  1. I wanted to buy a prepaid RUIM but buying Classic 732 seems to be a better idea. A RUIM will cost me 250 rupees or so and this mobile including RUIM costs just 999 so cost of this mobile comes to 750 rupees for me. And someone can use it once in a while. :)

I went to buy this today with someone who is using a mono classic he tested it and found that it is faster than his mono classic. But it was available only in white and was looking cheap.

Is it available in balck also?

The cost of a new number is Rs.99/- with 0 balance and 7 days vaility and cost of lifetime validity recharge, I have been told is, Rs.650/-. Is it correct for Delhi circle?

    Thx

  2. Well the margin looks lucrative if u r a one man shop, if u actually go in distribution, 50% of MRP goes on distributor+dealer+retailor's margin and cst and VAT and freight, ur office rent (even if u own ur office but still there is value), godown rent, office running cost, staff salary and other logistic expenses.. I know that coz I am running a business of import+distribution. It is not for mobile or electronics though where vat is just 4% but still u will not get 999 - 770 = 229 rs in ur pocket. :P

  3. Do all laptops have PCMIA slot where once can insert Reliance/Airtel data card.

Most of them have it, but check before you buy !

Most of them, THESE DAYS, dont have PCMCIA slots, including HP, COMPAQ andd DELL (clearly mentioned in their website, if u pick a model and see the detailed configuration).

But Most or all of the models of LENOVO have it.

Pls make sure to check it before u buy coz I am the one who has faced major problem because of this and I am having just 2 days used PCMCIA card lying idle with me because I did not confirm it before buying a compaq v3070tu.

  4. Hi

I went to webworld today so that I could get the connection terminated so that meter does not keep running and whenever I get someone who can use it, we'll take a fresh connection.

But I was told that if i get the connection of ZTE MC315 terminated, it will be useless piece of junk. It can not be used at a later stage, the other person said that may be after 3 months u can take a new connection but not at all before that. They themselves were looking confused.

Guys pls suggest me what should I do? should I get it terminated or keep on paying 665/- pm waiting for a friend/customer who can be interested in using it.

    Thanx

  5. Hi !

    I got one today.

I was planning to send emails etc to hp and cc to press/news channels but I got a call today and I was told they have got a couple of cards and there are hundreds of customers waiting so if I could come early.

    I paid Rs.3704/- as three months advance rental + 300 rs. other charges + 12.24% s.tax.

Though It has not been activated by now as there servers were down when i got it in the afternoon. (I tried dialling *228 few times ;) ). I was told that it will be activated tomorrow at 11am.

    Thanx :)

  6. Hi Supernova !

Can u pls send me a copy of the email sent to HP/Compaq (alongwith mail IDs u sent it to). I am also facing problems in getting the USB card which I am entitled to get within 15 days of buying my new compaq laptop. Everytime I visit reliance world, I am told that they will be getting it next week but today, I was told that it wont be possible before this month end.

Also, since u r using it, can we take out its RUIM, and put it in a handset or vice versa and use it.

    Regards.

  7. Hi ! Thanx.

Please confirm it with your friend. Then I'll get it terminated even today or tommorow because otherwise their meter will be on till the time I am able to sell the card even if I am not using it now. In that case, I wont be in that hurry to sell it off.

Yeah, 4000 seems to be fine since I am new to this and your opinion is unbiased so I think that should be the pefectly fair price. :)

    Regards.

  8. Thanx Soham !

I asked yesterday in webworld and I was told that there is a pending list of 1100 customer for the USB Data Card and It will take 20-30 days to get it.

He told me that for PCMCIA Card I'll have to find a buyer and they will transfer the name for Rs.500/-.

Pls suggest me what should be the fair price of 5-6 days old (it will be older by the time it is sold) PCMCIA ZTE Card.

    BTW, I am in Delhi.

    Thanx agn.

  9. Hi !

I bought a Reliance Data Card (ZTE MC315) 5 days ago on 25/09/2006 for Rs.4990/- with Freedom Plan (Rs.650/- / 1GB) for my Laptop.

After 2 days, a friend of mine told me that he wants to buy a used laptop. I thought it is a good chance to change my laptop so immediately I offered mine and he bought it at once.

Now yesterday (29/09/2006), I bought a Compaq Presario v3070TU and installed all the softwares and at night, I was just shocked to see that there is no PCMCIA slot in this new laptop. Details of this model are still not available on HP website and I had in my mind that all laptops have at least one PCMCIA slot.

Though, with this laptop, there is an offer. I’ll get a new USB data card EC325 ( Huawei) after paying Rs.3667/- for 3 months advance rental +tax+other charges. Now, I am very confused what to do.

Personally I like to have a PCMCIA card but I can manage with this external USB Card.

PLEASE suggest me what should I do? Is there a possibility of surrendering this PCMCIA card to Reliance or I’ll need to sell it off to someone? And what will I need to do for name transfer, etc. etc.

I am desperate to know your suggestions.

    PLEASE HELP!!!

    Regards.

  10. BTW, my link has still not been restored. I somehow managed to contact to their customer care executive on

18-July-2006 and requested him close my account and refund my money but he did not register a request of that. Instead, he kept on saying that it will be solved by evening.

I applied for MTNL 12 days ago (Airtel is not in my area - Rohini, Delhi) and I was assured that I'll get the connection in a week, but nothing so far. So guys, we are at mercy of these ISPs.

  11. Hi

I have been using Tata Indicom Broadband since November, 2004. That time I had paid Rs.3755/- (2755/- installation & 1000/- security deposit).

I have been facing all sort of problems since then.

From January to April this year, at night, some competitor used to cut the cable and it took 3-4 days to fix it and on the same night, the wire was cut again resulting to no link.

Then it worked fine for a month and half, and now since 12-JUNE-2006. The Connection is permanently dead.

If someone tries to call their customer care, he should be prepared to wait at least for 45 minutes (Try it to believe it by dialing 66500121, at least in Delhi) and whenever I managed to, I was assured that connection will be restored by the evening. Some of the times, their website is also down but situation is not that bad, I managed to register the complaint through the net.

The details of the complaints are:

If they have decided to discontinue, they should inform me at least and they should refund my full amount including installation because I am not backing out but they are discontinuing.

SECOND CASE, a friend of mine wanted to buy a VSNL dial up account. He had no credit card so he asked me to do him a favor and buy a 100 hours pack (Rs.898/-) online. I bought the account on 24/06/2006. My credit card was immediately charged which I checked through online banking. I got an email from VSNL :

“You will receive, consequent to this confirmation, the Serial Number and PIN for registration by email, and the pack by courier. On receiving the same, you will need to register your account on the VSNL registration website http://signup.vsnl.com

The following are the details of your transaction :

Date of Registration : Sat, Jun 24, '06

    Account Type : Connect 100

    Amount : Rs.898.00

    Applicant Email-ID : m_g@vsnl.com

    VSNL Order Number : 971990

    Payment Mode : Credit Card

    Bank Ref. Number : 971990”

But I never got any detail to register the pack. I tried to call the customer care but as usual after waiting for hours I managed to speak to an executive on 29th June, 2006 who confirmed that they have received the payment and she will forward the complaint to concerned department and my complaint will be solved in 3 days time. She gave a complaint number 42574629. But nobody bothered to sort it out and after that I could not spare more than half an hour in a single call to try to speak to customer care. Now my friend is after me calling daily and asking about his account.

Now, one can imagine, what is going on with TATA Indicom. Are they planning to shut their shop or what?

    Please help.
