@praful I am using videocon D2H since 4 months in Delhi, no issue till date in service and I should tell u this is cheapest DTH in India currently offering all channels only for Rs. 275 per month (Rs. 2900 yearly plan). you can also take the benefit of entry offer like
1390 (cost of stb)+300 (installation charge)+1300 (top up to get 12 months gold+sport pack or 8 months diamond pack)
= 2990 only

do check on their site, they are having different STBs.
The most good thing in d2h is that their packs are very simple.

@konuuerror He is going to use dth on laptop so I think no need to go for TS HD

Videocon has a variety of STB(s) to choose from .

They have a wall mountable STB which cost around 2100 bucks ... which also includes 3 or 6 months free subscription depending on what plan you opt for .

Hi Praful i am using Tata Sky it’s a bit expensive but happy with the service.
My brother is using Airtel and he is also happy with the services.
If u have an airtel postpaid then u might get discount on the connection.
As for Videocon, Dish tv or sun direct these three are economical.
I think sun direct is the cheapest of all, but I would suggest you to go
for dish tv (because it was lunched before sun direct and Videocon)
I haven’t hear reviews abt reliance Big tv so cant comment.
You can take any DTH connection whats imp. is choosing the right plan.
My pick is tata sky or airtel. But in your case choose a DTH which has
The best picture quality as u will run it on pc. one draw back for tata sky is
No zee sports as Dish TV and zee are of the same group so no zee sports for tata
Sky.

Dear Friend prafull, In my opinion Videocon D2H is the best and economical service. I am not using Videocon D2H but told you from the experience of my relatives and friends. I am using Zee networks DISH TV. DISH TV is worst in customer care service, always have loss while recharging (not getting sufficient validity days corresponding to the amount recharged - 5 to 8 days less on every recharge). I have no experience with other DTH, but from my friends heard that TATA SKY - not economical, AIRTEL DIGITAL TV - not economical and not good, SUN DIRECT - economical and good if only malayalam channels are required and not economical for pay channels . (It is the opinion in Kerala and I don't know the situation in other states).

BigTV was the first to launch Full HD, DishTV followed it today.. I am sure, everyone else will also follow suit..

I have been using reliance bigtv for more than a year and plan to change it. Thwy have good quality but their cc and rrecharges are costly... im waiting for videocon to launch their hd service, and im gonna join into their bandwagon.. they have 2, but very simple plans, unlike others where we need to pay extra for more channels...

My choice is videocon, ofcourse for me it is after their HD launch, but since u need for pc, i think u shouild go for it presently only...

But I need to know reviews from actual videocon d2h users...

I need to know following (hope this helps other potential d2h buyers including praful, the opener of this topic),

a) Does it take time to start and show the first channel? (My BIGtv takes atleast like 20-30 secs for startup)

B) Is it easier to swift through channels? (My BIGtv takes ages to load a next channel. In my sister's house, they have Tata Sky, and it is damn fast)

c) Is the remote user-friendly, especially the universal one with which you can control the TV and STB? (My BIGtv remote s**ks. I hate it to the core, plus its BIG in size also... lol)

d) How fast is the recharge done, both online and offline, thru' distributor/agent/telephone call? (My BIG tv scores 100/100 on this thru' online payment. It shows the instant money gets deducted from my credit card)

e) Can we user-define certain channels, like a 'favorites' list? (BIGtv has this feature, but due to regular updates, the favorite lists goes off, once the STB is updating/updated. This way, I have to create a favorite list again, which is again PIA, because the remote is not user-friendly, and it takes ages to get into the setup menu, create list, add channels, etc) DAMN..

f) How is the picture and sound clarity... duh?. (My BIGtv is awesome at this place. If d2h can provide atleast 90% of clarity, i would go for it, and save on the above mentioned problems)

g) I have read it in some other forum(s), that the STB/DVD which d2h has to offer, has some earthing problems? Has anyone faced this issue?

OK, I think the list is pretty huge, but your practical exposure to the actual service/hardware, will help many people in deciding weather to go for d2h or no.

One more request, if possible, do let us know which area (City) is your d2h presently located in. This way, we have a clear notion about area specific advantages/issues.
