happy birthday hetal ji

sorry, if I gave the wrong impression.....was just sharing my experience for people in same situation as I was before taking the ota
-
took the latest OTA to ICS on a rooted evo 3d running mean rom.....since there are contradicting reports on XDA on howto get back to stock and take the OTA (especially there's lot of confusion whether to write secureflag or not), thought i would share my experience of how I did it
I was rooted s-on hboot 1.5 and on the mean rom
1) ran 'fastboot oem lock' by rebooting to bootloader from adb
after this was not able to android boot, always booted to the bootloader which showed 'relocked' with 'security warning'
2) connected device to pc on fastboot mode and ran the 2.17 RUU, which completed succesfully
3) on reboot everything was working , nothing was reset like spc or data settings
4) after this just went to system updates and took the OTA, which got me to the latest ICS build and hboot 1.58
-
i used the firmware with hboot, i think i also flashed the stock rooted rom (1.22.651) - but my build is 1.22.651.3
-
-
what I did was as follows
flashed latest radio zip from twrp recovery
Updated to latest firmware 1.22.651 via the PGxxx.zip method from bootloader
have been trying out all the 1.22.651.3 based rom's without any problem
-
that's what I did
-
hboot gets updated by OTA's , which will make it impossible to gain s-off later

I used lazy-panda s-off, and original spc got restored after this, so had to read spc again using ws....(guess you can also use msl reader to get spc )
-
But why miss the golden chance of acquiring s-off? Moreover it's nice to remember not to take an htc OTA without first getting s-off
-
flashed the latest radio 1.05.11.0606 from twrp recovery, now just need the flash a pre-rooted rom based on the latest OTA
-
s-off wipes everything... had to again do the whole thing like prl, min and dump, and yeah even spc got reset, so people without paid CDMA WS 3.8 beware

^ even i got a call today from DAKC, Navi Mumbai, after lodging the complaint on monday. did *228 again, as advised, but its not rectified yet..
maybe you need to write akey

I love the pure ICS and I am using AOKP 35 as of now. No major issues besides notification glitch which will eventually go when Samsung will release the source. Everything otherwise is working perfectly fine.
same here.....AOKP build 35 + FE07 modem + FE10 aosp kernel

Sold off my Epic 4G and have ordered a Epic 4G touch! Anxiously waiting for it to be delivered! Hopefully by next week the beast will be in my hands. What do you guys suggest? Stay stock or check out the ROM's have seen quite a few roms! Pretty exciting. Also how is the battery life?
I have been switching between 2 of the most popular Android 4.0.4 leaks for our phone - AOKP and Cyanogenmod 9 - Though source is not released as yet, both these ROMs are awesome.......That being said you need to take extra care while switching between GB and CM9 based ICS roms on the Epic 4G Touch, DON'T flash anything from an ICS recovery, if you want to flash either of these roms, start from stock EL29 , then ODIN stock EL26 CWM tar (as this is the only recommended recovery to flash ICS leaks), reboot into EL26 CWM recovery (blue) and flash ROM followed by the latest Gapps

Hi All,
Have to change the no. on my DInc. MEID is not registered. Tried the old method.
I have already zeroed out the MEID and ESN of my DInc, but when I try to write the new ESN in qxdm, it gives me an error saying that item is read only.
The ESN of the new sim that I have starts with '80'. Have read somewhere that ESN's starting with '80' are actually PESN's. Is there any way to calculate MEID from the PESN.
Also, please guide me if there is anything that I am doing wrong and how do I write the new ESN on my phone.
Thanks in advance
Manuj Gupta
I was able to read MEID by inserting RUIM on a Samsung Corby

Data/Internet connection not working on CM9 Beta 2.
Last week I flashed from Clean GB to CM9 Beta 2 but observed that data was not working, Odin'ed back to stock FC09 to check, data was working fine. Later flashed to Clean GB and then to People's Rom and found that Data was working perfectly on both roms. Today I again flashed to CM9 Beta 2, but again data is not working. Can anyone please help me in restoring data on CM9 Beta 2, if not I will be forced to flash back to Clean GB/People's Rom.
here's the solution for this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473324&highlight=chap-secrets

took the latest OTA which got me updated to build: 2.13.651.1 and baseband : 1.12.11.0809, but as expected hboot got updated too and bootloader got locked, and after update lost root.
Luckily since i have s-off, flashed lazy panda hboot from fastboot and got hboot downgraded succesfully, which allowed me to flash again twrp recovery, and from there to flash a pre-rooted stock de-odexed rom to gain back root, and all is well now.
