From: ADPG3 Public Grievances <adpg3dot@gmail.com>

Sir,

It is to be intimated that in accordance with TRAI's regulations for

Consumer Grievance Redressal , your service provider/operator has

already established a three-tier grievance redressal mechanism, the

details of contact persons alongwith the details of their phone

number, fax number and e-mail id are available on TRAI website(

www.trai.gov.in) under service provider & Consumer group section and

the same may be referred to for expedient redressal of your grievance.

And this is my Answer to them

Subject: Regarding Restirctive Trade Practice from Reliance by not Allowing User Imported CDMA Handsets in Reliance Network

This is very autonomous answer I got from a Respected Ministry of India.

I have been following up with Reliance from last 3 to 4 years and nothing is getting done.

Neither they allow Foreign Handset to get activated into Reliance nor they Introduced the same handsets.

Now Reliannce have Introduced HTC Diamond Priced @ 39900

Source: http://www.topnews.in/rcom-htc-join-hands-...51-india-278884

And the Same Phone in GSM is Launched in Airtel @ 26000 this Surely means Reliance is ripping indian Consumers by making it compulsory to buy only from them. In all GSM Company we can buy any Handset from Any country and Activate it just by Inserting a SIM Card. this make GSM Handset price more Competitive. But in CDMA Reliance and TATA Dont allow such things and make the customer compulsory only to buy from them. If anybody get CDMA Handset from any other country they Refuse to Activate it in Network though its Technically feasible they dont allow us to do it.

our own Ministry have become slave of Reliance and they never Order such company to stop Such a Restrictive Trade Practice. When ever i write any mail for this Reason i only get Autonomous Machine Answer for my Mail and never get the Resolution.

Hello Hetal

I just wanted to clarify one thing, as i am not much of a technical person. So when buying a cdma phone from overseas, we must make sure that the spc esn is clear.. 000000.. right... have been trying to buy a new phone, but was worried it would not work on the cdma network here.. Please let me know. I do appreciate it.

Thanks

If we set SPC as 000000 and load Proper PRL it can be activated in Any network subject to Network allow it.

In India this can be done easily in TATA but not in Reliance

At the same time cdma implementations are so stupid that it could happen like tata where phone working today may not work tomorrow if they upgrade or change hardware.

60-70% of the RimWebians may not understand this thread.

Leave alone newbies, as this itself seems far technical in nature..

Rimmed members are certainly cribing more than they actually act.

I have very little hopes that reliance will ever listen to such request, recent tata problem will make them think twice before taking decision beyond their technical abilities .

Cdma is far more complicated in terms of implementations.

I have fully stopped CDMA Service taken Least Chargable Local Plan and Diverted my Calls to Airtel unconditionally, Registered my New Mobile Number from HDFC to Stock News Updates.

But still i am Interested helping CDMA Community for this. I won't be interested even Reliance Start EVDO also. Becuase what the hack we gonna do if Reliance is selling Victor @ 39000 without any Great Support.

I am Happy with EDGE or Airtel @ 8kbps who want more then that to just See Email or Chat on Google or Yahoo. in Office and Home My HTC G1 detects WiFi and make it Preferred Network for Browsing.

GSM PDA are Cheaper / More Hackable / Good Quality and they are Introduced very very timely. in CDMA We get the Device when Manufacturer think they is no Hope left to sell it on GSM Network.

Hello RimWebians it in your Interest take little pain and Shoot the mail.

This is how I shifted to GSM. I dierted all my calls to my new airtel number. GPRS is much slower than 1X in CDMA but certainly, its peace of mind.

^^^^

I am on Reliance and not losing any sleep either; have absolute peace of mind; good handsets are now available at half the cost of gsm (a-la sadikk); my bill is nearly half of my gsm counterparts; all network and internet is working; network available in all remote locations; so cdma is not that bad after all; only thing is limited choice of handsets...

@dkaile

That is the sole reason we are discussing in this thread for Foreign ESN,

Its never the Network, Calling Charges, Rental Plan which fascinates me. Its the Handset and Add Facilities which Fascinates me a lot.

@ Kalpak

I am Getting Stable rate of 97 kbps this is Same as we got in Reliance + AirTel is less Blocking in Normal Browsing of Web Site or Email or Chat compared to CDMA 1x Data

Yes with more than 20-30,000 members we should at least be sending them 2-3000 mails; I think all new members are just interested in solving their problems and when it comes to supporting Rimweb, they are all sleeping...

very true. thats why we all are suffering. Already sent mail to dot.will be sending to rcom also
