Iphone 3g In Uae

Recommended Posts

i saw an adv of new iphone 3G in TV, so searched net and found the following

"Etisalat's powerful 3G mobile broadband network offers 3G mobile phones download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps and upload speed of 1.9 Mbps. Etisalat's 3G network currently covers 99% of the populated areas in the UAE. "

Does 3G network provides upto 7.2 Mbps speed ?? :Sorprendido:

Etisalat does provides great speeds but their plans are useless (read too costly). Check them here

Iphone 3G plans

Other phones

Plans for BB are much more affordable, but you cant use it as modem, its disabled by Etisalat.

Today's exchange rate is approx 1 AED = 14 INR

Not only 3G, Etisalat is costly in all its services. Consider you can call UAE from India for approx Rs 7/min, while to call India from here the rates are AED 2.4/min (~ Rs 30/min)

when will india have a full fledge 3g services, license have already been given out, but still to see any operators to bring out any 3g service, whateever new technology or a service comes, for it to be successful, it should be affordable and easy to use by middle class and poor people

Balbir spectrum for 3G services is yet to be given to private operators. Only BSNL & MTNL has got the spectrum for 3G & they are implementing it. So wait & watch.
