  1. Samsung Mpower Muzik 219 Cdma

I wanted to buy this phone.. I was very much pleased by its looks, but my primary requirement was good battery life unlike most CDMA phone including the ones supplied by Reliance (need to charge daily) and for internet connectivity for PC.. Although some members here say it has no internet connectivity (in phone or PC) and also that is not mentioned in the manuals.. I found some people saying that it has internet connectivity.. even some R-Web world people and some shop keepers recommending this handset for internet usage through R-World and through PC using the Samsung PC Suite. They also showed me the "Brew" and some data option available inside the handset, but could not show me the internet working.. So would like some of you owning the phone to test for urself and tell me if this phone has a modem and can be used to browse internet on a PC (with a special SIM card and data cable not bundled with the handset) ?? and what is the average battery life ?
  2. Fly C-250

Supernova - Can you ask your friends about the energy efficiency of 8 hrs talk time claimed by the company ? As CDMA phones are normally not that energy efficient, I was quite impressed by this one.. I just wanted to double check as this is Fly and not a regular brand like Samsung or Nokia.. In fact in CDMA, even these bigger brands failed in the battery life parameter.. BTW, is there any handset from Fly or from Samsung/LG/Moto which has EVDO, decent battery life and of course in this price range (Rs. 3000)? I am not looking for Chinese or re-branded chinese craps even though Fly itself is sort of like that..
  3. Fly C-250

has anybody bought this fone ? can anybody write review on its features especially the 8 hrs continuous talk time claimed by the company due to the new energy efficient Qualcomm chipset ? internet usage, speed, etc ? The new price in Mumbai seems to be around Rs. 3000.
  4. In Pune (Maharashtra cirlce), almost all the operators have started this non-sense business. Starting with Vodafone which has large corporate customers, is not bothered, as they simply say all operators are charging so we are also charging. I thought Mumbai will be spared, but it is going to start from this week 1-by-1. In fact there was an SMS for many people here at Pune from Vodafone (might be from other operators also) to submit their id/address proof documents for re-verification and to contact cumtomer care for further details. And Vodafone would nicely charge for these calls. I had infact written to Vodafone to stop this non-sense and in case of such business policies (Vodafone's argument) should guide customers towards their web site, email and toll free sms for enabling/disabling services or lodge complaints rather than asking them to speak to CC people and charge for the calls.
  5. Samsung Guru 559

Saket : from snaps, this looks similar to Samsung GSM E1080T handset. My friend has bought that. It is fine for the price and feature offered. Vinayak: Such flaws are known to exist in Samsung basic handsets.. after all its not Nokia to be perfect even in basic handsets.. Samsung is popular to bring good features at low prices but always looses on such small but important things..
  6. Samsung Guru 559

I am planning to buy a RIM CDMA connection with a open market handset.. I am looking for such a handset but with a modem in this price range (Rs. 2500 - 3000). Despite of GSM hype, R-CDMA seems to be great on internet(basic browsing) and voice clarity.. Let me know which other handset fits this criteria. Has anybody got to use Fly C250 (8 hrs talk time, with modem) ?? Also when I enquired for the same with a Web world near me, he told I need to purchase a Rs. 99 SIM from him, which can be used on such handsets and the not Rs. 25 SIM sold by shopkeepers, which can be used only in Reliance handsets. How far this is true ? Can anybody confirm If Reliance is taking away talk time automatically in CDMA as well like in GSM ??
  7. Reliance GSM Network in Pune/Vishranthwadi

It is highly recommended to ditch RGSM... They have the poorest network every where. even in mumbai they are bad. and worst part is they steal a lot of talk time by activating services on their own. The customer care guys say they dont have history for more than 3 days and so they cannot refund the money.. I have several times spoken to Nodal officer in mumbai. Last, he told he will get back to me with this issue in 3 days.. but now its 3 months, there is no call from him. As people pointed out here, the nodal officer in Pune never picks up phone. I recommend to go for other service providers who offer better service and not just catchy offers. Reliance is spoiling its reputation it built on CDMA network, but providing poor GSM service. Even the less popular Virgin GSM, Loop have better network, leave alone the popular ones like vodafone, airtel, etc
