If Reliance Introduce GSM Partner Roaming for their CDMA customer then u can PLug that RUIM ard into GSM and use it.

If you Require International GSM Roamin Use that card in GSM Phone if you Require International CDMA Phone use that Card in RUIM Based CDMA Phone.

RUIM is Dual Mode one which already have GSM and CDMA Settings Inside it.

No thats not true, Reliance ruim is rejected by GSM handsets and SIMS are rejected by CDMA handsets. I have both.

The difference between GSM & CDMA is like petrol & diesel engines. can u use diesel to run a petrol car? NO.

But today ofcourse dual mode GSM/CDMA phones are coming in the market like Spice D88. But they still use two different SIM slots. 1 CDMA and 1 GSM.

Maybe you can just insert the RUIM card into a GSM phone and access the phone book, SMSs only. Just joking. Never tried it out yet, though I have 2 RIM RUIM enabled phones and also 2 GSM phones. Maybe will try it out leisurely and post here the results.

But now there are dual mode handsets that can add both GSM and CDMA. Surely, in such a handset it should be possible.

Believe RUIM card is made for use in Dual Made GSM and CDMA when it was fist Introduec in GTRAN the same card used to go along with GSM Handset in International Roaming.

May be the Reliance have to Made the new lot of RUIM Dual mode

I have read the Tutorial from GEMPlus World leader in SIM and RUIM card says the RUIM Standard is Backward Compatible with GSM but not compatible with UMTS Universal cards
