  1. I say that except the CC guys, the billing system of Reliance has always been perfect for me....missed calls are never charged....yes, if u gave a miss call and the other person received ur call in the sec, it would b charged, not otherwise...

"Billing systems" means the call tracking systems....ur plans/other changes might have not been effected and u might b getting wrong bills....but the billing systems didnt proved wrong to me !

I fully agree with theking on this isue. I have four Relaince Mobiles and two FWPs and I have local detailed billing on four of these lines for the last one year or so.

I use my RIM to give a missed call to my office or home FWP and they return the call to me. I have checked all my RIM bills and 99.9%, I have not been charged for the missed calls. Even in my two RIM prepaids, I have noted that sometimes, when the call is disconnected within 2 secs, it is not charged. People who use Prepaid, pl check up. Of course, it is only for on-net calls that I have checked up.

Generally, it so happens that you give a missed call and by the time you press the "END" key, the opposite party may have picked up the call. In this case, yes it is chargeable. Some people give a one ring miss call, some give even 5 or 6 rings miss call. For the people who give a one ring miss call, the chances are very less for the opposite party to pickup and answer unless they are very alert and agile enough to pickup the call within one ring.

In the initial stages, Reliance used to waive all charges if the call details showed the duration as less than 7 seconds. Now I think it sould be 5 secs. If your calls duration shows less than 5 secs, you can claim waiver from Reliance.

Anyway, the latest updates in the Relaince Website enables you to contact the NODAL Officer or email to them as follows: -

Reliance IndiaMobile & Reliance IndiaPhone customers can send in their complaints:

    By e-mail at : serviceassurancecell@relianceinfo.com or

FAX: them to our dedicated fax number: 022 303 88005 or

Get in touch with the Nodal Officer in your circle: (this is a link in the website which provides complete details of ALL India Nodal Officers complete with phone, fax, address, email etc) in your circle: or

    or Write to :

    A Block, 2 nd Floor,

    Navi Mumbai – 400 710

Thanks and Keep Enjoying Reliance.:biggrinthumb::angry::grin:

  2. In a way, All India 2 minutes free is good because you get a total bill of only 2000 per month (plus ST) all inclusive if only you terminate your calls within say 110 or max 115 seconds.

Maybe if you want to talk longer, you should keep disconnecting and reconnecting after every 110 or 115 seconds. Of course, it is troublesome.

Only thing to note here is the SMS and Roaming costs, which if included in the all inclusive deal, would be too good to be true.

Wonder what Reliance will bring out next? Tata Indicom in their Plan 499 offers local and intracircle cell to cell calling at Rs 0.50 pm as compared to RIMs Rs 1.00 pm. And you also get 100 or 200 national SMS free in this plan. All other features are similar to RIM.

  4. Reliance has now started copying Tata Indicom. The new website looks very similar to the Tata Indicom website.

Right now only the home page looks different. The other pages are still the same with the same ages- old details which are very stale. A number of changes have taken place, but the website still continues to dole out old information, which is irrelevant.

All in all, a shameless, hopeless clone of Tata Indicom website is all that Reliance people have come out with. Like someone said, maybe their web designers are the raw people who are learning web site designing now only - more by copying from other competitors websites.

A big boo to Reliance's new?????? website.

  5. Similar is the case with 6230 also. Both reliance and LG have cheated customers by stating in their brochures about the memory. Initially, it was mentioned as 256 MB Ram, which was coolly reduced to 128MB Ram.

However, I sincerely doubt if it is more than even 1.28MB at all.

The BREW RWorld is lousy and does not support many applications. To view or use any application, you have to download the program and to make matters worse, the memory is always short and you have to keep removing some applications to make space for newer applications. And when you want back the older application, you have to once again download the program. It is sheer waste of valuable time.

I wonder if there is any option to completely remove RWorld from these 5340 and 6230 handsets totally. If anyone of you techies can help, please let me know.

