  1. I am facing a unique issue on my Mifi device. My number on Mifi device seems to have speeds throttling by Jio. Even though I have downloaded very less data in the last few days. I checked with a friend's Jio number and he was getting 20-25 Mbps speeds at my home while I was getting only speeds less than 200-300 Kbps. How is this possible?

Any solution how to go about solving this?

Have no experience with HR1400. But HR3400 is working fine.

I received the HR3400 today but no amount of settings could make it work as a repeater with JIO Mifi2 though it is working with other wifi connections. The customer care of the company also tried for 1 hour on the phone and eventually said some IP issue/filter or mac filter or some kind of access control.

How did you get it working??? What IP settings etc. Please post a detailed reply.

I am presently using Digisol HR3400 in repeater mode with my Wind4. Working quite well. It permits assigning a different SSID to the repeater so devices can specifically connect to the repeater.

Thanks. Could you possibly give me a step by step guide to put it in repeater mode? The price is quite reasonable (999/-) and if this works covering my entire 2 storied house, this will be a great buy.

  4. Purchased JioFi2 yesterday @2899/- Activated in 2 Hours. Wife using unlimited voice on old Note 2 via JioJoin. I am downloading continuous data. Speeds fluctuating between 13~25Mbps here in Meerut. Torrent was downloading @1.5MB/s yesterday (15Mbps). 3GB movie downloaded in about 20~25 minute. Voice interconnect is a slight issue. Called unlimited to Airtel Delhi, Airtel Chennai/Vellore, Idea UPW, Reliance Haryana etc without issues.

Now just need a proper range extender to make my experience complete.

  5. I tried to put my rcdma sim in my friends rn3 in the sim one tray

It does not catch the cdma signal

    Any 1 throw light

I want to buy the phone today for cdma till the time it is not shutting down

It needs to be left alone for sometime and then it should catch signals. If still it doesn't then either the sim is not of the proper RECR series or the phone needs a hard reset.

  6. ^ After activation, it should. But the big question is whose? It's Jio for 4G, that is clear. But if it's Reliance GSM for 2G/3G it will be pathetic. I think they might be converting their existing CDMA EVDO towers to LTE compatible 3G or something similar.

Edit - Some birdie tells me that data might work only on 4G LTE enabled handsets and not on normal 3G handsets. Those can only be used for voice. So lots of confusion. Let things settle down.

The amount taken per sim is Rs. 25/- (sim cost) + 97/- for 4G Recharge which includes UNLIMITED local and std Reliance calls + 150 minutes of Local & STD calls + 1GB Data for 30 days. These benefits start immediately on existing CDMA sim/number. It is a modern pre-cut sim which you can use in any phone (no need to get it cut from outside). Then you need to sms 4G<space><19 digit 4G sim number> to 1299 from existing cdma sim and you will get a confirmatory message that Dear Customer, your request for 4G upgrade has been registered on SIM <number>. We will update you regarding upgrade. Thank you. RCOM.

Please note that the 4G sim is yet NOT ACTIVATED and you can't use it. They are saying that it should be activated max by 5th May. After activation you get an additional 10GB 4G data for one month besides the above benefits.

So that is the exercise till now.

    Cheers...

  8. Hi all,

Got redmi note 3 16gb and it is working with all CDMA sim Reliance, tata and MTS out of box..getting Rev b and everything normal..only one issue I am facing the moment I click on play store, it says unable to communicate with google server. Try resetting 2-3 times but nothing happened. Kindly help me on this issue??

Try doing factory reset and trying again only on wifi without sim. It will connect with Google Play. You might also need to update to latest system update, but after that data goes off usually on Reliance CDMA.

  9. For a normal user, don't u think 16/2 gb is good enough?

Quite good enough. The new MIUI is so well interfaced that no lags are noticed even with around 70-80 apps installed.

As an alternative one can go for Lenovo k4 Note which is 3GB memory and 16GB storage with dedicated memory expansion slot and dedicated SIM slots.
How many times do I need to repeat that K4 Note does NOT support VoIP and hence useless for Jio. Many people are using both sims along with memory card on RN3. Search YouTube videos as to how to do it.

Also a cheap Mediatek chipset based phone can never parallel Qualcomm based one.

  10. Isn't the SAR value on higher side?

The SAR calculation is not so simple and differs from country to country and is different as per testing procedure type.

The SAR LImit in India for mobile devices is 1.6W/kg. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. Like for e.g. SAR value for Moto G on LTE Band 7 is 1.069W/kg but on GSM 900Mhz is 0.905W/kg whereas Moto E has an average of 1.02W/kg whereas Asus Zenfone 2 has an average FCC rated figure of about 0.92W/kg. But the same phones CE rated SAR value is 0.351W/kg. Some specifications test at 10mm from the body whereas some test at 15mm from the body. During use, the actual SAR value is usually much below these stated values because the phone automatically decreases full power when not needed for system efficiencies. So in fact a slightly higher SAR figure may in fact mean that the phone increases it's power to give you a better call experience. Also RN3 has a host of more bands than any of these other phones and it has to be tested at the extreme end of the band spectrum which have lead to the slightly higher SAR values but that band you may NEVER use in actual usage. Anyways. so long as they are below the India specified figures of 1.6W/kg, I am good with that.

    Hope that helps.
