    -_- Agreed that RIM got the worst selection for handset and prices are too high to pay against GSM sets.

    But believe me RIM is still the cheap one. for e.g. Airtel - Sachin Inv. plan v/s RIM Joy 149

    Airtel

    Paln chgs 99 + Rental 51 + Clip 75 + rom 49 = 274 minimum + watever call umake

    RIM

    Paln chgs inc. rental 149 + clip 25 = 174 minimum + watever call u make

    Now again in Airtel Incoming upto 200 km is 4.90

    frm 200 to 500 = 5.45

    above 500 its 5.60

    Outgoing is 4.25 for mob to l/l & 3.75 for mob to mob

    I still give full marks to RIM although I have gsm n rim con. both

    Finally Reliance came up with wat I was asking frm them.

    Yeah a new cheap entry level LG5130

    Its 65K, Poly R/T, u can download 3 tones etc.

    @ 4999

    Wat abt ppl like me who have old b/w ??? can't upgrade -_-

    :( Buddy I also wanted colour handset but wat I did is kept my old rim as it is and went out n bought samsung c-100 coz I was sure abt the cost

    U will end paying 300 x 36 = 10800 + 5001 = 15801 in 3 years for the lg wat u bought and wat I bought is Samsung C-100 = 7000 so saved 8801 and the handset is my property in ur case u have to give ur handset back even after paying 15801 :lol:

    RIM is good in network and price but not in handset and service area.

    Hope u can find some way out. good luk. ;)

    :clap: Finally I have made my mind and may be get rid of RIM.

    The reason is I just bought colour samsung c-100 for 6.5K it is really good man. May be I will keep RIM don know at the moment. But one thing is for sure that they(RIM) has very worst scheme for upgradation frm b&w to colour.

    Just imagine 6500 for samasung c-100 with 65K colour + 40 poly + 500 nos. x 5 add.book + infra red so u can add ringtone+wallpaper etc. & wat RIM offer 14000 for LG rd7130????

    RIM should think something abt it :clap:

    :grin: I think reliance is not cheating but the mkt. and advertisement they made have not shown the proper detail in order to get huge customer, I think RIM should give all the details in advance to the customer so that one can easily understand the plan system.

    Moreover, the big problem with RIM is monopoly in handset, due to open market ppl. know wat is the cost at the moment for a handset, now if they are asking 6650 for b&w samsung and 14000 for colour LG who is gonna pay it??? when u get nokia 6610 at 11000. After that they have come up with prepaid so definately ppl who have paid more will find it that reliance is cheating them.

    Just think monsoon hungama ppl must be paying minimum for eco.149 is

    149 + 200 = 349 +100(let say 50 mins @1.99)+ 8% and now 25 cor CLIP etc. so it works out to approx 500 p.m. & if u go prepaid 324 out of that u get talktime for 200.

    I shud say RIM u r not cheating ppl. but ur plans r not easy to understand for normal & common ppl. & ofcourse ur chgs too.

    For me DAPO is still best but for a common person??

    :grin: 3000 is for who has made PDC upfront payment dear. If you have paid 3350 and want to upgrade U have to pay 5001.

    Now let's calculate If you pay 5001 up front + u have to pay 300 x 36 months = 10800 so total cost of handset is 15801??? while u can get good gsm colour handset at around 7500 in the market so it is not going to work. :grin:

    arey dudes, i sincerely request non - mumbaites to not talk over this topic for Mumbaites! pls... it gets confusing... u r confusing others...

    In mumbai, we all have been given 3 permanent nos. and our nos. change only within Mumbai, Kalyan and Turbhe... otherwise rest of mah or india, they dont change...

    Jigar, we already know wht u told us.. read this thread again, and u'l realise, tht is not the discussion we were having....

    Remember one thing, there is absolute commotion over this issue at the moment. Vasai, incidentally has not been included in the Mumbai Circle!! And all vasaites are outraged with this.... WebWorld at Vasai was pelted by angry customers... not realising tht these changes are becoz of TRAI rulings and not reliance's whims and fancies...

    This issue of no. change and roaming will now be clearer only when the new 10 digit numbering scheme is in place... Till then cross ur fingers and sit tight for all further judgements....! :clap1:

    :rolleyes: They why they have shown vasai, virar in 50km home circle, which was not counted as roming till JAN-04??? When I asked this to Custcare they informed me that this chgs are applicable from Feb-04 and as far as I know there is no new sys. introduce by TRAI.

    What I mean to say is be clear before you offer anything. When RIM have shown that till Virar is under Mumbai Circle then why you charge?? Till Jan-04 it was okay and how come from Feb-04 it's out of circle that's the question.

    All GSM companies charge roming the moment u cross Bhyander, so I don't mind if RIM also charge but then why previously they were not charging is my question?

    It's obvious customer will get angry with this kind of problem. :rolleyes:

    Now relianceinfo.com is becoming really cheating.com

    In Mumbai they have started taking roming chgs on incoming if you go beyond Bhyander in western and beyond Kalyan in Central side. This is really cheating coz they have previously shown it in 50KM intera circle. I don know about Delhi & Gurgaon??

    When I heard this I cudn't believe it so i talked with custcare and that guy agreed that is has been started from 1st of Jan, I said then why the hell u ppl haven;t informed us. He replied we have informed throug relavent media. They are really mean it was not shown in their website also, they only show good things :)

    Why they can't SMS it to the cutomer??? :D

    You are right buddy, Actully ppl have made so many negative publicity abt RIM. I think one have to wait. Reliance is a big co. to come up with mobile service all over India is not a Joke. I can say that they are far better than the GSM operators. BPL took 5 months to give proper signal and RIM did it in 2 months. I too have billing problem but think they will do needful very soon. After all they also want money and that can come only if they give bills on time. So let's hope for the best.

    Hey I have also changed my plan from Sept, they told me you will get this from Oct, and I have been charged for DAPO only for Oct-Nov, now new bill shows that I am in Budget 149 but what about Oct-Nov?? I told custcare that "I am not going to clear my bill till I get fresh bill according to my request, why should I suffer for matter delayed at your end." Let's see what happens.

    I have cleared all the bills before this, by SMS only even never got a bill copy :rolleyes:

    But think from now I will not, till I get my bill in my hands. :)