And yes, can any applications/programs be used in this 6230 phone? I mean so many utilities are available for Nokia and similarly for LG, is anything available at all? I have a miniSD Card also inserted in this phone, which I presume is useful only for mp3, camera photos and videos and nothing else, if I am not wrong.

Neither LG nor Reliance provides a live demo for their medium/high-end mobiles and a customer has to buy the damn cell first and then experience the defects/shortcomings in the cell leisurely.

I wish to take them to consumer courts for misleading customers. Anyone else who has already taken the initiative, please let me know and I will definitely join.

    Thanks.

Hi Guys... gud news  ... R-World section of LG RD 5340 has ringtones section now.... which has latest bollywood ringtones. But  the sad news is that when you try to sonload the ringtones on the handset... it says that the "Handset registry is full" and asks you to delete some ringtiones... then when you click on delete some extsting ringtones option... it says that "you do not have any ringtones in your handset"... and you are reditected to the main r-world BOLLYTONES page. Option toh aagay... par kya faida????

And you know thwe biggest joke??? have you ever read the handset booolkte that you get in the handset box??? Its clearly mention in it that you can download 100... yes 100 ringtones in the handset and you can dowmload 50 wallpapers....god knows how?

Can you please tell me where is this ringtones option in the goddamned BREW Rworld of 5340 and 6230? Or is it only for you Mumbai customers?

  7. Nothing sensational for Chennai customers at least.

The rates for all competitors are 0.50 for cell to cell across TN and Chennai and STD is at a flat 2.00 pm to any operator. Local and intracircle SMS is free (upto 100 or 150 or 200 or full free per day as per operator) and national SMS is at 0.50, 1.00 or 2.00. Only pinching cost is roaming charges which are at apprx 4 lowest to about 5.65 highest as compared to RIM's 2.49 highest. Needless to add, night calling (9PM to 9AM) is at 0.30 for C2C and same operator calling is available at 0.10 also to selected numbers only.

To top it further, all operators are giving almost full talktime on paper and e-recharges. So you only pay up ST @ 10.2% and nothing more most of the time.

    So keep enjoying Reliance.

  8. The tariffs will become like RIM tariffs - all calls will be charged at Re 1 per minute - even local and intra circle calls to local fixed lines which earlier was at 180 seconds.

Hence this plan is good only for those who have very very high STD usage. Another thing is that you cannot activate any of the onnet packs for calling or for SMS also. And yes there are no free calls or talkvalue here. All calls right from the very first call is chargeable.

    Keep enjoying Reliance....

  10. and i would like to know this - what exactly happens when the customer's "lifetime" is over? like when the guy dies? heck, how would the phone company even know he is dead...??

    lotta fuzzy areas there...

There better be a law whereby minors cannot own a cell-phone account...or some similar law... becoz we mite as well buy cnxs in the name of our 4yr old son/daughter/nephew/cousin (instead of under our name - since we already used up a lot of the precoius 'lifetime')

    get my drift ?

    Dear redshift,

Today also, one cannot take a connection in a minor's name. you you cannot buy cxns in the name of your 4yr old son/daughter/nephow/cousin/uncle/aunt ????:clap::grin::lol::ph34r::unsure:B)

  11. Prepaid rules! Postpaid s**ks!

This is the simple reality. Those who make use of postpaid services are mostly Datacentric users or more professionals.

Whereas simple users are in the prepaid segment which is almost 70% of the total subscriber basee. Prepaid offers lots of flexibilities both for the users as well as providers.

If you don't like you need not continue the service without getting in to rental period & final bill head-aches.

You lose some facilities when you use prepaid services as compared to postpaid. They are call waiting, call forwarding, call conference, voice mail etc which you do not get with Reliance Prepaid. No idea why this is so?

  12. but here 1Rs/Min is to any phone i guess.

Its like getting joy499 plan for 250 Rs rental per month.

