  1. I'm not agree with above comments, they are improving their network constantly. I've not faced any single call failure for last two months. Data speeds are improved. I'm from Ahmadabad, speed is improving day by day, right now on roaming in Chennai, I'm getting speed between 10 to 30 Mbps. My airtel number is struggling to get good speed and voice quality is also reduced on airtel. Jio is going to be strongest network in India till the end of 2017.

  2. SMS sending to special numbers starting with 5 & 6 fails with error 29. (For example HDFC bank SMS banking number 5676712). Complaint was lodged but closed without any resolution. Upon escalating to apellate authority, they have informed that sending SMS to special numbers is currently disabled system wide for all. They were unable to mention any timeline when this will be enabled.

Top up your jio balance, as special numbers are chargeable and you have 0 main balance, so after recharging with top up, you should be able to send these sms.

  3. I have a Vodafone SIM, a MTS SIM and a Jio SIM.
As MTS has been acquired by RCOM, I don't feel safe with MTS, though network is still excellent. Will porting to Jio be a wise decision?
Becoz, often I find that when data is on, I can't make outgoing calls at 1st attempt nor I am getting incoming calls.

  4. Vodafone is offering Free Voice calls & 28GB Data for ₹ 346/- fro 28 Days (Offer valid till 15th March ONLY).
Further on first recharge it is giving Buy one get One Free too - Means 56GB Data for 56 days with Free calling Valid for 56 Days for the price of 346/-
    Dial *121# and check yourself.
    I am going for this.
Act fast before things change. (Jio effect)
    http://indiatoday.intoday.in/technology/story/vodafone-28gb-4g-data-unlimited-calls-rs-346-beats-jio-price/1/895886.html
Quote from the news "Vodafone will also offer double data (56GB) and double validity (56 days) the first time a user activates this pack - 1GB of 4G data daily for 56 days at just Rs 346 might just be the deal of the century."

Airtel, Vodafone and Idea launched plans ranging from Rs.340-350 a month offering between 500 MB to 1GB of data per day to its subscribers to prevent them from porting out to Jio. Before this they were selling 1 GB for Rs.250 so usage was low and their last century network was able to run smoothly with that load.
But from 1st April when the usage increases over 10 fold, their towers which lack the fiber backhaul like Jio towers, will start to choke and people who once thought of them as premium networks will change their opinion based on lower performance.
But even they know their network isn’t ready for this kind of load, so instead of launching these as open market offers they are selectively giving it out to their high revenue subscribers whom they feel are more vulnerable to switch over.

  6. "lot of problem.." Can you name a few problems?
I am also using Jio since last year September onward.
If after porting someone doesn't like Jio he can always port out again after 90 days.

Problem is my 90 days are not over.
There is problem in voice clarity, incoming & outgoing: other operator allows 2 calls out of 10. Internet speed is very slow in daytime.

I've ported to Jio because of 850 band of Jio, as I was using reliance CDMA prior and connectivity of CDMA was very good in our office, since Jio has taken this band from RCOM, I ported. I'm not saying Jio's services are not good but they are yet at experimental phase, they have not started more than 50% of towers in Ahmedabad (as information by Jio technical departments employee). After commercial launch their service may be good but till now, you have to face problem. It's very annoying, when other side can't hear you.

  7. Updated to MIUI 8 recently. One of the best feature is not advertised or highlighted. Now there is a default Dual App option in settings which lets cloning of any app and running two instances of the same app together. I am presently running 2 Whatapp with 2 different numbers, both running at the same time.

You can use 4 whatsapp, 2 more in second space..

  8. Legally they can change any plan after 6 months. So u ll loose case in court. Even if u file 100ppl together. Moreover as per a supreme Court order against bsnl, u can never file a consumer case against a telecom company. U have to complain to nodal n appellate only.

Legally my plan was changed only 3 month prior to change, further they promised to keep same plan for 6 month after migration. We can very well approach to consumer forum, order of BSNL pronounced on 2009 was overruled in 2014. You can go to consumer court without any issues.

  9. I am finding Rel 2G not getting connected from my home about 20 to 30% time. Is there any chance of improvement perhaps after CDMA is completely closed? My CDMA Wipod is still working, and the new 4G wipod is showing no signal (Kerala, Calicut) so CDMA is still not switched off. I had tried Idea and Airtel in between, but they also have the same problem.

Is it possible to use a signal enhancer? The cheaper ones (

You should wait for commercial launch of Rjio to port, as Rjio will get same coverage of CDMA on 850 band and it's Volte will give you nice sound clarity, as I'm facing same issue with RGSM in my office, but I can make crystal clear call with Rjio, although data speed on this Location is very slow, i. e 3 Mbps, while at other places it's 10-55 Mbps.
In my circle RCom 4g started but there is no improvement in voice.

  10.

Rjio does not seem to be confident on their VoLTE.  It supports though an app. Rjio is good for data but not good enough to replace conventional voice technology. It is still in beta stage. So, for now, Rjio too will be the secondary phone only.

    Karnataka circle

I had recharged with Rs.1/- via PayTm after registering the 4G SIM collected from RCom Mobile store at my location.

on the day CDMA-GSM migration was done at my location, 1GB 2G data (1024MB) was credited with validity of 30 days [to check Data balance SMS keyword: MBAL to 55333]. the moment one sends SMS keyword: Start to 1925 the remaing 9GB is credited under 2G Data with the same 30 day validity [at present my balance is 10239.93].

unfortunately, at my location RCom 4G is not ready yet!. checked with RCom 4G SIM in Lyf Flame 2. so my 10GB will expire beform 4G network is ready!

    following points may be noted:

    • Ensure that, your handset supports 850MHz LTE (Band 5) for RCom 4G.
    • Don't SMS keyword: Start to 1925 unless you receive SMS from RCom that 4G is ready at your location [even if Reliance 4G appears in network search]
    • There is no VoLTE support in RCom 4G, for Voice & SMS it will be Circuit Switch Fallback to pathetic 2G/3G Network
    4G Liyo to Jio

    best wishes

Calling from Lyf phone is far better than pathetic RGSM. Voice is crystal clear..
