Mtnl Comes With Free Incoming While Roaming

mtnl anounce that roaming is available on cdma garuda mobile. Now subscriber of garuda mobile in these two cities can roam to each other city. and tariff will be re1/3min for calls made to local mtnl network(gsm+cdma+landline) of visited city. all other local and std calls will be charged at Rs1.5/min. and incoming calls will be free

thats good.

but MTNLGaruda uses landline type numbering (8 digit preceeded by STD code - same as initital R-CDMA). so how roaming is going to work, are they supposed to allot temporary local no.s.

govt has given permission to allow roaming to mtnl and bsnl cdma service.soon cdma service will have 10digit no starting with 9. so initially they wont follow cheating procedure as done by rcom. Mtnl will contiue to use same 8digit number. and not allocating any local number. rcom was given license for only WLL and rcom was following illegal way of call forwarding to avail roaming service.

Roaming Facility between Delhi and Mumbai for Garuda Postpaid

mobile customers (w.e.f 8-6-09)

Roaming between Mumbai and Delhi for Garuda Postpaid Mobile will be available from 8-6-09 onwards. The features of this facility are as under.

1. This feature will be introduced with effect from 8-6-09.

2. The Roaming facility will be available by default for Garuda Postpaid Mobile customers only.

3. All Garuda Postpaid Mobile handsets will be programmed over the air(OTA) by default. However if any customer faces problem (especially Plan B customers) he may please be asked to contact *228 for assistance.

4. The Roaming facility between Mumbai and Delhi is free of charge.

5. Those customers who do not have the STD facility can dial only local calls while roaming. In case the customer wishes to dial national /Mumbai other operator numbers has to avail National dialing facility (STD). This can be done from any CSC as per the normal procedure.

6. A Delhi based subscriber when he is in roaming in Mumbai will be charged as per tariff of “One India Plan” given below: -

7. A Mumbai based subscriber when he is in roaming in Delhi will be charged as per tariff of “One India Plan” given below

8. Roaming calls will be rated separately and debited to the customer via debit notes. No separate bills or indication in the present bill for the roaming calls. However any customer wishes to have details of Roaming calls, the same will be provided by e-mail.

9. Incoming calls while roaming between Mumbai and Delhi will not be charged.

10. No Free Call Allowance/Discount will be applicable for Roaming Calls.

Dear savramesh i found one sign that shows bsl will soon come with cdma mobile of 10 digit number and that too with roaming

under heading Local Call and Intra upto 50 kms

u will find Fixed to Cellular/CDMA (10 digit number) Own

That is sign that bsnl will also come with 10digit cdma soon
