I'm now using Norton AV which was bundled along with the HP lap that I bought two months back. Recently the 60 days free trial offered ran out and I renewed three days back.

Pros - Clean and simple interface, effective AV, light on memory, provides threat and performance information to help avoid future threats and keep the system running snappy.

I find McAfee pretty good. Have been using since more than two years.

Light on usage. And effective as well.

The best one in my opinion is kaspersky. Excellent anti virus engine. A little premium when compared to other products but worth every penny.. Been using it for a long time and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it.

Windows Securty Essential.

It is FREE and from Microsoft.

I am using it more than 4 years. No issues till now. But you have a Genuine Windows for that.

KasperSky internet security 2012 looks very innovative to me. Specially the Secure DeskTop application where you can launch the unsafe or suspected executable. Quick Scan, doesn't leave any infected item untreated, error free running of system plus light on system resources. Using for more than past 3 years.

Try the 2013 version that has already come out.it is faster, uses less memory.overall just a great internet security suite. Loving it

Refer to the comparison of major Antivirus atĀ https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/windows-7/february-2017/

Top performers are Kaspersky & Norton with 100% detection followed by Avira, Bitdefender & Trend Micro (99%-100%).

Seems you are not aware of av-test.org or av-comparatives.org who test popular antivirus and publish results monthly or quarterly.

You can visit almost any antivirus vendor's site and see their certifications.

You can check the test report yourself at the link in my previous post.
