dear members,
the shifting of big tv to other place they charged an amount of Rs.750/- The shifting charges of 750 is too high. so just think before you buy the big tv.

Shifting is almost like a new installation for them, hence they might be charging that high.

This Bhaskar Polisetty VSS. I have taken BIG TV Connection in Chennai on 26/08/2008 through Reliance Web world, RA Puram Invoice Ref 1502766464.

In the month of October, 2008 I have shifted from Chennai to Bangalore.

As Instructed by the Big TV Customer Care, I have recharged my account for Rs.750/- towards uninstallation in Chennai and Installation in Bangalore. The recharge has been done on 07th October,2008. The Recharge coupan numbers as as follows: 8003346465 (Rs.500/-) , 8005842740 (Rs.200/-) 8004234599 (Rs.25/-) and 8004234598 (Rs.25/-).

I have called up the customer care on 18002009001 and raised a complaint for Change of Address, Un-installation in Chennai, Installation in Bangalore.

The Issue is :

1. Till now the Un-installation / Installation had not taken place.

2. I have contacted customer care requesting the status of the said complaint, I was shocked with the answer given by the Reliance.

According to them the complaint has been closed with the comment that - Customer is un-willing to pay the relocation of expenses of Rs.750/-. But when I told them the voucher numbers and the date of recharge, they confirmed that the recharge had been done successfully.

And again they have raised almost 7 complaints. In all cases the response has been updated as customer is un willing to pay the relocation charges.

The first complaint has been given on 07th October, 2008 and today it is 01st November, 2008. I don't have any clue what I have to do. Call Centre executives not at all giving any professional response.

There is no escalation process as such for the Reliance Big TV. I am suffering and harrassed by the Reliance BIG TV Team for almost one month even after paying the relocation charges.

There is no other number to contact the senior people for BIG TV other than the toll free number.

I have only option left out is to seek the help from the consumer court.

I really tired and wexed up with the services of Reliance BIG TV.

As a last resort I am writing here to seek any other adivse.

Thanks and regards,

Bhaskar Polisetty

Tata has reduced the charges to Rs 600 for complete transfer.Where they provide the stuff.

If only transfer then rs 300, where you carry everything yourself, they will just come and install the same

I was shifting my house in Chennai and I called up Big TV who informed that they charge Rs 750. A service Engineer called me a few hours later and told me that if I could remove the dish myself, I can save Rs. 350 - simple logic: removing the dish is much easier than installing. So I removed the dish myself by unscrewing a few nuts and took it to the new house. I called up Customer care once again and told them that I've moved the dish myself and only needed to install it. I was told I'll be charged Rs. 350. A service engineer called me in 30 mins, came to my house and installed the new one, taking care of the extra wiring and connecting it. So the TV was up and running in about 2 hrs after we moved to the new house. Some might say I could've installed it myself but I really wasn't sure about finding the right location on top of my 5 floor apartment, screwing it up using a drill machine, getting the cable run to the ground floor and getting the pin connected. SoI just choose to let a professional do it.
