    How many real good omh phones are available? In cdma imported handset call conference, waiting, + code dialing like basic functions are problems. Also we all loved cdma because of 2 main reason first was cheaper and latest handsets and RIMWEB. Now handset part is no longer applicable. Reliance is not so cheap in call rates too.

    Ad dkalieji mentioned who has time to tinker phones like old days.

    AFAIK HTC 816 is not officially launched in India. As per info given by HTC dealer in Ahmedabad it is yet to be launched and most probably it will be launched with Indian 4G (Band 40) support. If it do not support 4G then now it is useless buy. I am sure by the end of this year we will get 4G.

    One sold on flipkart is said to be imported one.

    LAVA 406Q is a basic handset with perhaps the best specs (CPU + RAM + Battery) in sub 10k range.

    My purpose is to use it as a Dash Cam in my car, Check here http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/36575-help-for-tasker-programming/

    Brief observations:

    Battery life : With 3G ON, about 70 minutes talk time and 90-100 minutes screen ON and one SIM, more than 30 hours.

    Display : Average, visibility in sun light - average, display color : Not so natural, Contrast : Average to poor.

    Battery : 1700 mAH, LiPo - as on battery (Specs says LiON)

    Audio quality : Music - below average - by ear plugs, POOR : on Speakers, Phone - acceptable on ear phone, Speaker - Poor.

    No dedicated speaker for Ring and Audio it is routed through Ear piece only, so speaker quality is very poor.

    Vibration alert : Average

    NO LED NOTIFICATIONS for any thing.0

    No Ambiance light sensor so Auto Brightness is just useless. It sets screen brightness to 50%

    Over all Build : Good to average.

    Camera : Average to Poor

    Camera Flash : Weak

    Touch Sensitivity and accuracy : No complaints for screen as well as capacitive buttons

    Android : Almost stock JB 4.3 with Qualcomm Battery Guru preinstalled. Other preinstalled softs are whatsapp, Twitter, Office suite, Email for Exchange, GAPPS

    Available on board Memory : 1.5 GB, in setting there is option to select default installation location as Internal / external memory

    GPS Performance : Excellent, better than my NOTE 2

    Software bugs : Has not hanged so far in last 10 days but when I installed SWIFT KEY, input method changes to default after every reboot or some times MAY BE randomly.

    RAM : I have not felt that it needs more RAM to do basic jobs or productivity jobs. I gave my son to play subway surfer to check if it stalls but he did not complaint. Office, E mail, Browser works smoothly. Large page rendering takes time probably because of Android stock browser and 300 MB Free RAM. RAM management is good. I have not observed phone becoming sluggish.

    Here is the comparison of unequals between

    Samsung NOTE 2 with 1.6 GHZ, Quad core, Exynos, Arm 7 CPU, 2 GB RAM (Free about 800 MB), Android 4.3

    Display resolution and size is biggest differentiators for the performance but for general use, I am sure LAVA 406Q will not lag.

    Both handsets are as debloated to max possible extent. Both has SKLAVEX call recorders running as service. In Note 2 has additional app running in addition were Cardio Trainer, Alarm and Bluetooth.

    Who is looking for decent productivity related performance (may not be good for demanding gaming) at good price may consider Android phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 CPU coupled with 1 GB RAM.

    I am not trying to be little Nilkeni. I judged him in the fact that he put across very important project for national security but when political system understood implications on illegal migrants and their vote bank they gradually watered down project and reduced it to merely a identity card for proof of address and DOB. Later they tried to portray it as essential tool to get subsides.

    While all these drama nilkeni had no courage to put his feet down and say I HAVE NOT COME FOR SUCH STUPID PROJECT.

    Some how I have a feeling and believe in feeling that nandan nilkeni is another MMS for Congress and ADHAR project shows that.

    Without any intention to defend politicians with proven criminal background, in given legal system giving criminal label for 5 to 10 years is a joke. If you are a husband and if wife files 498A person will be behind bars for 1 day to few weeks and will remained labeled as criminal till aquitted.

    We must keep in mind that our political system is gift of our collective mindset. We need to work towards development only. Eventually we will be able to take care of everything. What we are doing is distributing poverty in name of subsides, welfare schemes and other pro poor policies.

    There are people critical to gujarat model but only seeing is believing. Here due to extensive industrial qnd agri development to remotest area farmers have became rich and their children are studying for engineering or medicine.

    I must mention that 80% of people whom I meet are not the one who like to take risk and grab opportunity and for them life is still same. Only difference they have is their virtual wealth has increased. But they still have to sell their piece of land to cover expence of daughter marriage. Now instead of 5 lakh for a piece of land they get 25 lakh and they spend 25 lakh on marriage instead of necessary 5 lakh hence they remain at the same place. outsider meets these 80% and in my opinion they will remain like this until they are ready to accept challenge of changing times.

    I have used this application on android phone and it works pretty well as DASH CAM

    It starts recording as soon as phone is connected to charger and stops recording once charger is disconnected.

    Once can buy low cost JB handset and install with appropriate car mount and charger to have fully automated DASH CAM. In case of need can be used as NAVIGATION system if SYGIC is installed.

    I am currently hospitalized since last week and must stress the need for hospitalization cover and mediclaim - medical expenses are extremely high

    I will read in more detail later but for the moment could you please advise on

    - mediclaim (struggling to get cover for my parents who have just turned 60 and have diabetes/cardiac disease background)

    - pet (dog) insurance (very popular abroad but almost unknown here)

    I am posting without any permission of hitesh hope it is alright. I have no knowledge of financial products.

    I have given health insurance policy to my staff members from indian bank (arogya raksha) they offer only family policy (proposer, spouse, children - upto 2 and dependent parents). They settle claims without much hassle so please check with bank.
