwhelming presence of chinese apps & the absence of google apps. So I used an older version of the chinese ROM (2.13 as compared to the 3.06 above) from which the chinese apps had been removed & google apps already added. the version numbers 2.13 & 3.06 are internal chinese ROM version numbers, otherwise both ROMS are at Android 2.3.4. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1162156 So far so good. :-)
  16. HTC Incredible 2 Battery Status Indicator

By default, the Incredible 2 uses a 1500 mAh battery. By using an 1800mAh battery, you might be upsetting the phone's calculations of how much empty or full the battery is w.r.t 1500 mAh. Full charge of 1800 mAh would be reported as 120% :-o Just a thought. :-P
  17. On the RCom.co.in website, on the page with vouchers information, earlier it used to be written that you can't recharge unlimited vouchers till you have validity in other vouchers remaining & vice versa. But can't find that information there now. :-(
  18. Still, would be nice to have... And that would be the next frontier for 'smart' phones... :-)
  19. EVDO Reactivation / Shifting To New Device

So for RUIM based handsets, do we still need to follow the advice, or can we safely ignore this?
  20. Mobile internet packs are for use on handset only. Maybe you could extend this to the PC/Laptop by USB tethering. PC internet packs are for use on PC/Laptop. Don't think these would work on the handset. Not really sure how Reliance enforces that distinction though. Or whether there is a way to beat it. ;-)
  21. Appeal To Reliance For Data Plans

    Signed. Petition # 628.
  22. Steps for Converting HTC Incredible 2 into OMH Handset

Thanks Hetal ji... The attached ROM works, but there are too many included chinese apps. And no google apps. So I used the following ROM from XDA forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1162156 Although it's an older version of the same chinese ROM (2.13 as compared to 3.06 in this thread), still it's ok & works like normal out of the box. I just have one question: If I need to get this SIM unlocked for GSM, can I do that & then switch to CDMA with the chinese ROM. In that case, would I be able to switch between CDMA & GSM by just changing SIM/RUIM? Or is there some other way to ensure both CDMA & GSM compatibility with same or different ROM's.
