Would love to have such speeds while on the move. Hope it is launched all over India, because we normally require them while on tour

If it's EVDO then the speed should be atleast 600 to 800 Kbps. Is this half EVDO?

My friend, I think u are confused between kbps and KBps

1 KBps (kilo Bite per sec) = 8 kbps (kilo bit per sec)

so 353 KB/s = 353 x 8 i.e. 2824 kbps

which works out to be approx 3 Mbps

^^

I thought 3 mbps = 1024 x 3 i.e. 3072 kbps ?

353 KB/s would be around 2.8 mbps as against 3.1 mbps advertised

word used is approximately.... and this is good enough by any Indian Standards available; also may vary from time to time; and we may also get above 3072kb....

I'm mot confused. I know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the actual downloa speed and not the bandwidth given. If uouvdownload on EVDO then download should happen at 700 to 800.

How is this equation? This is new laths for me. How is 1kbps=8kbps? Wow!!

If this is the case, then my download speed would be 5000kbps=5mbps on my cable modem. I would have been partying then.

I know someone who has taken the HSDCard.

Had to wait for 4-5 days more after commitment date, as stocks couldn't be billed at RComm's warehouse.

Is still waiting since the CAF/Bar code couldn't be recognised by their systems for activation.

The new HSDCards are pre-provisioned. No separate GSK activation required.. in built number.

The FUP scheme is really bad. they cap your speed+charge extra money! I dont think Unlimited plans should have such clauses. Its looting the customers. Reliance is charging igh amounts under the excuse of the FUP Scheme!

I had posted last year when I had been to USA that EVDO speeds were 600 to 800kbps. This was the standard worldwide which I understood. So when EVDO is set here then it should perform in similar manner. It's possible that they're trying to play around this by giving less now and increase to charge more.

To expect US speeds here would be unrealistic, as that also requires a very strong backbone structure which seems to be lacking or the service providers dont want to invest that much so soon; get ur taste of the 3Mbps connections and then hope for the best...

Is there any difference in the speed with both modems? Which one is working better.

Don't for Reliance is the company who has won best 3G award worldwide. This was 2 years back. So We can expect the same on performance. These are standards for the the world like how we have broadband mean 256kbps plus. Reliance has a strong backbone.

You are very much confused bro.

I had posted last year when I had been to USA that EVDO speeds were 600 to 800kbps

600 to 800 kbps??

Here we are getting 3200 kbps on EVDO

Isnt it great???

Ok Ok, If I assume that you have made spelling mistake.

you are tryin to say

600 to 800 kBps

How come 600 to 800 kBps on EVDO REV.A which is in USA only.

EVDO REVA. is max upto 3.1mbps or 3200 kbps or 396 kBps <<All things are same.

I had posted last year when I had been to USA that EVDO speeds were 600 to 800kbps.

600 to 800 kbps = 75 kB/s to 100 kB/sec = 0.60 Mbps to 0.80 Mbps

The maximum download speed achievable by EVDO Rev A. technically is 3.10 Mbps = 387.50 KB/s = 3100 kbps.

So when you say you got only 600 to 800 kbps, thats too low. Are you sure that you got that speed only when you used it in US?

If you are still confused, use this calculator: http://web.forret.com/tools/bandwidth.asp
