Reliance Mobile CDMA Data : Plans/Billing Queries

Recommended Posts

I could not find any specific thread for discussion of the various Data plans and billing rates for CDMA phones.

For noobs like me this thread could prove to be a one stop solution to all queries.

At present here are my queries :-

I currently use a Touch Pro. I have the 5 cab installation from Dhiraj for running internet on my phone.

1. Currently my bill shows something like this

Non Discounted Usage

*RM World (in 10 KB) 1979 98.95

Total 98.95

Does this mean my usage is ~197.9 MB? and I have been charged about 98.95 for that data?

My usage usually hovers around 1500-3000 approximately.

2. There are some Window Mobile Plans mentioned here! Are these applicable for CDMA? I was planning on getting the 200MB it seems as though I am not going to gain much from my above shown usage amount/rate

3. Is EVDO available in Reliance? If yes, how can I get it? What are the rates and speeds that one gets?

4. What is the usual Mobile Internet speeds that people are usually getting? I am getting about 150-550 Kbps as tested on Mobilespeedtest.com.

Answers to Query 2 to 4....

2. Yes. Those Windows Mobile Plans are available for CDMA.

3. Two Options For EVDO in Reliance,

-Buy an OMH Sim handset like Samsung Corby, LG 510 Cookie Zip & Others...Get the EVDO activated from Backend...EVDO Plans are here http://www.rcom.co.i...et.html#tariffP

-OR Buy a handset from the listing at RIMweb which says EVDO available in Reliance

4. Speeds for 1x are O.K.

Thanks for clarifying. :)

Just need clarity on #1 now.

When they say usage in 10KB is 1979, does that mean its ~197MB or is it ~19MB??

EDIT: For those using EVDO, what are the Avg speeds people are getting?

:previous: It means you have used 1979 pulses of 10kb each i.e. 19790 KB = 19.33 MB

Thanks for clarifying. Guess I am going to go for 200mb plan for now then :)

EDIT: Spoke to CC for activating 200MB plan, they were asking for IMEI number LOL. Told them I am on CDMA and then they got confused and said they will get back to me in 24 hours :P

Is that Windows Mobile tariff ₹95/200MB available on prepaid ?

Can it be activated on Imported Blackberry 8330 by giving E*N to CC ?

1. The best way is to install 3rd party apps like data counter 3g watchdog from market and monitor your usage.

2. In non EVDO area your plan will not change it will just switch to 1x mode and you will still using your same plan.

3. Again if the current location does not have evdo still you can use 1x and as far as I know whole Mumbai is covered by Evdo of reliance.

4. You can contact the cc over the *222 (Postpaid) and change the plan.

5. Your current plan is windows mobile plan 199 and it gives you 500 MB without NUC. Just make sure the username/password is your mdn but as Hetal bhai is involved I guess you don't have to worry about it :Sorprendido:.

6. Seriously I am not sure about it so would refrain answering it. :hypocrite:
