Reliance Communications Announces 3G Video Call Tariff

Recommended Posts

Reliance Communications (RCOM), India's single largest dual technology telecom operator today announced the Video Calling tariff for its 3G Mobile Services users. Reliance 3G local Video Call cost will be 5 paisa/sec (Rs.3/minute) while STD Video Call will be charged at 7 paisa /sec (Rs.4.20/minute).

With the Telecom Ministry and The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) clearing decks for Video calling on mobile phones, Reliance Mobile announced the 3G Video Calling service with Day and Night tariff structure. The Reliance 3G Video Calling charges are similar to Tata Docomo but not cheap or affordable as state run Pan India 3G Mobile Service operator BSNL and MTNL.

If we compare the Reliance 3G Video Calling tariff with Pan India 3G service provider BSNL/MTNL that its seems that after Tata Docomo now Reliance Mobile threw water over mobile users who had hopes of "Cheap 3G Video Call tariff" from the private operators in India. State run MTNL providing Video Calling at just 1p/sec for other network and 1p/2 sec for OwnNet While BSNL charging 30p to 70p/min.

Here are the Reliance 3G Video Call tariff in detail ATTACHED

Well… I am happy with 3G video calling of BSNL.. In Home circle BSNL charges 70p/min and in roaming just Rs1/min, even for STD video calls in roaming BSNL just charges Rs1/min…

FYKI... Even today Airtel, Vodafone, RCom charges Rs1.50/min for 2G VOICE STD CALLS IN ROAMING IN MOST OF THEIR PLANS... :Riendo::Contento::rofl_200:

Hopefully the charges will come down once competition creeps in and all operators launch full fledged service, until then BSNL all the way :)

Still Reliance is better than Tata Docomo. Reliance proves its worth with better data plans and now with differential video call tariff!
