  1. Is this a genuine Reliance Communications SIM Card? Why am I not recieving a call to verify my details on my registered mobile? CA Vikram Shankar Mathur
  2. LYF Flame 7S Review

I bought this from Reliance Digital in Hyderabad and been using it for 3 weeks so far. I bought it primarily for using Whatsapp and making phone calls. Here is my experience on both JIO and Handset: PROS: Data connection is ON almost 24x7. Speeds are like 3G, sometimes faster. Few times data connection does not work at some places, not that big a problem. I am satisfied. Signals quality is ok. Several times signals just disappear (those bars on top left corner). I thought my handset problem but two of my friends are using JIO SIM on Samsung and Lava A7+ phones and they have same problem. Hence not a handset problem but network problem. It happens like 5-7 times per day and it remains like that for 2-15 min. Bit less satisfied. Network Coverage is much better. I am using TATA DOCOMO and Aircel too and many times both don't have network but JIO has. Incoming/Outgoing calls are really tough business. JIO to JIO/Reliance/Aircel, all phone calls go smooth, connected in one try but for the rest you have to keep on trying anywhere from 2 to 20 times to get connected. Same for incoming from others. Completely unsatisfied Handset is okay. does not hang even if lot of apps are running. CONS: Handset Voice quality is very bad. I can understand only 50% of what other person is talking about and same for the person on other end. It is one of the worst voice quality in any handset I have ever experienced. Battery drains out very fast on 4G data ON 24x7. It does not even last till evening. I do use lot of whatsapp. I will advise to buy a better handset like RedMI 3S or something. Strange thing is when you look at the bill, Phone charger and Headset are listed as separate items from phone and charged separately. Just look at the bill. I paid 3499/- (Yes, I took 1 rupee back which every shopkeeper never thinks of giving back. As usual, gave it a vely old lady-beggar standing outside )
  3. Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani spoke at RIL's 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday. According to experts, one of the major focuses of the AGM would be regarding Reliance Jio — the recently launched mobile telephony, broadband services, and digital services provider. Here are the top announcements from the AGM: 1) Jio is dedicated to the Digital India vision of the prime minister, to my fellow 1.2 billion Indians and India. 2) India is 155th in the world for mobile broadband access, Jio will take the country to the top 10. 3) Jio has created an all-IP network. There is only language spoken on the Jio network. We will have a single digital mother tongue. The all-IP design also makes Jio's network the most expansive and future-proof network in the country. Jio is a data strong network built for the Internet from the ground up. By March 2017, we will cover 90 per cent of India's population. It is the first mobile network that is only 4G LTE. 4) All voice calls for Jio customers will be absolutely free. Roaming charges will also be zero across India. 5) The onboarding process will now be 100 per cent digital, using Adhaar-based EKYC, starting today from Mumbai and Delhi. 6) Jio apps bouquet will be available complimentary up to December 31 2017. 7) Effective rate of data would be five paise per MB, or Rs 50 per GB. 8) All complex telecom charges, like black-out days, eliminated. 9) Jio's services will be free of cost to all users from September 5 to December 31, 2016. 10) Jio's commercial launch will be on December 31. 11) Special offers for students with 25 per cent more data. 4. The new Nexus 6 is very easy to program. RGERUC and RECRUC068 work out of the box on this device. Data needs simple steps by DFS. Required:- Latest Motorola BP drivers, DFS Not required:- Root, bootloader unlock 1. Boot the phone into BP tools and select port "diag mdm" with no SIM inside and airplane mode turned on. 2. Make RTRE config to RUIM pref and reboot back to BP tools (can make it RUIM only after programming is complete) 3. Write omhxxx in ppp usr and S1912xxx in ppp password 4. Continue in data section in DFS, HDR SCP force AT config= RevA_MFPA HDR SCP force rel 0= Evdo_RevA Hybrid mode=enable Data MDR HSPD mode= MDR only 5. Insert RGERUC SIM and continue programming 5. Enable all six profiles in MIP section and write omhtestxx in all the six fields with MIP=Mobile IP 6. Reboot and enjoy.
