Motorola Launches Android-Based Smartphone ‘CHARM’ for Rs. 13990

Motorola today announced the launch of a stylishly square and Android 2.1 based 3G smartphone Motorola CHARM for Rs. 13990 in Indian market.

Motorola also ties up with leading GSM service provider Aircel to offer Free Data usage upto 3GB per month and 150 Aircel to Aircel local minutes for prepaid subscribers. To activate the offer one can SMS ‘SMARTPI’ to 54343 from Aircel with Motorola Charm.The Postpaid subscriber also get Free Data Usage upto 1 GB for 6 months.

Motorola CHARM the stylish smartphone pack a punch with unique form-factors. It runs on Android 2.1 and features an innovative BACKTRACK touch panel on the reverse of the phone allows users to smoothly navigate, scroll and make selections without obstructing the display screen with their fingers.

The device fit neatly in your palm or pocket, making it fun and easy to stay connected while on-the-go. They pack seriously big features – like a 2.8 inch full touch display and physical QWERTY keypad – in a compact, pocket-perfect design, 3 Mega Pixel camera with digital zoom, 32 GB expandable memory (2GB card include).

Unique feature of this phone is the Backtrack Navigation Pad on the backside.

This is similar to touchpads found on notebooks.

Theory is that when you are holding the phone naturally, your fingers are there on the backside and you can use the trackpad with the natural grip.

Using the front trackpad would put a strain on your finger as you will have to bend them and it is not the natural posture.

So some help in avoiding Repetitive Stress Injury.
