  1. I tried to see if I can change language but none of samsung pc links has that facilitiy. Also I think this soft is for phone with camara as in installation folder there are folders named CAMMOVIES and CAMIMAGES.

From help file names it seems it is meant to support models CX219, CX309, CX319, CX369

Ofcourse link of site shows it as SCH-N191 soft.

  2. I came to know from WW people that reliance is introducing new LG 5130 color hand sets. As per them (not officially) it is already in ware house and shall come to market soon.

    Specs are

    64 K UFB display (128 pixels X 128 pixels)

    300 X 4 phone book.

    60 call log

    PC sync

    99 gms

    speaker phone

    JAVA

    22 ring tones

    160 schedules

30 each SMS in inbox, out box, archine, drafts, templates

    In call memo

    T9

    MSM 5105 chipset

    64 MB flash

    16 MB SRAM

I think who are not fond of camara and do not like flap phones should wait.

  3. I indeed found a bug in GTRAN. It is about voice memo.

During conversation, if I made a call and record a voice memo then it is must that I save voice memo giving file name before disconnecting, which is some times difficult, epsecially if you are using head set while driving. However if opposite peson has called me then voice memo is saved automatically.

Another interesting thing is that say if I called and record a voice memo, it is saved automatically if opposite person hangs up first.

  4. its a good phone, not too much of memory, can store 1500 phones in 300 locations. Ringtones are OK, pc sync soft is good. it comes with data cable and extra battery, its a good feature. screen and OS is better than any other rliance phone. camara is gimmick. only 100k pixels. LG is 300k may be a stamp size print out. Data connectivity is as good as samsung and far better than LG.

  5. Can any one tell me about since when reliance changed policy? 'cos when I took connection (I was told by WW people that I am not charged during dormancy) june 03, till march 04 I was charged for the time I used to do data exchange (I compared with life time timer and bill amt). Later from april 04, I stopped using r connect as I got another account (unlimited) from tata, however looking at the quality of tata,I am thinking to swith over to reliance.

  6. Hi,

I am not technical buff. However when I read posts about charges of R connect when in dormant state, I wondered is it possible? I spoke to CC they had different version at different time. Some says you are charged when dormant some says not charged etc. (its 50% each out of 6 calls)

I read on internet about CDMA and data services. I still have doubts if they can figure out log in and log off. As when your phone as modem goes off the line it has to log off. Else say for example, I connect to network, do not disconnect and switch off phone by removing battery, means my phone is still registered on net work. Immediately afterwards, if I try to connect net work, I should not be logged in as I am still not logged off. But I can log ON.

So I decided to have USB port and USB as COM port monitered. I do not know what it means. But attaching two files, which some expert can use it to know wether one is logged off the net work when in dormant state or not.

I request all techies to take keen interest as I belive its not possible for RIM people to differentiate between dormancy and disconnection. In both the case one log off the net work.

Attached two file (zipped), each contains data from different software which scans and monitors COM / USB ports. one is TXT and another is HTML file. I added my comment on top. I used samsung SCH-N191 :)

Pl read this article too http://www.rediff.com/netguide/2003/aug/28mobile.htm