  5. Due to a large section of buyers now opting to purchase GSM enabled CDMA device, I add another device for CDMA data provisioning. There are no special requirements to enable CDMA data on VZW G3. Root is not required. This is applicable to those users whose manual APN of #777 does not enable data. 1. From the dialpad, ##PROGRAM985, go to port test, switch it on. Diag mode will be ON. 2. With data enabled SIM inside, using DFS, go to data section and select, evdo_MFPA 3. Enable all the six profiles with omhtest@omh.relianceinfo.com in the MIP section fields and write. 4. May sometimes need to make APN as #777 if data does not start.
  6. Reliance CDMA EvDo users in Delhi / NCR?

Hi, I was wondering if we have any Delhi based group members who use EvDo data on Reliance CDMA network? Every time I raise a service request with Reliance about HSD network they say that I'm the first to complaint about that and they are unaware of any network issues. I guess I'm not the only one though. Who all do we have on board and what handset do you use? I'm Delhi based EvDo user and use Samsung Ace 2 duos (SCH-I589).
  7. Anyone knows how we can make the phone work with Reliance CDMA Sim Card. I bought a Virgin Mobile phone from Walmart USA and now came to India trying to make it work on CDMA. Though Virgin gave CDMA LTE network on USA but I unlocked bootloader and installed custom ROM to make it work on GSM network in Germany while I was on way to India and stayed in Germany for a week. All went well with same Moto E working with Lebara GSM in Germany and then after reaching India I inserted my Reliance CDMA card but still now able to make it work. I will put in points what all I have done so far Sprint has Boost & Virgin both with same ROM. So all mentioned ROM I installed was BOOST as no Stock ROM for virgin is available. Actually BOOST/VIRGIN both are same which I confirmed when I restarted phone and it showed the Virgin pop up software to activate phone. 1. I restored the Phone with Stock 5.1 (Surnia) ROM and inserted my old 2005 Reliance Simcard (manually cut) which showed network and did PRL Update, Profile Update, UICC unlock which went successful. Moto E 2nd Gen LTE manufactured after Feb 2015 have SIM lock which can be easily unlocked internationally when you on travel via UICC unlock method that allows you to use other SIM. Seems my phone is manufactured after that thus it showed all successful. 2. The only problem is when I dial any number the dialer flashes and nothing happens. It only allows *228 and the nice lady voice tell "My phone is already activated". I desperately want to see it working with phone calls. 3. I thought the problem is old 2005 SIM hence I bought new Reliance CDMA SIM (again manual cut as they din had Precut SIM). I again did *228 so this new SIM gets the Phone Number transferred as it was successful. It can also see the 3G symbol with exclamation on Network signal. I again tried the UICC, PRL & Profile Update but all failed with "Socket error" means no signal. 4. I thought latest Android 5.1 has issues hence I downloaded XT1526 Android 5.0.2 stock ROM from FILEFACTORY and tried but still the same dialer flash. 5. Some post suggested to get MSL code and unlock using the ##3282# -> EVDO -> DDTM to turn off which requires MSL/SPC code. I tried all possible ways on Internet and used MSL Reader, Installed SU and used Terminal Emulater to run "getprop ril.MSL" but all returned blank with no MSL code. This made me confirmed that no MSL is there in my phone and this phone is manufactured after Feb 2015 which has Domestic SIM Unlock policy and is open for international travelers. Can anyone suggest what I can do here to make Reliance CDMA network work with new Moto E 2nd Gen which I bought in Nov 2015. *#4636*#*# -> Phone Information -> Set Preferred Network Type -> Has All Frequencies available. In 2005 Sim it showed Network Type: 1xRTT In 2015 New Sim it shows Network Type: EvDO-rev.A Please provide me the way out.
