  1. It is not possible to switch off call connect and disconnect alert even though it is very loud and irritating. Maybe you can try with LG Service centres.

BTW, if you could get the PCSYNC prog for this phone, pl send it to me on email khs_2909@yahoo.co.in.

    Thanks in Advance.

    :clap::help::ph34r:

u can check on lgmobiles.com may be u get software there

No help from LG also, their website does not have any info on this SW. I emailed to their helpline and got a reply after three reminders over one month that LG does not provide PCSYNC for FWPs at all. See how wonderful their website and their helplines are as compared to Nokia's.

I sometimes think that LG and Reliance Infocomm are the one and the same.

Thanks anyway and keep enjoying Reliance.

  2. I was able to login to bill.relianceinfo.com when I tried now, but I noticed this message: "Server down for maintenance. Please try after some time." in the R-Connect usage page.

It was not working for about four to five days, Now it is working. Check once again. There is nothing that can be done for the ten mts of waiting for the CC chaps. Other operators have even worse waiting times. Blame it on the high number of subscribers trying to reach CC for any and every thing.

    Keep Enjoying Reliance.

  3. Hi all,

Does anyone know that DAPO, charges to utility shortcode numbers are full free irrespective of the call duration? Calls to numbers 131, 1407, 1066, 133, 1361, etc are not charged at all. They are full free. But calls to these short code numbers from other Plans are chargeable at local landline call rates as per the specific Plan.

Just check your detailed bill usage to enjoy these benefits. Maybe Reliance is sleeping and has forgotten to charge for DAPO customers, but my experience has been over the last four months at least. All my detailed bills show the call charges as 0.00 to these numbers, irrespective of call duration.

So, Keep enjoying Reliance. :'(

  5. I just bought the new LG 6230 handset - Its a neat one.. Only Hook up is I have no clue how to download MP3 Ringtones / Videos on it... Can someone please help... Also unable to download ringtones / WAllpapers / Screensavers / Videos from Nokia 6235.. Can someone helppppppppppppp Pleaseeeeee

RWorld is through BREW and Reliance has still not provided us with full functionality. Only some apps are available and as you may already know, 5340, 6230 etc which operate on BREW have to first download the RWorld applications, then you have to install them and only then it will work properly. Now the difficulty is that sometimes the downloads are too slow or it gets disconnected midway. Hence you have to once again download the apps. And sometimes, while installing, there are some errors. All of which add upto your frustration. Rel.CC is clueless on BREW - neither they have any knowledge (as if they had any even otherwise) but also they have now learnt to misguide people or re-directing them as always to the WWs for even very simple matters. :P:confuse::angry::P

So friend unless and until Reliance upgrades the RWorld through BREW, you will not be able to enjoy any Ringtones, Wallpapers etc even though the phone may support hundreds of these. Further for these phones, you cannot download ringtones through SMS (8888, yahoo etc) also. So you will have to bear with the lousy and squeaky ringtones that are on the phone. :help::help:

    Thanks and Keep Enjoying Reliance.

  6. Absolutely, this phone needs Bluetooth and a bigger screen and also Java RWorld. Maybe if they added a thousand or so, in the price for these features, it would have been worth it.

Anyway, keep enjoying Reliance and LG till then.

  7. These two features are indeed very much required nowadays.

But then, RWorld is through Brew and not Java.

I have recently bought an 5340 which also has RWorld by BREW. It is slow and many applications/features are not available. Another thing in BREW is that you have to download RWorld applications and only then you can use the application.

Further the phone memory limitations will not allow one to download all applications. Hence Full RWorld may not be available and one has to go on deleting and downloading applications. Most of the times, downloading and installing applications takes a very long time - no idea why. Sometimes it just hangs.

Why has Reliance launched this BREW RWorld, ADA only knows. Hope they will support it properly in future. How are the experiences of RD 6000 owners with particular respect to RWorld?

Further if I am not wrong, the powerpoint doc, I had attached when I started this Post showed that this 6230 phone had 256 MB memory, but now the Reliance people as usual, have very slyly reduced it to 128 MB only.

The display is 128 x 128 which in today's environment is far too small for comfortable viewing. Atleast the display could have been slightly bigger if not better.

I am not aware of the sound quality of this phone, but the 5340 is a bit squeakish and the ringtone sound is far too low to be heard in traffic.

I strongly feel that at Rs.7999, it is slightly overpriced. At this price level, Nokia 6235 is definitely superior and will offer higher resale value than LG 6230.

    Thanx and keep enjoying Reliance.

  8. Reliance will probably launch this phone in April 2006 only after disabling many features as usual. This phone will be priced around 18k. But it is the ultimate full featured phone for CDMA at the moment.

