In case of Tata, its written on UIM card!

For Reliance, you need LG phone and connect it to qpst in diag mode!

As far as I know OMH sim does not exists with MEID they are all ESN based, what say experts.

And yes to read meid in others use LG with qpst or qxdm or CDMA workshop 3xx

Now even OMH uim cards come with MEID

only way to read MEID is connect handset with QPST , CDMA WS etc

Not good like reading ESN

I'm bit confused due to this thread.

I was of the opinion that MEID/ESN is an equipment identifier stored only in mobile phones and not in RUIMs.

RUIMs will have different identifier called UIMID.

Your mobile number will be tied with UIMID in case you own RUIM and not with MEID/ESN of the phone into which you've inserted the RUIM.

The network will not bother about MEID/ESN for RUIM based phones. MEID/ESN of such phones are used only to validate the legality of its existence and not for subscriber validation.

UIM ID = ESN or MEID

Well,I put my OMH Sim card in my Samsung f219 phone and was able to read the MEID easily. All I had to do was just type *#06# and the MEID showed up. Try it out and let me know if it worked for you.

:previous: please check the MEID you got by dialing *#06# with your handset's meid, which it at the back of the phone when you remove the battery.. if its different from the meid of the phone, than the meid displayed is of RUIM..

Its not possible, the meid displayed from *#06#. Its phone's meid for sure!

@Aalok and Sumit

Samsung Mpower 219 displays the FTA MEID with the code *#06#, just like the GSM ones displaying IMEI number.

And the MEID number shown is different from the MEID number of the device labeled behind the battery.

So obviously it is about OMH card right? :)

Simpliest way to confirm is to read the pesn from a nokia phone and tally with that of generated from the meid displayed by samsung phone!

You need to see the com port number in your device manager and then configure the same in qpst. Use XP!
