Any updates on HTC One X AT&T...

Its long that they have comeout with an update on their once flagship phone!

AT&T One X aka Evita has got JB update on 8th of this month. It will still take time as it will be in a phase and will be a week for all users to get access to it. Sor far not success on OTA for my handset. There is a rooted, deodexed version on xda for this update, u can unlock bootloader-root and flash it. rather than going to this update, the benefit of this is that u can roll back to ICS stock and have not issues if u r already rooted/unlocked bootloader

Salora Upgrades Powermaxx Z1 to Android 4.1 OS

However, just like Micromax Canvas II upgrade, you will have to visit Salora service center to get the upgrade.

Salora has 170 service centers across 123 cities across the country and the list of these can be found here. Going forward Powermaxx Z1 will be available with this new update out of the box (once the existing stocks already in stores are cleared).

The update makes this really attractive phone with a massive 3100 mAH battery even better and since the time of launch, even the price has come down to a more attractive Rs 9,999. You can read the review of the phone here.

Salora, launched its first Android phone with Dual SIM PowerMaxx Z1 in January this year.

The phone is slim inspite of massive battery, thanks to 4.5 inch qHD IPS display made with zero gap technology which means better readability in sun, wider viewing angles and slimmer phone.

You also get noise cancellation for better call quality and on top of that it gets very decent hardware with a Cortex-A9 1GHz Dual Core Processor. The smartphone is made of forging aluminium alloy with a special fiber drawing technology.

[GUIDE] Upgrade your Micromax Canvas 2 A110 to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean

Source Thanks comp@ddict

Attention all Canvas 2 owners, Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean has officially arrived for your phones. However, to get the update you need to either take your phone to a Micromax Service Center (and pray that they have heard of the update and have it with them), or install the ZIP via CWM recovery (we’re gonna avoid this method as for this people need to root their phones and install CWM recovery) or just download the official ROM off Micromax’s FTP and flash it yourself. For this guide, we are going to follow Method 3. So get your laptops, USB cable and your Canvas 2 ready. Jelly Bean, here we come!

Upgrade your Micromax Canvas 2 A110 to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean

Step 1

First and foremost, you need to download the Jelly Bean firmware off Micromax’s website. So here’s how you do it.

  1. Go to Micromax FTP page (click)

  2. Login using USERNAME: mxlive & PASSWORD: M!cr0m@xlive

  3. Once inside, navigate to the A110 folder. You’ll find 4 different folders. Download all contend under the folders “DOWNLOAD TOOL“, “DRIVERS“, and from “SW VERSION” folder, download the “V3 Update to Jelly Bean” folder content. The file size is 282 MB.

Step 2

  1. Unrar the Software File you got to any Folder.

  2. Install both the softwares which were under DRIVERS folder. Also install the drivers from here. (for Windows 8 users, you need to allow installation of unsigned software.

  3. Now to go DOWNLOAD TOOL folder and Unzip FLASH_TOOL.zip file.

Now you have the drivers installed (connect phone to PC to check). Also you have the Flashing TOOL that will flash the new Jelly Bean software that you just downloaded. Great, the preparation portion of this guide is done. Now, on to Flashing Jelly Bean on to your Micromax Canvas 2 A110.

Step 3

  1. Open Flash Tool. Enter the directory (address of your folder where you saved your downloaded software update file) in the “Download Agent” line.

  2. Enter the scatter-loading file into the next address line (you will get the scatter file with the FlashTool folder download. Just copy the address link to it (make sure you include the file name in the address as well). The file name will be “MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc” found in the “S9081_MP_F4_B1_IN_MMX_0.16__flasher_user” folder.

  3. Now click on the easily noticeable “DOWNLOAD” button.

  4. Switch off your phone and connect it to the PC via USB.

The entire process takes very less time. After the flashing process is completed, give the phone a couple of minutes for the first boot. After that, enjoy Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean on your Micromax Canvas 2 A110.

Troubleshooting

Here’s what could have gone wrong if you are unable to flash the latest software update:

  1. You didn’t install the drivers properly, or didn’t install them at all.

  2. You didn’t write the complete address of the ROM file.

  3. You didn’t write the complete address of the scatter file.

  4. In either case, your flashing won’t occur. So just check these parameters if you are getting any error. Good luck!

^^^^^

Afaik its for Snapdragon S4 (Dual Krait) based devices only... Eg:- Atrix HD, Razr M, RazrHD, Razr MAXX HD and NOT to TI OMAP based devices like Bionic, OG Razr, OG Razr MAXX, etc.... For them only safe-strap recovery is the way to go...

Install Android 4.3 on your Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505), Ported from Google Play Edition (GT-I9505G)

We have obtained the first Android 4.3 test build firmware for the Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505G). We wanted to test out Android 4.3 but didn’t had the Google variant of the Galaxy S4 with us, so we ported it to our standard Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) and got some outstanding results.

Android 4.3 port from the Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 is fully functional on the standard Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505), there is not even a single thing which isn’t working. We haven’t made any changes to the port, so it’s 100% original with zero changes.

Note:

- This is not flashable through Odin.

- This will void your warranty.

- Don’t attempt this if you don’t have the skills to flash a custom ROM

- You are doing this on your own risk

System details:

Android version: 4.3

Build ID: JWR66N

PDA: I9505GUEUBMFP

CSC: I9505GXARBMFP

Build Date: 26 June 2013

Changelist: 968842

Requirements:

- Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505)

- Custom Recovery

Instructions:

- Copy Google Play Edition ROM to your internal SD Card

- Enter Recovery (Power + Volume Up + Home)

- Do a Wipe/Factory Reset (Necessary due to new Android version)

- Flash Google Play Edition ROM

- Reboot your device!

Verizon Galaxy S4 VRUAME7 Update Available Via Desktop Tool - Blocks Existing Root Methods And Patches Bootloader

Samsung Galaxy S4 owners on Verizon, there's a new update available for your phones. But don't bother checking your Settings menu for an over-the-air prompt: it's only available via the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant after connecting the device to a PC. Standard users should be fine, but rooted users (or those who intend to root or flash a new ROM sometime in the future) should avoid this one. According to several posters on XDA, the VRUAME7 patches existing root methods, and flashes a new version of the locked bootloader that prevents users from flashing a pre-release kernel, effectively blocking another path to root. A similar update may have already gone out to Sprint Galaxy S4 owners. At present, no one has found a way of rooting the new firmware.

At least one XDA user has stated that the update activates the Knox Agent, a Samsung-developed secure boot method intended for "bring your own device" solutions, but also works as an active block for SuperUser applications.

Fortunately, the update seems to be limited to Verizon's proprietary Software Upgrade Assistant (available via a virtual CD drive when you plug the Galaxy S4 into a PC) or Samsung's own Kies, so it's fairly easy to avoid at the moment.

Update Being Pushed To Three Motorola DROID RAZR Models To Close Bootloader Unlock
Avoid taking this update if you have an unlocked bootloader and want it to remain that way.
An update is coming to three Motorola DROID RAZR models. The precise units are the Motorola DROID RAZR HD, the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD and the Motorola DROID RAZR M. A leaked internal memo detailing the update, is more interesting. Apparently there is a Kernel exploit that was allowing hackers and modders to unlock the bootloader on the three devices. Motorola is closing it down.
