I had found the same RNC_VALUE on my Reliance Postpaid bill under the Netconnect Plan. Any ideas about the tariffs involved in this plan. And also please mention the various other Netconnect Plan options too..

My 6500 was stolen recently, now I am planning to buy another handset in the same series because I liked its features so much. 6600 is the model I am considering.

Does anyone on this group know -

- whether 6600 supports sending multiple SMS's?

- whether it has the Groups feature which allows one to send SMS's to a named group? This is very important to me because I am a teacher and frequently need to send SMS's to my various classes as a group. it is too much hassle to select multiple entries from the phone book every time.

- If group SMS is supported, then is there a limit to the number of persons you can have in one group and to the number of groups you can make?

- 6500 had a very big bug which I followed up with the company officials which they also acknowledged. I want to know whether it has been solved in 6600. The bug is that the Group SMS feature would work ONLY IF the persons in the group one was trying to create had ONLY their Home number filled. If any entry had other numbers (like Mobile number which is what one wants to use for SMS) in their entries, the Group feature would not work. It was exasperating. I had to store people's mobile numbers in their Home field, erase other numbers etc. But LG officials seem unconcerned about it, saying "Very few people use this feature." Experienced people please let me know if this features works properly in 6600 (if it is present at all, that is).

The salesperson at the RIM was unable to help me with this, so I need you guys' help.

Hi Dear Friends

Desktop downloaded. it works properly for MP3, Images, Movies TO do, Schedules & Memo. But my problem is I am not able to synchronise the phone book. Is there any solution for this. I am able to upload Phone numbers in UIM Card but not in Phone Memory

Please Help Me

Thanks in Advance

Should support this model too, as for me its is working for many LG models.

My Bad, some one has also posted a link to the exact software with driver, but since I have a bad habit of reading long threads backward hence posted the link too early, any ways that link is

http://www.lgmobiles.com/PCsync/RD6600_Syn...p;%20Driver.zip

But still I think that LG Desktop software should work with most of the LG sets.

hello friends,

I am going to buy new cdma phone. After exploring the forum and other sources, I narrowed down my search for Samsung MAX and LG 6600. Now please suggest me which one will be better. I want to choose a phone which has better battery backup, signal reception and reliable in service.

Thanks in advance.

Subject: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Problem with Display

Hello,

I was updated by Mr. Prasad from LG that the complaint has been forwarded to their HO and also the R&D department but cannot commit as to when there would be a resolution.

LG states that the mobile is as per Reliance Specification and also the literature mention this.

http://www.lgmobiles.com/specs/Product%20Note_RD6600.pdf

states in the first paragraph

"LG RD-6600 is the perfect example of technology and innovation. With its built-in Mega pixel camera / video, complete with zoom control, and FM / MP3 player, the new RD-6600 from LG creates a totally new experience for mobile users everywhere. Metallic finish body, Built-in Bluetooth and external memory make it more useful to you. It has been designed with ultimate features on market demand."

Nowhere it does mention that the display is also metallic and the display would not be visible outdoors.

http://www.rcom.co.in/webapp/Communication...set/mobile.jsp# does not event mention that the body has a metallic finish wich includes the screen.

Can someone explain me the logic behind this:

Reliance offers Reliance Mobile World , Games and Mobile TV on this model.

Is a customer suppose to watch Mobile TV only indoors, play games indoors . Does this not sound ridiculous.

Secondly when someone goes to buy a mobile he would not ever think of asking the salesperson as to whether he can take the set outside in sunlight and check . Tomorrow you will come up with a new thing that a mobile can only be used outdoors and not indoors. Does this all make sense. or you would say a mobile cannot be used during rains etc. etc...

This becomes a very good case for me to complaint to Consumer courts as detailed below :

1. Shoddy product quality

2. Unsatisfactory after-sales service

3. Right to be informed about the quality and performance of goods and services.

CAN I KNOW THE ESCALATION PROCESS..

