  1. N96 Vs. Iphone

the one thing i like about the iphone is the new app store. it offers a lot of quality apps that are quite reasonable, some being free. having said that, the n96 and the iphone are 2 completely different products. phones like the omnia and diamond can be compared to the iphone.
  2. me and my family have been using vodafone for ages now. my dad was one of the first few essar customers. our experience with the company has been amazing, be it hutch or vodafone. ive used reliance (dapo) for a couple of years too. the reliance cc was pathetic. as far as tatasky goes, ive never really had many problems, but whenever ive had to call the cc, theyve been very polite. the only problem i have is the signal cuts when it rains, but that has nothing to do with the cc.
  3. Cheapest Calls To Uk - Mobile.

thanks for ur reply. i checked the reliance global card online and the call rates seem to be more than the vodafone calling card.
  4. i need to make regular calls to uk - mobile numbers. im based in delhi and have a vodafone connection. i also have credit in my skype account. however, there is a vast difference between the rates to uk fixed and uk mobile. The vodafone world card costs rs 7.5 per min and skype is a little more. Can some1 please suggest a cheaper alternative? Thanks..
  5. Value 37" Lcd Tv

when it comes to lcd tvs, samsung is the market leader (i personally dont like samsung, lg, etc). sony comes in second place. Samsung and sony have a JV for lcd panels under the name S-LCD corporation. Hence, sony and samsung lcd panels are manufactured in the same facility. At my house, we've always gone for sony tvs. Even the last purchase was a 40" v series bravia. However, i wouldnt ming buying a samsung tv if its an lcd.
  6. As per the airtel website, these are the new 8mbps tariff plans: Plan-------------Speed----Rental-----Free Usage (GB)----Additional DSL Usage Combo 1299---8 mbps---1299-----------4--------------------Rs. 1.0/MB Combo 2222---8 mbps---2222-----------8--------------------Rs. 0.9/MB Combo 4444---8 mbps---4444----------20-------------------Rs. 0.8/MB Combo 9999---8 mbps---9999----------50-------------------Rs. 0.7/MB Combo 19999-8 mbps---19999---------100------------------Rs. 0.6/MB (excuse the horrible formatting)
  7. Airtel Broadband Speed

i have the same plan.. all i know is tht when i put my modem off for a few min n turn it on, the speed crosses 2mbps for a few sec to a max of a min or two and thn finally settles at around the 210kbps mark.. seems like they have some sort of a limiter which suddenly takes charge.. the speeds have stopped doubling after 11pm since a few weeks n my sppeds used to be closer to the 256kbps mark earlier.. as i sed, now theyr closer to the 210kbps mark.. the earlier reduction is speed was some months back due to the taiwan quake.. it effected the undersea cabling.. nbow it seems that they r reserving the bandwidth for the new 8mbps plans set to be announced..

  13. Apple iPhone

Today, at Macworld 2007 Apple announced the long-awaited iPhone - a widescreen iPod, a mobile phone, a mobile Internet terminal, a digital camera and a portable PIM organizer all-in-one. Some of the most exciting features of the iPhone include the OS X it runs on and touchscreen control with multi-finger gestures with no need for a stylus whatsoever. Equipped with 4 or 8GB of integrated memory, the Apple iPhone has got more than the needed storage space to bring your photos, videos and music to life straight into your palm. It's much like iPod in that respect and features a large 3.5" touchscreen TFT display with a resolution of 320x480 pixels. But unlike an iPod it can take pictures with the integrated 2 megapixel camera. It even has an accellerometer which allows it to tell whether you are holding the device in landscape or portrait mode so that it can turn the display orientation correspondingly. And all that mobile virtuosity comes at the meager thickness of 11.6 mm. A quad-band GSM/EDGE mobile (sorry, no 3G/HSDPA support), the iPhone is a truly amazing smartphone that can not only make and receive calls, but can also store your contacts, tasks, notes, calendar events, etc., as well as synchronize them seamlessly with the PC. If that's not enough the device also has Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and Bluetooth 2.0 support. Some sweet highlights of the device are the Proximity sensor, which turns the display off when you lift the iPhone to your ear, as well as the Ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the display's brightness. The other strengths of this multimedia device are more or less Internet-oriented, since the iPhone offers exceptional web browsing capabilities thanks to the Safari web browser with integrated Google search plus the Google Maps application that can take you all over the world - unfortunately without a GPS receiver. The user experience can be further enhanced through the use of various widgets, well-known and loved by all users of the Mac OS X. Apple would be offering the iPhone to end customers in USA through the Cingular networks. Unfortunately, the device is expected to become commercially available in June 2007 only after it's approved by the FCC. Market availability in Europe is expected no sooner than Q4 2007, and as late as early 2008 in Asia. Initial pricing in Cingular networks will be 499$ for the 4GB model and 599$ for the 8GB one - both with a two-year contract. Technical Specifications Screen size 3.5 inches Screen resolution 320 by 480 at 160 ppi Input method Multi-touch Operating system OS X Storage 4GB or 8GB GSM Quad-band (MHz: 850, 900, 1800, 1900) Wireless data Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) + EDGE + Bluetooth 2.0 Camera 2.0 megapixels Battery Up to 5 hours Talk / Video / Browsing Up to 16 hours Audio playback Dimensions 4.5 x 2.4 x 0.46 inches / 115 x 61 x 11.6mm Weight 4.8 ounces / 135 grams - info taken from gsmarena.com & apple.com