Hope they launch it earlier with all features available.

    Keep enjoying.

  9. nothing for portpaid customers at all. do they want postpaid customers to turn to prepaid? Earlier also, they had this Best Customer Rewards Programme - but it was only for individual customers. All customers who had corporate CAFs ( meaning more than one mobile in a single CAF) were excluded from this BCRP at that time. When I contacted the Chairmans office, they told me that this class of customers are not eligible and in future they will try to include them.

Right from the beginning they are discriminatory in nature. Trust Reliance to bring out such hare brained schemes only. No one can understand their logic at all and they will not (never) clarify at all.

    As usual, an eyewash only.

  10. Dear Adwait,

Very good idea to replace the phone than to go in for a new battery, which works out to almost the same cost of an exchange (Rs 800). I too faced the same problem three moths back and then this 350R phone came up. I enquired with LG CC for the battery as advised by the rel CC and was quoted Rs 700+ for the battery with only 3 moths warranty. Then at the WW, I found this new phone was getting launched and they told me that upgrades was available if the old phone was in working order. The price to be paid was Rs 800 only with one year full warranty, as compared to cost of a new battery with only 3 months warranty.

Better opt for LSP 350R if your usage is limited to your own building only. The User Interface in this phone is really very good. It is way light compared to LSP 340E, but definitely not lighter than LSP 110.

Maybe, you can get this model rather than cordless at all/any WWs. Try your luck.

    Keep enjoying.

    ;):angry::angry::grin:

  11. naah.......even small messages get lost :( . Besides, on 5130, I can receive big messages.....even beyond 160 chars, they just get truncated when I try to forward them. (No fun btw, forwarding something and realising that the punch line got truncated ;p)

    48384[/snapback]

Are you sure you are receiving more than 160 chars in your 5130? Pl check once again from a GSM mobile to your mobile with a long SMS of say 300 to 400 chars and see if you receive it at all.

Last week only, I checked with the Chairmans office and they told me that Reliance does not suport any SMS above 160 chars at all. If somebody (from GSM) sends a SMS of say 400 chars, it will never get delivered to the RIM number at all. I argued with the Cms office to atleast allow the SMS in multiple parts - but they clarified that Reliance Network simply does not support any SMS above 160 chars.

Hence their LMS enabled handsets are only an eye-wash. Actually in these handsets, you can type out a long SMS but it will send it in multiple parts only to the RIM mobile. Delivery to GSM mobiles of these LMS is doubtful, as everything in Reliance is always only for on-network rather than off-network.

    Thanks and keep enjoying..

  12. Dear All.

Just to inform all you envious Mumbai people, that all mobile operators (Airtel, Aircel and Hutch) in Chennai and TN are offering the following tariffs: -

    Local mobiles 0.49 per mt

    Local LL 1.20 per mt

STD any no.: 2.00 per mt (Hutch to Hutch STD at Re 1 per mt)

SMS local and intra circle Full Free unlimited to all nos.

SMS national Rs0.50 to Rs 2 as per diff operators

Hence in the above context, Reliance has had to introduce this facility at Rs 30 per month. However, they may not find much takers because their calling rates are still high at Rs 0.80 pm to all mobiles and Rs 2.40 STD which is also high. Further all national SMS is at Rs 2 per SMS of max 160 characters sendable, which is again costly compared to Airtels Re0.50 and Hutch's Re1 per National SMS. Anyway it is Reliance's prerogative to charge higher rates. In my opinion, this scheme will not make any major dent in the other operators business, which will continue to boom.

Secondly Reliance has introduced new plans in Full Money back offer - which is LG 2340 at 2500 with full talktime usable for all calls at 90 days for prepaid and 6 months for post paid. ie Rs 417 each month which is not carry forwardable for post paid. However for prepaid it is carry forwardable within 15 days of the grace period after the ninety days. However many facilities are notavailable for prepaid as compared to postpaid.

The above apart, they have also introduced LG 2530 at Rs 2800 with THREE years incoming free and outgoing as per the wish of the subscriber. This is to counter TATA INDICOM's two year plan.

For the information of the Mumbai subscribers who envy Chennai, pl note that Reliance has not introduced Rs 299 plan with tariffs of Re 0.50 to any local number (mobile or landline) and Rs 2.40 any STD. This plan is available only for Mumbai subscribers. So they need not envy us. :)

However strictly speaking, Reliance should introduce all plans for the national market instead of localising it for different regions and confusing the customer care people who do not know anything at all about the new plans. And in any case, they were always improperly trained. You ask them about some thing and they reply to you about another thing which makes you frustrated.

Hope the above info will satisfy the Mumbai people.

    Thanks & take care

    Kumaar Shah
