  2. Sprint Samsung Epic 4G - The Beast Is Here!

I know this topic has been beaten to death in all sections of this forum, but had to ask someone!! Had gone to Web World today and asked them about internet plans because I don't mind paying as long as its a reasonable amount... They said there is a plan for 299 with unlimited usage and no NUC charges, but which can be activated only through R world... Is it possible? If yes, how do we access it on our Epic? And has anyone subscribed to this?
  3. Sprint Samsung Epic 4G - The Beast Is Here!

Tried that.. The username and password screens keeps popping up! Apparently this is a problem which is faced on Galaxy S by others also.. it should work.. on mine its working fine since i got Epic without any problem. u need to specify the proxy server address and port. if those are fine, then when u open browser, it will immediately ask for proxy username & password. check/follow the steps: 1 open wireless & networks > Wi-fi settings 2. press menu button and go to advanced 3. click on proxy and enter proxy server ip address. pls confirm you enter correct address 4. then click on Port and enter port address as per your proxy server. (you may have to ask your admin for this) 5. then click on menu button and click on save. 6. return to home menu 7. start browser and it should ask for proxy username and password. 8. proxy username and password and click OK or enter.. it will take you to home page. also make sure that you are getting proper IP address from wifi router. just touch the wifi network from the list and you will get details like, network name, signal strength and IP address. if your admin has blocked some IP or allow only specified MAC address to access then it can be a problem.

Guys, I am trying to access the Wifi at my workplace. However, it needs a proxy plus username and password. The problem is that the phone is not accepting the username and password, plus there seem to be no settings in the browsers to browse through proxy? Any suggestions to bypass this?

So I guess, its safer to stick to Eclair till a more stable version comes out, right?
  6. MNP Retention Offer You Received

I sent a porting sms and got my code... Today, after three days, got a call from Reliance asking me why do I wanna shift!! I had no valid reason since I am on DAPO, but still told them that its because of your data charges and the fact that my bill has been coming to around 1400 every month.. He immediately offered me a discount of 100 Rs. per month for the next six months so that I stay on with Reliance. I have confirmed the same to him, but since my office pays for my bills, it doesn't really make a difference to me!! I am thinking I should have asked for pizza for the next six months :Contento: :Contento:
  7. Sprint Samsung Epic 4G - The Beast Is Here!

Guys, a new problem has cropped up... I have searched everywhere for solution, but apparently the only way is to do a hard reset!! I forgot my pattern and after trying a lot of times, the phone locked asking for my google username and password. Inspite of entering the right username and password, it refuses to accept the same! Has anyone else faced this problem and if yes, the solution please? I don't wanna do a hard reset even though everything is backed up...
  8. Sprint Samsung Epic 4G - The Beast Is Here!

After some searches, following is what I have got 1) Cleared the cache and even checked the website you suggested Dhiraj, but that is with regards to updates... Here, my market downloads the application, but while installing it starts and then gets back to the same error. In the downloads section of the market, it shows as uninstalled!!! 2) Same issue 3) Point taken 4) I searched and apparently a lot of people are facing this problem. A possible fix is suggested as updating the Gmail application, but since my market is giving me problems, it doesn't seem feasible. Honestly, I donno which ROM I am on. It was the one which I got on my new phone from Hitesh. The other things, I still have to check out, but the market thing is kinda getting annoying now...

Thanks dude.. That was a good read to be honest! Also, have installed "Battery left". Not too great in my opinion since it is hardly accurate...

Yes Sirs... Gonna do the searches soon!
  11. Sprint Samsung Epic 4G - The Beast Is Here!

Well, I donno if anyone else is facing these problems or not... But I definitely am and its quite pissing off!! 1) My Android market is not installing any applications/games, etc. It downloads the same and when I say install, I get a message, "A manual update is required" 2) Sometimes, the market does not even download the applications which causes further problems! 3) Can someone please tell me how to install applications on the SD card.. All that space, and can't be used to install!! Phone memory gets full, which results in the phone getting slow! 4) Any attachment in my mail can only be previewed. Further now, every time I preview, I get a message saying, " An SD card is required to view the attachment". I have checked more than once and my card is well mounted with it visible in Linda Manager, etc. For my mail purposes, I use the inbuilt Gmail application. 5)Can someone tell me how to uninstall the default Sprint applications installed... 6) Also, if we use the system updates setting, is that alright or can it cause problems since we don't use Sprint? 7) Battery of course doesn't last for more than 3/4th of a day with full data, but as Dhiraj said... these phones are to be used as laptops. Keep charging when not using. Lot of queries, I know.. But some solutions as well please!

Best option would be to buy on ebay international and use GEB. It takes time, but you get good deals...
  13. Congratulations Sadikk!! That is really awesome!!
  14. All ROMs In One Post!

Hitesh bhai, the Mighty ROM 5 that you have uploaded under TP/Diamond... is it compatible with Touch Pro for sure? Since I can't see it on Mighty's site, I thought I'll ask...
  15. Amit, the items in your signature are quite enticing... Are they also available as free give aways
  16. Your Latest Hardware Purchase

From a hardware topic, this seems to have become a printer topic!!
  17. Maybe, I always find Chrome very light to use and especially if you are a Google user, works good... Had used Firefox pehle, guess should use it again considering itne acche reviews de rahe ho aap log!!
  18. Chrome is anyday the best browser... However, Microsoft just has an advantage since they bundle the same with their OS which ensures more people end up using it! Lets hope that IE9 does something different rather than just trying to catch up!!!

  21. Sprint Htc Touch Pro - Problems & Solutions

Na, I didn't mean it that way.. Have used a lot of 6.5 ROMS. What I meant was how does this ROM perform in comparison to ROMS like Mighty ROM 6.5, etc.? Battery life, performance etc.
  22. Sprint Htc Touch Pro - Problems & Solutions

Hey Vishal, if you could elaborate on why you think its good?
  23. Congratulations Sadikk!! Though no one has suggested this so far, you can check out Tarkarli. I had been there in January, its about two hours before Goa.. Beautiful place! For a honeymoon and understanding that you both would wanna spend time with each other, its perfect. The only thing is that you should preferably have your own car to go there...
