Mumbai: Reliance Technology Ventures Ltd., the venture capital arm of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, on Tuesday said it has been named to the Red Herring 2009 Top 100 Global Venture Capital Firms list, the only Indian firm to have made it. The list of finalists also included Indian venture capital firms ICICI Ventures, Nexus India Capital and Helion Venture Partners.

Reliance Technology Ventures, which was launched in 2006, has invested in deals to the tune of over $1 billion so far. Red Herring is a US-based media company that ranks top firms in fields of technology, financing and entrepreneurial activity.

Reliance Technology Ventures, which focuses mainly on sectors such as technology, media & entertainment and telecommunication, has previously invested in firms such as US-based Stoke Inc and domestic online travel website Yatra.com. Yatra was in Red Herring’s Top 100 Startups in Asia list in 2008.
