    Sold Out.

    Reliance Communications, which had announced the first on contract plans for the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C, has reportedly sold out its initial quota of the devices. The company has finished the entire stock within the first three days and now is left waiting for fresh stocks. The provider has meanwhile received a whopping 10000 bookings for both the devices.

    The iPhone 5S could easily be the most device for Apple in India. The company has apparently sold out its first inventory of 30000 units within the first 24 hours. Besides Reliance, the devices are available with Airtel but off contract. Apple is expecting to garner at least Rs. 1000 crore from the sales of iPhones in India.

    Samsung begins Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 Android 4.3 update roll-out

    Hi guys.

    My Laser Printer (LaserJet M1136 MFP) cartridge's ink / toner is about to finish.

    The cartridge model is 88A (cc388a).

    The options I have:

    1. Buy a new HP Cartridge @ 3200-3300.

    2. Get it refilled.

    3. Buy a compatible cartridge from ebay @ 800-900.

    If I choose to get it refilled, I don't know if this cartridge has any chip that also needs to be replaced or not.

    This cartridge has never been refilled earlier. It is same cartridge used in entry level HP Laser printers like HP P1007.

    Suggestions please. :)

    Microsoft buys Nokia's devices unit in a $7.2 billion deal

    One of the most enticing "what-ifs" of recent years has come true: Microsoft has purchased Nokia's Devices and Services unit, bringing the Lumia lineup under the Redmond roof. The move unites Windows Phone 8 with its biggest hardware supporter, giving the company the integrated mobile offering it's been looking for with Surface and other devices. When the deal closes in the first quarter of 2014, Microsoft will pay 3.79 billion Euros for Nokia's business, plus another 1.65 billion Euros for its portfolio of patents. (The 5.44-billion Euro total is considerably less than Microsoft paid for Skype in 2011.) 32,000 people are expected to transfer from Nokia to Microsoft, including 18,300 that are "directly involved in manufacturing."

    The purchase comes on the heels of what appeared to be a failed acquisition in June, at which point it seemed conversations had broken off entirely. Now the two come together, in what outgoing Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer called "a bold step into the future." In an email, Ballmer cited the Lumia 1020 as an example of what the companies could do together, but said the phone hadn't caused the marketshare bump it deserved. "Now is the time to build on this momentum and accelerate our share and profits in phones," he wrote.

    I have one more query, I have used my i3 (Second Generation) laptop to play 3D-HD movies via HDMI cable ; but it was not as smooth as with my old 7 year desktop AMD X2 4400 (2.3 GHz) with GTX470 GPU.

    Will Pentium 2010 will have enough muscles to place such kind of media?

    I am using G2010 and its awesome. Absolutely butter smooth. Maybe your laptop's onboard graphics is the culprit.

    AMD E350 is also around 6 K with 4 GB RAM; price wise it will be similar to Pentium 2010.

    AMD E350 (intergrated MB+CPU) is cheaper @4.1k. whereas G2010 + Motherboard will be around 6.4k. RAM (4GB DDR3) is extra in both option @2k approx.

    have you notice any clarity in movie payback with respect to NVidia GTX470 vs ATI vs Intel on board?

    Never used GTX470.

    I am not much concerned about True-HD as my TV does not support it (Panasonic VT-20-PD50). Probably in future I might upgrade to decent HT system.

    can you please let me know cost of motherboard, CPU and graphics card you are having?

    probability AMD FX6300 or Intel I3. I already have GTX 470 graphic card; I want to rebuild my HTPC for playing 3D and HD movies on my Plasma TV using HDMI;

    can you please suggest me any good deals or other alternative for it?

    Hi.

    For HTPC, even an Intel G2010 will work 100% great. No need to buy i3. I am using it in my HTPC and it plays 40GB Blu-Ray ISOs with HD-Audio (DTS-HD-MA, Dolby True-HD) effortlessly (with HD6450 graphics card). I have chosen a Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H motherboard because I wanted SATA-3 (6 gbps) and USB 3.0 ports otherwise a Gigabyte GA-H61M motherboard should have been fine.

    Sorry no idea about AMD processors & motherboards except AMD E350N Motherboard+Processor fusion which is ideal low powered, low cost solution for HTPC. It even plays HD-Audio.

    By the way, GTX 470 does not support HD-Audio (DTS-HD-MA, Dolby True-HD). You have to be content with downsampled LPCM or DD/DTS. It should only bother you if you have lots of media with HD-Audio.

    Hi Guys,

    Good time to buy a WiFi Dongle for your Tata Sky+ HD at just Rs.100/-. :)

    I requested Tata Sky in the evening of 3rd June to connect my Tata Sky+ HD with my router for VoD etc. by sending SMS "CONNECT" TO 56633.

    Yesterday, I got a call from Tata Sky (Hyderabad) that connection with Ethernet cable is free and they have just launched a WiFi dongle which costs Rs.1200/- but they are giving it for Rs.300/- as introductory offer. Good offer in my opinion. I immediately said yes. Then I got 2-3 calls from Tata-Sky (Gurgaon) that it has been launched but they don't have stock. The stock is expected in 2-3 days and they will call me after that.

    Today I got a call in morning at 9:00 AM that they got it and asked for suitable time to come and install.

    The guy came and install it, simple plug and play, no IP setting, no other setting. Literally 10 seconds job. He spent another 5 minutes in giving me demo by downloading sample video and playing it.

    In the meantime, I saw Rs.100/- printed on the packing. I asked him how much, he asked me how much I was told. I told him that I was told Rs.300/- but Rs.100/- is printed on the packing. He said that it is the first USB dongle he is installing so doesn't know about the price. He called up his senior and asked. His senior called back in 5 minutes (by the time demo finished) that it is indeed for Rs.100/- only. He took Rs.100/- cash and gave me receipt.

    Amazing price for ultimate convenience of WiFi and 802.11a/b/g/n 300 Mbps dongle. All in all I am happy customer. :Sorprendido:
