Vodafone Introduces Local & Std Calls @ 1p/s

Recommended Posts

Source

PATNA: Vodafone, a leading telecom service provider, today launched the one paise per second call scheme for both local and STD calls in Bihar and Jharkhand.

Vodafone's one paise per second call rate facility would be available for both new and existing customers, a company release said here.

The new customers would have to recharge with Rs 14 to get the per second call facility while all the existing subscribers can avail this facility with a one-time recharge of Rs 15 which would also enable them (customers) a full talk time of the same amount (Rs 15).

The one paise per second rate would be available for one year and would also be valid for calls made to any operator across the country, the release said.

They can do it in their new territories not in their strongholds.

Voda should provide 1s/1p for lifetime not just 1 year.

This should also be uniform across the country

If Airtel or Voda were to introduce even RCOM's Simple plans across India, their existing revenues will be hit very much. Hence they will not experiment now. Maybe in new areas, they can still come out with such plans but on a pan India portfolio, we will have to wait for eternity.....

Slowly but surely they would have to match Reliance or Docomo even in their existing circles. Or else they would not get more new additions. See Airtel has planned to increase its subscriber base from 11 cr to 20 crores by 2012. I feel, this will not be possible without introducing per second billing.

i repeat no one can match roaming tariff of reliance except for air tel. but i am not too sure they will be too keen on doing that.

airtel cannot take that risk because GSM network cannot handle the spectrum crunch , their network will be jammed :NOTriste:

Then how can they reach their target of 20 Cr within 2012

A cousin of mine who is in RCOM told me that Airtel will lose Rs 10000 crore from their existing revenues and Voda / Idea will lose more than Rs 6000 crores if ever they try to match RCOM's Simple plans, forget DoCoMo's PPS plan.

Airtel/Voda/Idea will not take such a huge risk with their ARPUs.

So, enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyyy with RCOM's SImple plans....

they will have to increase their infrastructure which will cost them more hence their constraint to reduce tariffs

Yes, Ravi - you are absolutely right....

They will have to choose the lesser devil or the more angel - but then, either way, its only hell for them!!!! :rofl_200: :rofl_200: :Riendo::Contento:

On the flip side, let us enjoy the going as it goes....

all operators are good in no inflation game. and fake activations are always there to achieve such targets
