Korean handset manufacturer LG Electronics has introduced its new CDMA video camera phone - LG RD7230 in the market. The handset would be made available through the company's existing partnership with CDMA mobile operator - Reliance Infocomm in the Indian region.

"We have just launched the handset and in about a week's time, it will be made available through our Reliance partnership. Initially, the handset is likely to be launched in the metro cities and then it will be made available in other regions as well," said LG Electronics Mumbai liaison office VP- CDMA terminals KK Kushwaha.

The camera phone has a capability to record 700 stills and 30 video clips as well. Once the set is available in the market, a user would be able to share pictures and clips with MMS facility in handsets.

Some of the other features of the handset include 640x480 pixel imaging, recording in color and black & white mode, up to 9 sequential still shots, zooming capacity of upto 4 times when shooting stills or clipping a video, 1000 phone book memory with photo Ids and 3D avatar and five levels of brightness control.

"This handset will allow users to download at a speed of 144 kbps. We would be providing this handset on a national scale, however because of our policy, we cannot give out details about the number of handsets to be provided to Reliance, but it is a big number" Kushwaha added.