  8. Hello Everyone , I am experiencing hassle in setting up internet connection on my Phone ZTE NSource. It was earlier working fine with Tata Internet with EVDO. I have bought this Phone recently. But as my home is in UP and I study here in Delhi. I had to switch the networks Tata to Rel and vice versa. So, as it was working fine with Tata earlier but now I tried to set it up for Reliance. Now even Tata in not working and also facing issue like the networks are going in and out again and again networks do not sustain. Tried to take help from the google but no help. Please help me in setting up my phone to Tata internet again and if knowledge of Reliance is also given it would be a huge plus. It would be my extreme pleasure if I can get my Phone running back as it was. After trying the same for last 10 days I have got some knowledge about QPST, DFS, CDMA Wares Workshop. And ready to learn something else if there. I will be able to do any steps instructed. However, do not know the meaning of the fields. ex. NV I do not know but the mode has to be set to NV for setting internet settings and then backing it up to RUIM (Removable User Identification Module) other terms like NAI, PAP, PPP, etc Also Attached the Screenshots where the settings that are needed to be done and I have some confusion what to put in all these blocks. Please let me know the settings needed to be done from the beginning that are to be done. Like if any other settings are also be done please let me know. This forum is my last hope. As I also contacted seller, Customer care but no help. Thank You! Regards Rohit
  9. As per the Android Police article here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/09/29/nexus-5x-vs-nexus-6p-differences-help-decide-one-pick/ CDMA connectivity on Nexus 6P will be avaliable for US as well as International variant (which we'll get officially in India). Nexus 6P (international version): GSM/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900MHz UMTS/WCDMA: B1/2/4/5/6/8/9/19 TD-SCDMA: 34/39 CDMA: BC0/1 LTE (FDD): B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/9/17/19/20/28 LTE (TDD): B38/B39/40/41 CA DL: B1-B5, B1-B8, B1-B19, B3-B3, B3-B5, B3-B7, B3-B8, B3-B19, B3-B20, B3-B28, B5-B7, B7-B7, B7-B20, B7-B28, B39-B39, B40-B40, B41-B41 Nexus 6P (US version): GSM/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900MHz UMTS/WCDMA: B1/2/4/5/8 CDMA: BC0/1/10 LTE (FDD): B2/3/4/5/7/12/13/17/25/26/29/30 LTE (TDD): B41 CA DL: B2-B2, B2-B4, B2-B5, B2-B12, B2-B13, B2-B17, B2-B29, B4-B4, B4-B5, B4-B13, B4-B17, B4-B29, B41-B41 No details whether it would be SIM or non-SIM based. But I bet it would be both MEID (non-SIM) + RUIM enabled like we have for Moto E (2nd Gen.) LTE Moment of rejoice for Reliance and other CDMA users out there! Edit: Typo corrected
  10. Mods: Please merge this with any appropriate thread - I could not find this information on RIMWeb. By default, on Motorola Verizon phones (such as Droid Maxx) cannot dial *228. You will get some "unrecognized SIM" error. If you have a rooted phone, then you can simply do this. 1. Download terminal emulator app from playstore 2. Once you have that installed, open it and the run the following command on the mobile itself. su pm disable-user com.motorola.setupwizard.phoneservice exit Now, you should be able to dial out *228. This does not guarantee that the phone will be activated on Reliance. If you get a message :unable to activate, then the next step is to call the customer care and lodge a complain. They will change settings on their end, which allow the activation (I am stating this based on personal experience).
  11. Hi RimWebians... I am sort of a newbie here.. I searched the whole forum for this topic but did not find anything related so made a new page. I have been trying to get CDMA RUIM working on recent Apple iPhones as iPhone 4 and 4S were the last iPhone I had made working and used on Reliance(via MEID Registeration). I have heard a lot about Verizon iPhone (Recent Ones - 5 5S 5C and Probably 6) work on CDMA RUIM maybe via tweaking or directly. Till now I have tried RUIM in Indian sets and US unlocked sets and can confirm non working. I met a man online who says he has tried RUIM in a Verizon Unlocked Phone and Calls and SMS work straight away. After researching more I came to know about a special sim that comes with MIN Programmed in it and you need to get your no. transferred over it (Via WebWorld). This sim when inserted in Verizon iPhone work with Data SMS and Calls all without any problems. Could someone throw some light on this matter. I tried searching over every area and wanted to know if the above is correct. If yes, then where can I buy these "Special SIM" that support data. I will be buying Verizon iPhone 5S and 5C accordingly. I have almost made my mind to order as it will work with GSM anyways but I want it to work with Reliance CDMA and with data if possible. Need Help from Experts. Thank You
  12. Hello, I am new to this forum. I just bought a new sprint note 3 which I want to use with reliance. This is my first time on cdma, and I am finding there a lot of things that are different. I have read the thread http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/36508-how-to-get-your-mslspc-of-samsung-galaxy-note-3/page-3?hl=%20sprint%20%20note and it seems there may be some problems with radio on some roms. Please suggest if http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2686052 (xnote rom) http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/development/rom-moars5port-t2836713 (moar s5 port rom) or any other will work best. Hopefully I will not have trouble getting everything working on my device. Any advice you can give me and pointers to which threads i should read to understand more about CDMA and get upto speed in general will be much appreciated. Thank you.
