  1. Stability Of Rconnect Services

Well, i dont know why you guys are facing this problem at all I have a LG LSI 110 which i connect with a desi USB A-to-B cable. I use Windows XP with SP2 I have not done any MTU tweaks or any stuff like that I use FlashGet and FTP Terminator for HTTP and FTP related downloads. I use Newsleecher for NNTP downloads (This is what i use all the time actually) I have never ever faced disconnection issues. Connected once, it stays there forever. Average speed (download) I get is 15KiloBytes/Sec So at an average i can download a total of 50-55 MB per hour I use BWMeter for these stats So I can touch 1GB+ on a daily basis. Upload is pretty OK too, but you cannot upload and download together smoothly at the same time. I have concluded that the speed of the internet is directly proportional to the connection strength and is very sensitive to that. For e.g If in any room I get 4 connection bars (5 max) I do not touch more than 10 KiloBytes/Sec. So I have moved around my PC at many places just to find the right spot for the phone where it gets the max connection strength. I also have a LG LSP 340E but it s**ks, the speeds are pathetic, it gets stuck at 1 KiloBytes/Sec and is simply pathetic. I hope my analysis helps. Cheers, Bhavesh
  2. Strange Process Netz.exe

Thanks Guys Vishal, your link was helpful. I guess it has something with Iarsn Task Manager that I have installed, and it happend once I put in a keygenned serial number. Anyways, its fine.. i got rid of it Thanks a lot!
  3. Strange Process Netz.exe

Hi Guys, I have a Reliance LG LSI 110, and I used their standard installer to install the drivers. I am a bit paranoid about security so I use an application firewall (Zone Alarm 5.5.094.000 Security Suite), rather paranoia or no paranoia a firewall is a must. Suddenly, today (I installed the drivers with rConnect drivers v2.0 a few days ago) I received a request from netz.exe to access 202.138.97.193, which incidentally belongs to Reliance Infocomm (http://dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=202.138.97.193) Netz.exe tried to access the internet today, whereas there was no fresh installation also. And yes this IP is not the IP that was assigned to my machine that was a separate one, so please rule out that the application was trying to act as a server or something. netz.exe is 294 KB (301,056 bytes) and the md5 hash is 71B7B313866152C656E434295EBA1719 I googled and found nothing about this file. Please, if anyone has any idea about this please let me know, I am sure there are many geeks in here.
  4. @Raghugs I am from Chandigarh, I also have a LG LSP 340e which gives me pathetic speeds not even 6, earliear (about an year ago) it used to give me 10-12 kbps max, but lately it just used to die and get stuck at 9.6 (on the phone) and give me a measly 1-2 kbps. I am pretty sure it is something to do with the phone. @Khaja I did not buy any cable for LG LSI 110, I am using my scanner USB A to B cable, I even tried my Iomega USB hdd cable, and there is no difference. Speed is pretty satisfactory, though just in the past 24 hours the download speed dropped to 10 kbps from 17 kbps. Will keep you guys posted!
  5. No. I mean 16-17 KILOBYTES PER SEC which comes out to be approximately 50-52 MB in one hour, which is pretty decent so I can download a movie in a day, which is OK. Just downloaded Meet the Fockers.
  6. Aircom, the max i have touched through this phone (LG LSI 110) is 23 kbps but it is always stable at 16-17 kBps (download) upload not included.. havent uploaded much yet, will let you know when i upload 2 gigs of my photographs to my gallery! Anyways i am pretty satisfied with this phone.. awesome speeds in comparison with other existing reliance handsets. I am using BW Meter for bandwidth calculation and i have downloaded a max of 53 mb in one odd hour, as the software also gives data analysis by the hour.
  7. Now this is really AWESOME!! the LG LSI 110 is giving me a constant speed of 16-17 KILOBYTES per second!! The best ever from Reliance! I downloaded and uploaded a total of 1.4 GB in 2 days i nearly average 50mb per hour. I am accessing newsgroups at port 119 and the speed is really awesome!! The phone is on 24x7 and there is no much overheating problem yet.. i do put the charger off occasionally. WOW 3 cheers for LGI LSI 110
  8. I got my LG LSI 110 Had to pay 2000 that was non refundable and 1500 extra for getting my platinum plan activated the 290 plan was included in the 1500 rs per month I just connected the phone, as the data services got activated today evening. Thanks a lot again guys, till now the speed is decent.. i ll keep you posted with the download speeds, and analysis reports. Thanks all and TeeKay specially for your advice..
  9. Cool! Thanks a lot TeeKay and all members, i m gonna get the LG LSI 110. Will get back to you guys as soon as i have it with me!
  10. Other Than Rconnect Services

Hi Dilmesh, First of all Tata Indicom has not launched its internet services officially, that is they are still testing their internet servers, they will officially launch it by the end of april or 1st May. Currently they are offering free internet through LSP 345, this is just the same as Reliance FWP LSP 340E but it has a few polyphonic ringtones rest everything is same. Even the drivers and the cable is same, i used the phone on my pc with reliance drivers and it worked without a glitch. But i suppose the best thing to do at the moment is to wait, because they yet have to launch it officially. When i used the Tata Indicom for intenet it performed almost at par with Reliance may be 8-10% less but certainly not more. And Dilmesh, if you consider a phone just for internet purposes i think Reliance has a better internet infrastructure at the backend, they are also into broadband and data services where as TATA is more or less a telephony company not a true infocomm company like Reliance. I hope this helped.
  11. Thanks TeeKay, before reading this post of yours i had just called up reliance customer care and had enquired about this lg lsi 110. I ll have to give just Rs.2000 as compared Rs.3800 (minimum) for a rim postpaid. Mobility is not an issue with me as it will be stuck to my PC all the time, but just one question, how about the FWT from LG, i had used that almost an year ago. And TeeKay can this LG LSI 110 be charged simultaneously? Does it support fax too? Thanks a lot your reply really helped me out...
  12. Rconnect No More Pls

RConnect or rather reliance has been a disaster on the whole. Bad customer care Worse service Worst Billing
  13. thanks a million! this has really been helpful but now i just dont know what to go in for, i guess it is true that i will not find a legitimate post paid n191 and going in for a phone that cannot be charged while being RConnected is also of no use to me... back to square 1 but you did help me save time and money thanks a lot
  14. Thanks Arun and Puneet, So i must try to get my hands on a n191, damn i used to have it myself (i had got it under the post dated cheque scheme when reliance was just launched) and then returned it and got a fwp lsp 340e. Arun, even lg rd2030 is not available, they are saying only moonlight sh** is what you can get at the moment. And they also dont have any samsung phones.. I ll try to get my hands on a n191 but i have a few queries again.. if i get a second hand n191 1. Will the reliance guys let me use it, that is what if the n191 is tweaked or something like that or some guy made a big bill and then left it.. and then when i go with that handset i m screwed. Is there any way, or do i have specifically have to find a guy who has a legitimate n191 and has been paying all his bills and is now ready to sell it too? 2. Second, i recall that when i had that n191 that it used to overheat.. will i still have that problem? And if yes how serious will it be when i ll be using it 24x7 for internet? Thanks a lot for your time guys! its really a cool forum i discovered!! i would have bought the fone today morning, but i did not have a passport size photograph so decided to get it on sunday, and then i find this wonderful forum through which i am getting actual advice and am not banging my head against the fu***** reliance customer care. PS: Arun, i see that this forum is a trial version of ipb, maybe i could help you with a full nullified version.. do let me know
