Irresistable Deals In Electronics, Gadgets, Mobiles, PC Hardware

:previous:
Major problem with indiatimes shopping as per numerous inputs is that many times they randomly cancel orders for such large discount/higher value deals saying item not in stock (Even when it was shown in stock at the time of order) and then take an inordinate amount of time to process the refunds. One can't be too sure what will happen in each individual case. Haven't come across instances where they defrauded someone of their money totally. Ofcourse lately people also did get their orders delivered and said it's improved. Basically it's not totally in the bracket of Timtara.
If you are risk averse then avoid else go ahead and reap the rewards of risk.
Above prophecy came true.
Had a horrible experience with Indiatimes Shopping.
Ordered a phone worth 12K on 20th March 2013. They did not ship it for many days. Followed it up many times. On 1st April they registered a complaint saying it will be resolved within 2 days. Nothing happenned. Today on 5th April after 15 days from order, i received a call saying they are cancelling the order because the product is not in stock but When i was following up earlier, i was told it's getting delayed because of holidays.
Now for Refund, they are saying it will take more 5 to 10 working days (I am not even hopeful on that front as they usually take much more time then that)
BTW other phone that i ordered from Ebay was delivered within 5 days. Even for refunds from major websites, it's usually credited immediately / within 24 hours.
Guess i am not alone.

Online stores in India are yet to streamline their operations, Flipkart notwithstanding. I had a shirt delivered 35 days after purchase and umpteen follow-ups. The Gargoyle suggests always try finding out the COD tag while making payments.

True. I feel, only eBay like take commission + monitoring quality of service - kind of model would work.

It's simply too difficult to deliver having own warehouse, using Indian couriers, or starting own logistics - not a single direct selling model website has made it big in India yet - even flipkart has become very expensive now and quality of service is degrading.

In eBay model, the presence of third-party who escrows the money makes it difficult for sellers to cheat or delay.

^^

Very TRUE. Most of the time ebay is cheapest, delivery is fastest, money is safest.

Btw, here, we are discussing about the bad experience with indiatimes, but pepperfry is even worst.

Basically, such behavior is not inefficiencies, but actually their business model. The use large chunk of public money without paying any interest.

These low cost battery back up are not upto the mark. My two friends recently bought such power banks. One from Croma and another bought some known brand from local market. Capacity of both declined by more than 60% in less than 6 months.

I will rather prefer buying original spare battery with suitable wall charger for spare battery.
