Subscriber Additions And Statistics For The Month Of July

Subscriber base data as on 31st July 2010.

Bharti(Airtel) --> 3,176,287(WI) + 139,220,882(WL) = 142397169

Reliance --> 1,195,650(WI) + 113,315,831(WL) = 114511481

Vodafone --> 111,465,260(WL) = 111465260

MTNL+BSNL --> 3,476,418(MTNL-WI) + 5,255,444(MTNL-WL) + 26,682,562(BSNL-WI) + 73,781,448(BSNL-WL) = 109195872

TATA --> 1,215,162(WI) + 74,850,220(WL) = 76065382

Idea --> 70,748,936(WL) = 70748936

Aircel --> 43,296,659(WL) = 43296659

WI --> Wireline

WL --> Wireless

The leaders in the subscriber additions for the month of June are Airtel, Reliance, Vodafone, TATA, Idea, Aircel and PSUs(BSNL+MTNL) in that order.

The overall teledensity is at 58.17

Key Changes

1) TATA has overtaken BSNL in wireless segment to become India's 4th largest wireless operator

2) TATA also crossed 75 million mark

Well.. With current condition of BSNL and aggressiveness of Docomo, this is expected.. Even IDEA can overtake BSNL in coming days, if present condition of BSNL continues...

But BSNL tried hard by giving FREE SIMs saying "Independence day offer", but all in vain (Mainly due to the negligence of the g0vt staffs)..

Tatas may knock vodafone out of the third place in 2-4 years if they IMPROVE their network/service and offer aggresive game changing proportions. But its going to be a herculean task and appear highly unlikely as the market is already saturated.