  13. Verizon's Novatel, ZTE and Pantech pocket routers are very popular in US. Initially, Novatel 2200 Jetpacks were based on NV mode programming only. Now the newer Novatel 4510, 4620L, 4620LE and 5510 are based on CDMA SIM slots. The ZTE 890L and Novatel 4620L/LE are global mode MiFi devices where any GSM SIM will work on the go. While Reliance 1x works instantly upon SIM insertion, Evdo does not connect and needs to be tweaked a little. And data on Tata Indicom does not work without these tweaks. Requirements for Reliance CDMA EVDO on SIM:- 1. We have to know the 8 digit HDR password of the RUIM before begining the process. 2. Download 4620L drivers. 3. Mifi should start installing various ports after installation of the driver 4. Using DFS, connect to status port and send SPC 000000 (the Jetpacks do not listen without this port) 5. Do not read or change any settings 6. Go to data and in HDR UID/Pass write A10000xxx@ in your HDR username, and the RUIM's 8 digit password in the password field. 7. Go to MIP section, without reading write A10000xxx or 'net' in the first profile, same in the RM NAI. 8. Reboot 9. Insert SIM and 3G connected. Requirements and procedure for EVDO on Tata Indicom Photon SIM:- 1. Using DFS, send SPC 000000 and go to MIP profile, enter 'internet' in the first profile and reboot. 2. After this change, any Tata SIM can be used since it has a universal MIP, unlike Reliance. (Any data pack with any denomination works) Note:- This is only for CDMA band of the Mifi. Router configuration is done by wifi by vz.hotspot or . GSM_WCDMA is global auto APN. ZTE 890L is fully unlocked and does not require any tweaking. This tutorial pertains to 4620L, 4620LE and 5510. None tested on MTS. Important update:- For Reliance, universal username/pass = net/net working for evdo on some firmwares and some firmwares need HDR username A1000xxx@hrpd.xxxx in first MIP profile in DFS and nothing else. HDR password is no longer required to work. Mifi4620_Drivers.zip
  14. Hey Rimwebians, Having a wonderful Moto G experience on Reliance CDMA (A Big thanks to Mr.Hitesh for that). However I am facing an acute problem with 'voicemail pending' notification. This notification pops up once in a while and is quite irritating. Have checked my voicemail and the inbox is clean. And cannot locate any other pending voicemail which could be deleted/read. Need the help of forum veterans and fellow members in getting rid of this problem. I have tried clearing the voicemail or disabling it from the settings, but none of it seems to work. Attaching a few screen snapshots showing the notification. Regards OT: If there is an already existing thread with similar issue, Mods may please merge it.
  15. Hi, I am using a Lenovo A600E and ZTE C600 handset on Reliance CDMA 1x network. The SIM card I am using is a standard Reliance CDMA SIM card, which works on ZTE phone, but partially works on Lenovo phone. The main problem I am facing is that Lenovo handset doesn't read SMS stored on SIM card. I have contacted reliance tech support, lenovo tech suport, and ZTE tech support, but all of them seem to be clueless about this issue. I feel it may be because of Lenovo not fully supporting CDMA 1x sim card. Lenovo probably needs OMH handset to read sms from sim card. I have about about 100 SMS stored on ZTE phone, which I need to transfer on Lenovo handset. I have tried to copy SMS from ZTE phone onto SIM card, but lenovo set can't read them. I also can't route those SMS thru' another number back to my handset, as this way I will loose the SMS headers too (incoming timestamp of network). So, I am looking for a CDMA (or preferably CDMA+GSM dual sim handset, if possible) which is capable of reading SMS from Sim card, and then copy them onto external memory card, or using a PC software, onto PC for backup. Budget is not a problem, I am only searching a right handset which can solve this problem. Please feel free to suggest any handset, if you are aware of any such set.
  16. For this process, HTC One Sprint M7WLS should be rooted and S-off. Google it for the procedure till here. 1. Open your favourite CDMA software and make the RUIM config as RUIM if avail 2. Boot the phone into fastboot and type the following commands a. fastboot oem rebootRUU b. fastboot flash zip CT3G_radio.zip c. fastboot reboot Link for the radio https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BylQ6RZ2mIP_UjBkcWd3T1lITFk/edit?usp=sharing 2. http://www.4shared.com/zip/Wh-_Fvsuce/CT3G_radio.html Your phone will detect CDMA SIM network upon reboot.
