  4. MNP Retention Offer You Received

@LandyaBhai (Refer post 295) Is reliance immune to TRAI regulations? TRAI has fixed an upper limit on incoming calls while roaming at 75paise. Reliance still offering 1re.?????
  5. I Have Ported My Number To....

Sent port out message to Reliance CDMA on 24th June, 2013 and instantly recieved the UPC Code. SUbmitted the COde to VOdafone along with documents on 25th June, 2013. Am connected to the Vodafone network from 2nd July, 2013. SO far good experience!!!!!! Worth the port
  6. I am really happy that the telecom space is up in action again after a long time and happy to see the commitment of MTS towards the Indian Telecom scenario. MTS is welcome to offer LTE services with their existing spectrum. But not too sure about one thing. Jio Infocomm, Airtel, etc have got 4G spectrum in 2300Mhz band. MTS in 800 Mhz band. And the government plans to conduct auctions for the 700 Mhz band which is considered to be the most efficient spectrum and also used globally. So will it mean that we may have to see network locked 4 g devices rather than open devices. For eg. can a 4g device work on 2300, 800 and 700 mhz band????
  7. Is TATA closing CDMA business?

It seems true even with reliance!!!! Their service for CDMA is pathetic!!! And also most of the offers are available for GSM customers rather than their CDMA customers. So it makes sense for the time being not to invest in a CDMA handset at least until there is clarity about the future course of action by these operators!!!!!!
  8. LINK: http://www.rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/prepaid/PlansandPacks.html Reliance has introduced a Rs. 24 voucher which offers 1ps/3 seconds for all local calls with a validity of 90 days for its GSM customers. This offer is not updated on its CDMA section. I think Reliance is planning to quit CDMA, becaise from the past few days on my CDMA phone, I am made to dial a number at least twice to sucessfully complete a call. The network condition is depreciating day by day. And added to that partiality to GSM, Reliance is sure digging its own grave, and that too a LARGE ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vinayak Pai
  9. Airtel, country’s largest GSM mobile service operator has issued a notice to all subscribers in Kolkata and West Bengal telecom circle that calling to customer care and talk to customer care excutives is not free at all from now. While calling to 198 and register your complain will be treated as toll free. Even you can dial *121# and get onscreen menu for Offer of the Day, Balance & Validity and VAS activation free of cost. But calling 121 and talking to Airtel customer care excutive will be charges at 50 paisa/3minutes. All private GSM operators(COAI & AUSPI) got the consent from TRAI to charge such calling a month before. Idea in Maharastra and Mumbai has already started this. From the customers’ point of view it is not a rational system as when call center is busy or hold the customer’s call for a time the subscriber has to pay due to call center’s fault. At the same time operators are giving the reason as majority of calls that mobile users make to customer care are for inquiry purposes, and not related to grievances or complains. Since running these call centres and offering customer care involves a huge cost, they want consumers to pay for this service. 10. Samsung Nexus S 4G for 13k???? Awesome price. Checked out certain retailers prices, it is quoted at around Rs. 28,000/-. Where is it available for 13k???????
  11. Buying a new car? Discuss here!

I have purposely assuemd the mileage to be a constant to get the difference between the two fuels. In a worst come scenario, in that case I feel that diesel makes more sense even for a low user, provided he is ready to retain his car for a longer duration.
  12. Buying a new car? Discuss here!

The main confusion we have when we are buying a car is whether to go for a petol or a diesel. I was totally confused when I was to take a decision and the more number of people I aske about the same, the more diverse opinions is what I got. In the end, i decided to do the math myself to arrive at a logical conclusion for my benefit as well as for the benefit of fellow members and friends. I have attached a Word document depicting various scenarios comparing the petrol and diesel cars. I have done this research in good faith and have tried not to be biased. Please keep me informed about the corrections if any. Any mistake is unintentional CARS1.doc
  13. Buying a new car? Discuss here!

