Blackberry Or Nokia Or Htc

Recommended Posts

Hey

Recently my friend asked me which Reliance CDMA handset he should buy given his constraints, and i realised how I'm disconnected from this forum these days and I had to tell him, give me a day or so and I'll get back!! So i'm making a come back here and i would be around on the forum more often now!

I went through several posts trying to figure out which handset would suit my friend's requirements. I would like fellow forum members to make their comments.

My friend is looking for...

1. Will be on Reliance CDMA network for as long Number Portability doesn't come

2. Has an existing Reliance CDMA number and doesn't want to change it till such time.

3. The current handset is in such a state that he feels embarrassed in business meetings (N6235)

4. Budget is 12k. (But given the handset is good, can stretch the budget)

5. Bluetooth, 512mb+ memory, Camera are must & Email, Browsing would be loved to have.

6. A Nokia Loyalist so far. (isn't sure abt Samsung, Blackberry or HTC performance and issues)

From my observations on the posts around, I narrowed down that Nokia 6275 still seems to rock and the prices haven't really gone down. (Thats insane)

Other's that I managed to narrow down were Samsung F309, HTC Wave & Blackberry Pearl.

Can you pls comment or recommend on any handset?

Welcome back after a long hiatus!!!

Why not try out Sadikk's handsets? They may be useful...

I would suggest you in this priority -

1. Mogul for around 15.5K (with full fledged WiFi, WM6.1, Sliding Keyboard, Expandable memory upto 32GB etc. etc.)

2. Treo 755p for 11K (Very Simple to use Palm OS, little dated OS, Great Touchscreen Clarity, Jagged Internet, no wifi)

3. Blackberry Curve for 10K (Blackberry services and internet wont work on sadikk handsets, otherwise good replacement to 6275, sleek, no touchscreen, no wifi)

All 3 are available from our inhouse Sadikk;

Blackberry which Sadik is having is 8130 Pearl. It is a good handset for non data users.

But I still wouldnt undermine the treo; its got a full qwerty keyboard and solid built quality; as a phone it beats mogul hands down; only when it comes to internet and data does it weakness comes through; it may be dead os but still beats the **** out of many others like blackberry; and its got thousands of downloadable applications roaming around on the net for every conceivable use...

i agree with you , i myself like palm os ..but its too old and hence been scraped off

but still it kicks *** .though , better than windows mobile os /bb os

since it is old enough i also has a huge databse of apps

but for people like me who need net connectivity on the go treo fails in that area

this is the only reason i have stopped using treo755 and shifted to mogul

Samsung 2On Dual GSM/CDMA @ 15k.

Lots of features: www.samsungcdma.in & more importantly a superb looking handset.

Also, as he is in business & could be on roaming etc. you can suggest him to go for a BSNL/VSNL GSM LT Prepaid card as a second SIM option which has excellent coverage where RComm cant reach.

Activate GSM only while on roaming so that youre never out of reach.. something has to work right ?