  17. Verizon has launched a ditto copy of Samsung Galaxy Stellar named Samsung Legend model no. i200.PP. This phone is marketed for their so called prepaid service. US sellers are getting confused or deliberately shipping i200.PP in place of the original Samsung Stellar i200 as the handsets are identical. This handset does not have a SIM card slot and the other distinct difference is in the MEID series. This phone has a series starting from A000XXXXXXXXX. Phone ships via 4.1.2 so hidden menu and other fixes and tweaks stop here. To map the diag port, download the attached utility. Use your favorite CDMA tool and a Samsung i605 password and the SPC will be displayed. Note that the SPC of this phone is not 000000 though its Verizon. All data parameters have been successful in programming this handset on our network. PhoneUtilss.apk
  18. Verizon Pantech Breakout is an unlocked CDMA OMH SIM handset where all SIM cards support calls and sms. There is no hidden settings involved in achieving calling and messaging. However it does not support data on RUIM of Reliance but with some minor tweaking, Tata Indicom SIM supports 3G/EVDO internet. Steps:- 1. Root the phone in few steps following this guide and the attached files. http://www.techychat.com/2013/05/28/root-pantech-breakout/ 2. After successful root, download and install root explorer 2.16 or older 3. Replace my attached build.prop in system folder and apns-conf.xml in system/etc folder, set all permissions and reboot. 4. Dial *#*#4636#*#* and select CDMA only Note:- Data on this device only works in evdo areas. there is no 1x support available on this phone. data icon will remain 1x in evdo areas and no data will work in 1x areas. Evdo speed is recorded on this 1x icon. After putting this settings, there will never be any need to change/modify any setting even after changing to any number of SIM cards. Also note that there is no success on Reliance RUIM for data on this phone till date. apns-conf.xml build.zip
  19. This guide will eliminate the process of HI-APN or any other APN backup apps, strings or scripts. Download the attachment apns-conf.xml on your desktop. This method works from 4.0.4 LF2 to MB1 4.1.2. Phone has to be rooted and bootloader unlocked. Install Root explorer.apk on the phone and place the file apns-conf.xml in system>etc folder. SU will grant permissions. This file contains APNs of the entire GSM networks worldwide, got it from Google code. 2G/3G will work as usual. This mod works on any custom ROM. 4.1.2 and rooting guide:- http://theunlockr.com/2013/04/02/how-to-root-the-verizon-samsung-galaxy-s-iii-running-android-4-1-2/ apns-conf.xml

  21. While configuring 1x and EvDO on Verizon Samsung Stellar i200, it is observed that due to more security on this phone, the phone goes offline while selecting CDMA bands. If the phone does not restore to factory NAM, then a downgrade to stock ROM is essential. If the phone goes offline on 4.2.2 or 4.1.2 (VRBMA1) it should be downgraded to stock 4.0.4 (VRALG4) via ODIN. As soon as phone boots on 4.0.4 ROM, dial *#22745927 and press ##72786# to clear NAM settings. Phone will be on Reliance network once it boots. Below are the factory images in case anyone needs them. 22. I have a HTC Desire VC with Reliance CDMA. I have OMH card installed and activated, EVDO activated and have subscribed to MOBILENET94 plan. This has been working fine from Jan till upto 2 days ago. Now net is not working. When I go to settings, under mobile network it says " Turning On" and is stuck there. I called Reliance Customer Care and they say my OMH card is not updated. But till 2 days ago it was working fine. I wrote to HTC and they say I have to factory reset my device. What I want to know is this - 1) Does it seem like a network / reliance problem or hardware problem? 2) Do you think a factory reset is necessary? 3) In case of a factory reset, do I have to activate OMH, activate EVDO and activate Mobilenet again? Please advise urgently and thanks. Regards Madhabi

  24. I have a friend's Sprint Galaxy Nexus S 4G to be workable on RCDMA. MEID is registered well and clean confirmation SMS was recieved. After putting NAM manually, we contacted Reliance WW yesterday evening, as always Reliance system for MEID swap was down and assurance of 24 hours was given. The friend had a OMH ruim previously linked to his number. Query is as of now still the *228001 does not go though and says your phone cannot be activated. I have screencasted his MIN on his laptop, Can I manually update the MIN to start on Reliance network?