I test drove the chevrolet beat, and true to the above opinion I found the engine a little on the noisy side. But otherwise it was a good car. Only worry would be regardig the maintenance!!! Never owned a chevrolet so a little skeptical!
  14. Buying a new car? Discuss here!

Any idea about the Chevrolet Beat Diesel?????????????? Am absolutely fascinated by the mileage and the price!!!!!!!! Any user experiences and reviews! And added to this their 3 year ZERO MAINTENANCE offer is absolutely stunning. Never though that they would be able to offer this on their diesel variants also.
  15. Pai Sir, This topic tytle starts with RGSM I agree dude!!! But what I meant is, the first post contains the press Release about the offer. The Press Release does not mention whether the offer is available for GSM or CDMA. You can also have a look at the following link from telecomgyaan. http://telecomgyaan.com/2011/08/reliance-offers-std-25p-paise-per-min-circle-wise-details/ Even in this link there is no specific mention of GSM or CDMA. Thats why I posted my query.
  16. But in the first post, it is nowhere mentioned that the offer is restricted to GSM. Please confirm.
  17. Reliance Drops Price Of Netconnect+ Devices

Is this offer available all India???? Because in the first post it is clearly mentioned that this offer is valid in Tamil Nadu only!
  18. Tata Docomo On Milking Spree

  20. Dear friends, I am planning to buy a netbook (10.1inch screen Notebook if you can call it one). I was really dissapointed to find that Dell does not offer a netbook and it offerss only laptops starting from a ragne of 28k. I happened to see a HP MINI series Netbook with 1.6GhZ processor, 2GB RAM, 320GB hard disk and above all with Intel Dual COre Processor. ALl this for a price of Rs. 19,yyy. My usage is only official. Not too much into gaming, graphics etc. Could anyone help me in making an informed choice??????? I prefer a netbook to a laptop is because it is more compact, and moreover perfectly fits my budget. ANy other disadvantages for a netbook????? Also I heard from many people that HP Laptops and Netbooks have the problem of excess heating. Is that true????????? ANy other suggestions for me???? Thanks in advance

  22. Help Wanted To Buy A New Netbook

Truly the experience of buying a notebook or rather I would say searching for a Nortebook has been a real pain in the neck. The options are aplenty and the choice is that much confusing. Based on Suggestions I have decided finally on the following model of Toshiba C-640 I4010 Specifications: 1) Intel Pentium i3 processor 2) 4GB RAM 3) 500 GB Hard Disk 4) DVD Drive with writer 5) WiFi 6) Blue Tooth 3.0 7) Camera 8) 14 inch screen Without Operating System This comes at the price of Rs. 26,500/- inclusive of taxes. @amitsonu- The main reason I am not opting for Acer is because on this very forum itself and also from my friends who have been using Acer I have heard about the battery going down very soon just after a year or two of normal usage. But thanks for the suggestion.
  23. MTS Mbonus for Prepaid

This is something on the lines of Reliance CDMA's Only For You offer
  24. Help Wanted To Buy A New Netbook

The whole experience of looking out for a netbook was really a difficult one. Thanks for all the suggestions and advice. In fact it was a learning experience. I was never aware that netbooks do not come with DVD drives and I would have to seperately buy an external one ANd moreover the price difference between the netbook and the notebook is very marginal. So i decided to gor a notebook itself. I have zeroed in on a Toshiba C660-4010 model which falls into the SATELITE Series whose specifications are as follows: 1) Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor, 2.2 Ghz 2) 4GB RAM 3) 320 GB Hard Disk 4) DVD Drive with writer 5) WiFi 6) Blue Tooth 2.0 7) Camera 8) 14 inch screen 9) Windows 7 Basic Operating SYstem The total Price inclusive of all taxes and levies is Rs. 26,500/- Any suggestions/ advice on this one? Any alternates in the same price range? Also, how is the reliability of Toshiba Models? Is this processor better and more efficient than the Atom Processor currently used in netbooks? Thanks in advance!!!!!
  25. Help Wanted To Buy A New Netbook
