Dear Hetal Bhai,

Any idea about how to get GPRS working on Blackberry 8830(Purch from Sadik Bhai, excellent handset) When i send message "All" to 55100, i get a message" your handset information not in database". any workaround? :signthankspin:

Just call customer care and tell them that u tried sending sms "All" to 55100, but u havent got the settings.. hence pls activate gprs on ur number, And tel them ur handset is Nokia E63, ( dont tel them u have BB 8830), and they will activate the gprs on ur number ... then in ur handset APN setting put rcomnet save exit and ur done...

There is Monthly Plan (auto renewal) Rs. 99/-(300MB)http://www.rcom.co.in/

Also you have to go into rworld on ur handset and chose ur plan to get it activated .. if rworld is not reponding properly on ur handset then again call CC and tell the that u have Nokia E63.. and get ur desired plan activated.

Hey Guys, Team,

Don't know if anyone can help. I ve been struggling since a while to configure the MMS on my Iphone.

I called RCom GSM, and they say the MMS is activated. So i entered the following settings

APN: rcommms

MMSC : http://10.239.221.47/MMS

Proxy Server Address : 010.239.221.005:8080

User Name = leave it blank

Pass word = leave it blank

I tried switching on and switching off the phone.. but still cannot send a simple picture, or even a short text by MMS..

Anyone can help ? how to do with this Iphone ? Did i miss something ?

Huge thanks to all of you for help !!

Hi Guys

Found the solution... In fact...Even if you never enter any MMS settings.. you need to do first.:

-Reset all network settings.

It will automatically restart the IPHONE, then add the settings.

And try.

If it doesnt' still work...Switch on and off again, and it should work.

Cheers

Is anyone able to run Opera mini with the rcomwap apn?

I have not been able to get Opera Mini 4.2 work with rcomwap, on my Moto. Works fine with rcomnet though. But now that tariffs for both are same, I guess it shouldn't matter.

You seem to be the guru on Reliance, please help

I have got an iphone 4g and i was trying to set up the GPRS setting on it, i have tried various things like

1)Puttinthe cellular data settings

APN rcomnet

Username (blank)

Password (blank)

2) Internet Tethering

APN rcomnet

Username (mobile no)

password (mobile no)

3g access and data roaming switched off!

I dont know what am i doing wrong for as to access GPRS/ EDGE on my mobile. Upon calling customer care, they are asking me to update the phone from apple service centre, which i find is weird.

It worked beautifully for my 02 XDA IIS handset, with GSM post paid facility on it, but I am struggling to get this working on my Nokia X6, any advice ?

  1. Support Enhanced EDGE with Fiber backbone which can give Pratically 220 kbps speed to Latest EDGE Handsets
  2. Only GSM Network which Support Over The Air (OTA) time Sync (Automatically Sync Phone clock to Network the way it happens in CDMA)
  3. SIM Toolkit Version 2.0 Support, All SIM Card is power which STK Version 2.0 which can make Automated Configuration Request, OTA PRL and Commands Updates. OTA SIM Contact Updates and Programming, Handset Initiated SMS etc.
  4. R-World (The Same R-World) intranet WAP Site is extended to GSM Network users also. If your have GPRS / WAP Settings Enable you can Access R-World and manage so many things the way we did it in CDMA Service. You can reach R-World by Visiting http://wap.rworld.co.in on your Handsets
  5. Assisted GPS, All Tower of GSM / CDMA is suported with Assisted GPS, i am not sure that Reliance extend this Feature to GSM Handsets
  6. Frequency Beaming / Shapping. To Better cover and reused Spectrum they have got latest Towers from Trenqx from Canada which Shape / Beam Frenacy to only Targeted Area, so Same 4.4 Mhz can be Devided in 4 Slice and 4/1 Network can be made.
  7. Call Waiting / Call Diverting Feature can be Activated using The GSM OTA commands or By Dialing *62*93xxxxxxxx#
  8. MCA / Missed Call alerts is allowed but dont know about Status
  9. Caller Tunes is working fine we can Activate using SMS, Calls to 51234, R-World or from rcom.co.in Website using Mobile Number and Password.
  10. RCom.co.in site can be use to take login Create A/c for Mobile and pay bills and view Unbiled Usage (Same as CDMA)

iPhone will not Support WAP Setting because of non Support of Proxy based Internet, iPhone will require Pure Reliance GPRS Setting. and also iPhone will not support RWorld because of non Proxy Support.

Google G1 Support only one APN Settings means either it will support RWorld or MMS or Internet

(Now Google based Android Support Multiple APN just set type = default (for internet) and type = mms (for MMS))

I tried the below settings for both "internet settings" and "wap" in my Nokia X6, its still not working, although Reliance guys did tell me it will take 24 hours more for GPRS to be activated on my number.

Weird thing though is, I have another GSM number, and I did not have to ask them to activate GPRS but net worked just fine on my 02 XDA IIS

If someboidy have Activate Rs. 303 Unlimited GPRS and have GPRS APN Settings Please post here, i want to Test Internet Speed on my phone

Have the settings changed?

I am trying to use rcomnet to surf the net through mobile phone. I have Reliance GSM postpaid, and my handset is LG P500(Android 2.2)

I sent sms M99 to 51234 and got back the message that my data plan will be activated shortly.
