Upcoming Micromax Android smartphone A70 leaked

Source

micromax-a70-1.jpg

Indian mobile phone manufacturer Micromax is planning to launch two Android devices in the market soon. We have already talked about Android powered Bling 2 here, which will be targeted to female Android lovers, while company will also have a treat for male consumers in the form of Micromax A70.

Bearing looks similar to Google Nexus One, this Micromax smartphone will feature 3.2 inch TFT resistive display, Android 2.2, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, and 1450 mAh battery.

While all the features seem good, resistive display is a big let-down, which was also a big problem in company's first Android smartphone Micromax Andro A60. With resistive screen on-board, we wouldn't expect a price more than 7-8K INR.

There are no other details available right now, but we are expecting that company will soon officially announce the smartphone.

:previous:

Haa again a Resistive touch Android by Micromax... They are actually doing more harm than good to Android, imho... It will give bad opinion to many budget conscious first-time Android users, imho...

Instead they should launch capacitive phones without 3G and/or camera to save cost...

Without camera? Doubt that will happen. I have seen many Chinese origin phones including Micromax with downright unusable cameras. Yet these companies put them there; probably just to make the specs look good. Why don't they just save the money and reduce the price or provide some other feature that is actually usable?

Micromax A70 Android phone with Dual cameras Capacitive Touch Screen Coming next month

Source

Continuing with its strategy of offering affordable handsets, Indian handset maker Micromax will launch an Android 2.2 based dual camera handset A70, a successor to A60, in May.

"A70 will be launched in the third week of May and it will be priced at around Rs 9,000," said sources familiar with the development in Micromax to The Mobile Indian.

Micromax A70 will feature a 3.2 inch TFT capacitive display, a 5 MP rear camera, a VGA front camera and a 1450 mAh battery.

Our sources further said that Mircomax, even after launching A70, will continue with production of A60 as it runs on Android 2.1, doesn't have dual camera and comes at a different price point.

As of now, Micromax A60 is one of the most affordable Android handsets available in the market

Announced way back in August last year, Spice Mobility is finally planning to release Mi-410 Android smartphone in India. Spice Mi-410 is basically a rebranded Huawei X6, which was also announced by Olive Telecom as Olive Smart in February this year but is still waiting to see light of the day.

According to a report in Mobile Indian, Spice Mobility Managing Director Dilip Modi has said that Spice Mi-410 will reach Indian market next month for a price around INR 15,000. He has also added that the smartphone will come preloaded with Android 2.2; on the other hand the same smartphone which is being launched by Olive will have Gingerbread on-board.

Well, none of them has been launched as of now; we will be waiting for June to see if Mi-410 actually reaches the market.

^ ^ ^ QVGA Screen is just a term to describe 320x240 size resolution.. QVGA itself is not a barometer of the screen display quality (However smaller the resolution, higher the chances of difficulty in reading very small text)

For this Spice, It's yet not clear whether it is Capacitive or Resistive Touchscreen.. SWYPE may not be very smooth in resistive screens..

Wait for some time for clear specs to emerge..

Besides difficulty in reading smaller text, icons and stuff would also appear bigger. So basically less "info" can be displayed on screen.

If you are ok with using a stylus, Swypeing may not be an issue on a resistive screen.

As expected Spice MI-270 has resistive touchscreen & No 3G. (It has GPRS Edge). On the other hand, it has Built in 768 MB Memory & 256 MB Ram. Seems to have Mediatech 600 Mhz Processor (Unconfirmed..) http://www.saholic.c...-mi-270-1000483 This website is a Spice Group Venture...

Still it looks like a good value proposition for the Economy Buyer at below Rs 5,000 Cost with Dual Sim, Dual Standby, Android 2.2 Froyo with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 98 gram weight.

The really demanding guys should wait for the reviews for things not apparent...

Really very very nice specs for the money... But I doubt whether they will launch with that price? Once Huwaei Ideos (or other, not sure) proclaimed some good-entry-level specs at very low price of around 6k, but on seeing the demand they increased the price on launching to around 9k...

Lets hope this won't happen to this phone atleast...