I will go with this recharge card :)

The only problem here is that all local calls to any RIM/RIP will be chargeable at Rs1 and not 0.40 as in postpaid. So if you have another RIM/RIP which you can use for local calling, then this is the scheme for you. Otherwise for local RIM/RIP calling, this scheme is too, too costly. Hope they introduce some other local onnet packs for this scheme also.

  13. " WISHING EVERYONE AT RIMWEB a VERY HAPPY, HEALTHY and PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR."

All charges are Rs 1.00 as follows: -

Local RIM to any number (incl. all RIMs/ RIP/ etc) Re.1.00

STD RIM to any number (incl. all RIMs/ RIP/ etc) Re.1.00

ONNET packs will not be allowed at all in this scheme. (They should have allowed this facility to make it more rather most attractive plan)

ROAMING CHARGES: Re 1.00 for incoming and Re 1.00 for outgoing also (ditto as in NJ 499)

Local and Intra Circle SMS Free upto 1100 per month (ie 37 per day) after this limit is over, maybe they will charge at Re 1.00 per SMS.

All in all it is a very good plan for people who are outside Reliance network as it works out very cheap for them. (at local rates of around Rs 1.20 and STD rates of Rs 2.00)

The flip side is that a number of call management features have been blocked by Reliance - call waiting, call forwarding, call conference etc CF is not available on nay other Prepaid to my knowledge, but CW and CC is allowed by all prepaid operators. This is indeed foolish on Reliance's part.

Anyway, those of us who want to switch from postpaid to prepaid can surely do so as this is an economical plan with the added benefit of balance carry forwarding within 15 days. People who opt for this plan should make calls to other networks only instead of ONNET calls as there is no benefit in calling ONNET. Almost everyone in India possesses atleast a BSNL LL, a GSM Mobile connection or a RIM Connection. So calls from RIM to other networks should turn out very economical.

    Keep Enjoying Reliance.

  14. Dear Shreeniwas,

It is definitely much cheaper to upgrade from 340 to 350R which is having better features and also has more battery standby and talktime. The cost of the battery for 340 is around 750 in Chennai from LG service; it was not available in the open market when I wanted to change it in June 2005. Luckily the 350R was launched at that time and I immediately jumped for the upgrade offer.

Anyway, you are the better judge whether to retain your existing FWP with a new battery or upgrade to a new FWP.

    Thanks

  15. Msg Exprs is ridiculuous. It charges 0.80 per SMS even for DAPO customers. Another thing is that you can forward SMS from your inbox also now in Msg. Exp.

I called up RelCC to ask whether the charges are applicable at 0.80 per SMS. The CC person told me that it is chargeable as per your tariff plan. So for DAPO it is free, for others it is as per their plan.

Not beleiving this person, I once again called up Rel CC after ten minutes and I was shocked to note that it is chargeable at 0.80 irrespective of the plan you are under.

This is plain ridiculous - 2030 holders only have to use this facility as it is a waste for all other phones.

  16. For Chennai, the list is as follows: -

    1. Aircel

    2. Airtel

    3. BSNL

    4. Hutch

    5. Indicom maybe

    6. Reliance

Surprisingly the pvt. operators like Aircel, Airtel and Hutch have congestion only in prepaid segment. This is solely because they are offering very low rates during day and even lower rates in the night.

The best any day is Reliance because there is no congestion any day or night. Only one attempt is required 99% of the time. The balance 1% may be due to the called network's congestion problems.

It is indeed great to note that even with Full free local and intracircle calling facility, Reliance does not have any congestion problems, whereas Aircel, Airtel and Hutch with more or less the same number of subscribers have unlimited congestion problems all day and night. I may not be surprised if Aircel, (both TN and Chennai) ranks among the worst Network all over India for congestion. I am totally unaware of Indicom congestion as tehre are not too many subscribers in Chennai and therefore they may not have much problems.

    So, keep enjoying Reliance.
