Source

685_1.jpg

The phone, called A1, comes with a 2.8 inch touchscreen and is based on Android 2.2. The phone is very similar to Micromax Andro A60 but has a capacitive touch screen.

Karbonn Mobile has launched its first Android phone in India. The phone is based on the Android 2.2 version, and has a 2.8 inch capacitive touch screen along with WiFi, 3G and Bluetooth.

Company also plans to launch 3 more Android smartphone each targeted at a specific like business executive, student or housewife.

The phone is very similar to Micromax A60 with only major difference being the better capacitive touchscreen that A1 boasts. The phone is priced at Rs 6,999, but should retail in the market closer to the Rs 6,000 figure.

Other difference with Micromax A60 includes later generation Android (A60 is based on 2.1) and therefore supports WiFi Hotspot and ability to store application in external memory. Design wise both the phones are very similar.

Other features of the A1 include Adobe Flash 10.1 version, 600MHz processor, 7.2 Mbps support (3G), a 3.2 MP camera, and 1100mAh battery, expandable memory (up to 32GB) and GPS.

Being an Android phone, standard Android applications and features like Google Map and G-sensor are all available, and so is the ability to download applications from the Android Market.

In a statement, the company said, "Karbonn plans to invest around 5 million US dollars on the marketing and promotional activities of these smartphones, they are expecting their smartphones sales to contribute about 10% to their total volume target. These smartphones will be tailor made to suit the diverse lifestyles of the consumers, so, there will be an Android phone for everyone, be it a business executive, style conscious youth, students or even a housewife".

Micromax A85 Android With 1 Ghz nVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual Core Processor Leaked

Source: Here and Here

Micromax-A85.jpg

Micromax seems to be finally moving from entry-level to high end segment. A new Android smartphone from the company called A85 was spotted on GSMArena today with the detailed specs set.

There is no word on the launch but we would expect company to announce it soon. We are trying to dig up more details, till then we only have the above thumbnail sized image of the smartphone.

Micromax A85 is expected to feature nVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, 3.8 inch 480 x 800 pixels display, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, Android 2.2, 8GB internal storage and 512MB RAM.

Micromax A85 is actually a rebranded K-Touch W700, a Chinese smartphone which was first seen in April. We always knew that A85 was going to be an OEM device but ‘which one’, was the question. So here is the answer. Micromax seems to have got the company to tweak it a little bit, we hope that it is for good.

The specifications are the same. Android 2.2, nVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 3.8 inch display, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM tuner, and microSD card slot.

Coming to the pricing now, the original K-Touch W700 is sold for 3500 Yuan ($535 or INR 24K) in China, but we are expecting Micromax will try to price it more attractively; probably under INR 20K price point. At least after its recent an ad stunt with A70, showing it as an affordable smartphone.

Micromax A85 Android Superphone Press Shots Leaked

Source

Remember Micromax Superphone aka Micromax A85? One of the Micromax's 1GHz powered handset was leaked online recently. Well, we had seen some pictures of the handset but not the entire form factor, that is up until now.

We've just got our hands on a couple of images of this highly anticipated superphone. No other information was provided to us but the press shots give a good glimpse into the superphone.

294724.gif

294725.gif

The press shots confirm a 5-mega pixel camera and a secondary VGA camera. There is weather widget and a android booster shown on the phone which indicates a 43% RAM consumption for 30 tasks (not bad!).

The smartphone sports a 3.8-inch capacitive touchscreen with a 480 x 800 resolution. The super smartphone will run on a Android Froyo OS, but we hope to see a Android gingerbread update available as well.

A follow up to the immensely popular A60 and A70 phones, Micromax A85 will include MP3/WAV/AAC player, MP4/H.263 player, Organizer, Image/video editor, Document editor (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF), Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa integration, Voice memo and Predictive text input.

We don't have any information on battery life but we are hoping for something around 1500mAh, to support gaming, chatting, videos and more.

Spice-Mi-3501.jpg

Spice Mobility has announced its second dual SIM Android smartphone Mi-350 in India today. The smartphone was revealed at a press event in Bhopal.

There is no word on the official pricing, but Mi-350 is expected to retail around INR 8,500. These are some quite decent specifications for an 8.5K smartphone from Spice that also gives you opportunity to use two SIM cards.

Spice also sells Mi-270 Dual SIM smartphone, but it hasn’t really set the market on fire. Mi-350 is likely to go on sale soon and we will let you know as soon as that happens.

PS: We have got to know that Spice Mi-350 is actually a rebranded ViewSonic V350 dual SIM phone, which was first announced back in February this year. Not that it changes anything.