I still fail to understand that how come both the companies are pointing the fingers at each other.

He said that it was not a manufacturing defect and it was a Specification provided by Reliance to LG. He said that the mirror finish was a requirement and all instruments of this model has it. LG manufactured it as per specification and handed over to Reliance. When I asked him that does it mean that I should not be using the mobile outdoors -- he had no answer. He stated that it's clearly mentioned that the screen has a mirror finish. When I questioned him that nowhere it's mentioned that the instrument needs to be used indoors he had no answer. He also did agree it's a problem with the Model but not a manufacturing defect. It's the specification. He also asked me to get in touch with Reliance. I also told him that I don't go by who's given the specification but by who the manufacturer is. How do I know who's specified the Specification.

If I am indoors I can always be contacted on my landlines or I can make calls from my landlines. I don't need a mobile. If I cant see to whom I am making calls to or receiving calls from does it make sense.

This makes the instrument unusable outdoors which I feel is ridiculous. I feel that this is a manufacturing defect in the instrument. This mail is a notification of the defect to LG electronics, as the instrument is still in the warranty period. Further the battery discharges very fast. I have been using Nokia , LG and Samsung phones till today and haven't had such a problem. Currently I do have a LG6100 and don't have such a problem. Can this be rectified which I don't think so , If not I would request you to replace the same with some other model of my choice.

Well I wouldn't blame Reliance or LG for this.

When I bought the phone I was aware of two major flaws that it had

1. Display in sunlight

2. End key on the side

Courtesy : Rimweb and the dealer who sold this to me

So why do I blame someone, especially when you don't have any such phone in this price range in CDMA, the nearest competitor Samsung MAX is quite expensive compared to this.

Almost all phones with mirror finish have this problem.

However I have been using it (definitely with a lil difficulty) in the sunlight too.

I have change the Menu from Grid to List

and a lil adjustment with the background selection for message, i use the white paper background, so easily readable.

I know sunlight is a problem, but provide me another option like 6600 in this price range, i shall happily switch

I understand that visibility in sunlight irritates, but this cannot be regarded as a feature or defect as far as I understand, its relative.

The people who use it in covered areas or lo sunlight will not have this problem, in the same phone.

As far as consumer courts are in picture, I don't feel it is of any help, I contacted a lawyer in July to sue Reliance BroadNet, and was informed that the lawyers dont present cases in consumer court because of the pitiable facilities in the court premises.

Everyone using the phone will be delighted if this problem is solved.

Dear Abhishek,

What we consumers do is accept whatever the company says... We all need to unite together and put pressure on Relinace and LG. The crap that LG CC told me was that it was a specification from Reliance and its a feature. I think LG has just copied on of the feature from LG shine but missed the one with visibility.

As far as Reliance goes... bombard them with mails... First CC then Nodal officer , tell them to would file a complaint with the appelate authority and they come to senses. I also had a problem with Relinace Wimax . The Antenna malfunctioned and I could not connect for around 15 days somewhere in June. I had to log more thatn 50 tickets with CC. CC used to close the ticket as resolved without even confirming it from me. I must have written more than 20 mails detailing all the ticket numbers and the response. Finally I said I will download the forms and lodge a complaint with the appelate authority . Immediatly I got a call from ther backend team and Customer Care . I explained the same to them. It seems that CC in turn have to log a SO (Service order with the appropriate team ).. No SO was raised ...i.e, the team who were supposed to work on the case did not know the problem. They did not know that the local WIMAX franchisee had changed the antenna . Changing the antenna had resulted in change of the MAC id. Even this they did not know. Finaly I have received a waiver for the downtime.

Reliance CC is all crap....

So the point is we need to bombard Reliance and LG with mails and telephone calls.

We should also copy the mails to each other....so they know its just not one person whos complaining

There are many other bugs / faults in this particular model. I will try listing it in my next post....

Regards,

Sreeranga.VS.
