Sarvesh,
That is good information, which I wasn't aware that it was documented in TRAI's site. Thanks for sharing!
Like most of us here, I've been with them morons for over 13 years and have lost track of how much of my money is with them.

Hey that was the same good experience I had with the porting procedure too!
It's been 4 days in my case. Just to make sure RComm doesn't mess it with the port-out, I tweeted the request number (UCSXXXXXX) and they confirmed that it's in process and there won't be any problem, but it would take 7 days. So another 3 more days.
If they don't mess up anywhere, then I'm good to go. More over all my bills are clear!
Others,
I've got a question for you.
What about all the deposit amount that RComm kept holding from our side, like advance-plan-migration charges, ISD deposit etc.
Is that all a write off???

Hi Ayaz, did the MNP go through smoothly from RCom to Jio? I guess it's been more than 7 days in your case. Just curious to know if MNP is working well between the two.
Thanks!

You cannot port out for next 90 days once the deadline is over. I guess that is 16 August for many circles.
But you can terminate your connection or change it to prepaid any time. For the same, no need to call cc. Visit reliance mobile store. Also you can only migrate to existing tariff plans obviously.
For others, other than high usage data plans, has RCom changed the existing CDMA plans after 4G migration ? I am from Mumbai circle and I am still billed for my existing CDMA plan (Magic 900 with 50% off)Thanks for the reply.
I'm from Bangalore, Karnataka.
My plan is 399 Voice + 2 GB of Data and the additional Rs. 246 for 5GB.
I'll visit the reliance mobile store today and will update.
Thanks!

Guys, I need some direction.
I called up the morons this morning and asked them to stop my "data plans" as of now and retain only voice plans so that they don't keep billing me wrongly for data.
The Customer Exec says, they won't be able to do any changes to my data as we're the 4G customers.
I asked him if I can totally stop using RCOM, he says I can't do that either.
What a pathetic situation.
Can you please lemme know what is the best thing that I should be doing?
Thanks, Vinay.

Well I guess even TRAI isn't responding on the petition.
If so, we will have to draft a petition against TRAI or get some of the powerful leaders like Mr. Subramanyam Swamy to take charge of these scammers.

In Bangalore, at places where there is no network, my phone keeps registering on Aircel, which I understand that they are merging up soon.
But I also see my phone registering on Tata Indicom as well. Is there something going on with them as well?

Guys, did anybody receive any communication about the billing adjustment from RCom?
For the last 2 months I'm also paying for my data plan though it is shut down an left us on 2G, which is like stone age and no one uses it.
We should be definitely getting this money adjusted in the subsequent billing cycles.
Please confirm if you have any info about it.
Thanks!

CC guy says SIM needs to be patched (software upgrade in CC's words) whereas Web world guy says 4G migration not completed;.4G data speed will be available after 25 July. Can anyone shed some light? Which is correct?
Same here Arun, I'm from Bangalore as well. I inserted the new 4G SIM in my HTC One E8 Dual Sim model and am receiving only 2G.
A word on this SIM patching: Can any one tell us whether my HTC One E8 Dual Sim supports 4G when they start the services?
And would the Reliance Store guys would do the SIM patching for us?
Thanks!

Below listed handsets support Evdo-rev. B:-
1. Htc desire 816 dual sim.
2. Htc one e8.
3. Htc one 802d dual sim.
I am using Htc desire 816 and have attached speed test screen shot.
I have never experienced such a great speed even in airtel 4g in bangalore. Airtel 4g gives max speed upto 10 mbps.Reliance cdma rev B is giving max upto 12.36 mbps.I have recharged with 4999 plan and downloaded more than 200 gb till date, no fup truely unlimited. Thanks to reliance.
Hello Sameer,
It's been a while since we spoke about the speeds in Bangalore.
Are you still getting the same 12.36 mbps kind of speed even now?
Cuz, I've been checking the speed lately and it doesn't seem to exceed 3 mbps at all.
Is there a setting I'm missing on my phone?
Can you please check from your end and post the result?
Thanks,
Vinay
Hi vinay,
I have been facing same speed issue since last 50 days. frequently call drop and not even getting a good signal, only 1x everytime and unable to browse net. called to customer care so many times, but no any response from their side. 5 days before I got a call from mumbai regarding these issues. A technician came to my place and resolved all the issues. Now I am getting the same good speed. These technician would visit every tower and as early as possible you would also get the good speed.
Thanks for confirming that Sameer,
I'm following up very closely with the Customer Service guys.
The Mumbai team called me up and collected additional info from me, but they closed the ticket saying my phone (even alternative number) was not reachable.
I'm not letting them go so easily... Been creating more and more SR tickets.
Will update once I'm good!

