Thanks dipan bhai,

this is what i do..

created a Titanium backup pro

created a clockwork mode backup

installed Syndicate Frozen Rom 1.1.1 (xda) (based on EC05)

tried to restore apps/data from titanium backup pro.. but it got stuck every time i run restore (missing apps + System data)

only 1 app used get installed and titanum backup progress bar froze.

so now im back to my stock EC05 (restored from cyanogem mod) untill i figure to restore apps/contacts/sms from stock to syndicate

Abhishek,

Open TB and before restoring anything click the menu key. Now click Preferences, App Installer Mode and change that to Auto INDIRECT, by default it will use Auto, Direct. Now try to run a batch restore.

Also I strongly recommend when you take TB backup take app and system data backup separate and restore separate, as restoring system data often causes battery drain on Syndicate.

Also are you separately backing up contacts, call logs and SMS because TB does not backup those. Use my backup pro for all, or SMS backup and restore for SMS, and google sync/g-backup full for contacts and call logs. All are on the android softwares thread.

Abhishek why did you need to backup contacts manually bhai, google sync is easiest way just signin to your Google account and it does it.

If you want to have an alternate option, try my backup pro for contacts/SMS/call logs/homescreen settings etc., extremely simple GUI interface, and it also allows backing up online. Worth the 250 INR but apk also on forum.

Regarding SRF not having microphone, what is the exact issue? And I guess it is better to post the Epic specific issues in the Epic thread. Let us keep this thread for general Android OS.

Sougata da thanks.

Vinay ji thanks for the guide.

Dipan, thanks for UOT kitchen, its so convinient.

I found reason for framework-res.apk problem - it needed to be zipalign-ed

But neatness I got from UOT kitchen was not there in my png edits.

Can't say if it should be a part of beginners guide.

But found it useful, you may need it sometime.

Ever bothered to see the contents of your Nandroid Backup, i.e. the img files created during Nandroid (data.img, system.img)

Here is a small guide and application "unyaffs-x86-win.rar" for that.

Download the attached file and extract to any folder on your PC.

Place the "img" (data or system) file in the same folder where the file "unyaffs.exe" is placed.

Go to command prompt on your PC (windows->run->cmd)

Go to the path of the folder where "img" file and "unyaffs.exe" are placed.

Run "unyaffs", all the contents (data/app) of your "img" file will be extracted to that folder.
