friends. i called up the c.c and told i want to discontinue my reliance number. so they transfered my call to RETENTION DEPT. i told thm to deactivate my no. bt the retention dept exec. told to continue the service.. he gaved me 300 Rs. discount i.e 100/- Rs per month discount in bill. and told after 3 months he will be giving me some good plans from retention dept..

hence got 300 rs. discount for 3 months.

it is cdma. and i dont want to dissconnect. i got a news from my friend who works in reliance. he told me tht we can get this discount by just telling the retention dept. tht u want to disconnect ur postpaid... then they will give u discount.. so i just gave a shot....and succeeded.

same think happened in SRP 200R which was retention plan.. i have started tht post. and many of us from rimweb has taken the benefit of tht plan... :Riendo:

no yaar. i started the topic SRP200R bt didnt get that plan. 6 mahine nahi hue the... Retention dept Didnt Gave me tht plan... :Equivocado:

Hitesh Ji, you too can try, since you are on their network for many years and in very high rent tariff plan.. Further I remember once in a discussion comparing Prepaid and Postpaid, you said, they haven't given even Rs1 as loyalty discount... Guess, you may get STD @ 50p/min benefit along with the current plan...

I once had a postpaid connection on Airtel for my sister.. After marriage, my sister is going to Bangalore, so I asked them to disconnect the service, without telling the actual reason.. Do you know what their retention department has done @ that time??? They called me and said they have increased the credit Limit to Rs7500/- (WHAT IS THE USE...?? NOTHING imho) from Rs1500 and they are ready to give FREE SIM as addon for calling b/w those 2 numbers @ 10p/min and other Locals (incl Airtel) @ 2Rs... :rofl_200:

Even their retention dept. brain has got decayed with THIRST FOR MONEY... :Riendo:

Well friend, that was atleast two years back... Very recently ten months back, my friend was using Airtel Landline in Madurai... After two months, he wanted to disconnect the same, as he felt it was too costly comparing others... You know what the Retention team tried to offer him??? Convert the Landline to coin-box phone (NO DISCOUNT for INSTALLATION/INSTRUMENT) and NO rent reduction, no lower tariff, no on-net FREE calls,... He rejected the offer and asked the deposit... For the last eight months, he was trying to get the deposit back... BUT THEY HAVE STILL NOT GIVEN HIS MONEY BACK..

These Airtel guys take the Security Deposit for granted... Even their RETENTION team is looking its customers as GOATS (for killing in temple) and DUCKS (you know why :winko:

).. I told him to leave them and think that MONEY gone was given as PENALTY for selecting their service... :rofl_200:

Why donate the money to Airtel?!?! If money is not the object for him, far better to give it to charity than to the likes of Airtel. :GirandoOjos:

Its a fit case for taking to a consumer court and claim the amount with interest + compensation + expenses. Quite likely they may immediately try to settle out of court as fighting the case will take more money than the deposit is worth. Besides, they wont win and will have to pay lot more when court orders a refund.