The Reliance CDMA signals in Mahadevapura area (work-place) in Bangalore (East) are so bad.
Network bars in phone keep flickering, EvDo becomes 1X, and we don't get incoming/outgoing calls and SMS.
The moment I leave this Mahadevapura tower and reach near KR Puram area, I get all signals and get all the sms that were queued up due to bad coverage.
Due to this the battery is getting discharged like crazy.
More Network Details:
Network Strength: -84 dBm * 14 ASU (keeps flickering badly)
Cell : 772 or 584 or 761 (Station ID)
This has been happening for the past one month.
I called up the customer care jokers and lodged complaint, they said they've been working on the issue, but no resolution yet.
Has anyone been facing this issue?
I am seeing intermittent issues as you described at Nagawara too (Near Manyata Tech Park). Lasts for 1-2 hours and it happened around 3 times in the last 2-3 weeks. I really like Reliance CDMA, I hope they fix all these issues.
I hope so too!
There's an SR I've raised with them and am following-up on a regular basis so that they don't close it without my knowledge.
At least, unlike other operators, Reliance has their technical team working on it.
The network seems to be getting better now.
Will observe more and update the thread on the progress.

Guys,
Is there a good Dual SIM CDMA phone with the below requirement in HTC's Desire or One line-up?
Slot-1 : CDMA - EvDo must work.
Slot-2: GSM - 3G must work (unlike in the E8, which supports only EDGE in Slot-2).
If not HTC, any other suggestions are also most welcome.
Thanks,
Vinay

Hi vinay,
In bangalore, where did you get reliance cdma nano sim??
Hey Sameer,
I live near Chandra Layout, Vijayanagar area. I found a newly opened reliance store here on the Nagarbhavi main road around Moodalapalya area.
Got this guy's number who runs this place.
His name is Pasha. PM me in case you need his number.
-
Hi Everybody! Your messages have provided me valuable insights. Shall visit a Reliance Store soon to change my SIM card. (Am using an old one cut to fit the nano slot in my HTC Desire 816 dual sim.)
One problem: Sending HSD to 55444 leads to this text being sent to you: Dear Customer, Incorrect request entered. Please contact Customer Service on *333."
EvDo-rev.B is in evidence. But speed droops to 1x or connectivity is lost entirely. Any thoughts on this?
That may be because of your SIM being a non-OMH. But on a newly provided nano-SIM one should get this message from 52811, post which the phone needs a restart:
Dear Customer, Your request for EVDO Service Activation has been completed successfully.
Enjoy high speed data services on your number.

Pro 3 is available in Bombay but only on dongle for now.

On 1st nov I visited mumbai. I was getting rev b network in my htc desire 816 and speed upto 5-6 mbps. Here in bangalore I am getting 8-10 mbps..
Sameer,
I bought a HTC One E8 recently.
I'm not able to get the connections rightly.
The data gets connected and keeps dropping in sometime and it says - "Disconnected because service is unavailable".
Also, connection is always on 1X and EV symbol shows up, but without connectivity.
Could you please be able to help me rectifying the connection issue?
Would highly appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Vinay
Hi vinay,
1. Have you activated EVDO on your sim? if not then please get it activated first by creating a request through reliance insta care app. This is the best way to get it activated within 48 hrs. Rev b is here in bangalore, so go to setting--About--network--mobile network type and check network, it should be type of EvDo-rev A or EvDo-rev B. if it is there then your area is covered under EvDo.
2. If EvDo is already activated then please check your sim type. in bangalore, reliance web world is providing old pattern type sim, which is not compatible for smartphones. please replace your sim card with new pattern.
Thanks a ton Sameer for your reply,
On point 1, EvDo services are active on my SIM, and I checked the Mobile Network Type in the About section. It is EvDo-rev.B.
On point 2, I will now have to check the SIM type; as you rightly mentioned, it is a very old SIM which I started using from my older phone (cut into nano size).
Will get it replaced asap and get back to you with the results.
But, as you also mentioned -
reliance web world is providing old pattern type sim, which is not compatible for smartphones. please replace your sim card with new pattern.Would reliance web world issue the new pattern sim card to me? Or how do I go about it?
Many thanks,
Vinay
Hi vinay,
It means problem is with your sim card. Just replace with new one. last year in bangalore, reliance world provided even micro sim. But since 6 months they are providing only old pattern sim which does not work in any smartphone for data. only one excuse, "they have some supply issue in bangalore". Even i thought to port my no. but one of my friend from chandigarh provide me new blank micro sim card and I am enjoying best data speed.
Hey Sameer,
My phone now works like a gun! Many thanks to you to have guided me towards the SIM change. Yep, I got myself an OMH nano-sim, there was no problem with the supply too.
And one last thing that I did was - Sent the message "HSD" to 55444, and I no more see 1X speed nor the 1X symbol on my phone... It's only Ev now.
Couple of best things that I observed:
- Speed - no doubt I second your speed tests posted in the below post.
- I turn off data during nights... The next morning when I turn it on, the data is connected within fraction of a second and I have all my incoming items flowing in. This never happens to me with Airtel 3G.
I'm gonna have my Airtel 3G disconnected.
- Thanks again!
