Now android also will no longer remain secular.

It will be communal. Further Rajdeep Sardesai, Barkha Dutt, Sagarika Ghose will debate why android growth model is wrong!

(Replace Gujarat/NAMO with android in following as our media regularly do in everything)

Vibrant android is a false claim. android development model is faulty. Despite android growing consistently year after year, the growth is not inclusive. Despite the fact that today one can buy a lowest price android at Rs 4-5K, there is a deliberate attempt to keep the specs of such entry level handsets lower and it suggests malnutrition in android. Such huge growth of android suggests that all android users have become fascists and communal. Though android model is very successful, how can it be replicated nationwide because android is polarizing. Android has to take every section of the society like iOS, Windows Mobile together. To prove the secular credential if android can't wear a topi, atleast an iOS lockscreen is must.

Preparation to prohibit Android phones in India..!

^^^^

Don't believe such rubbish articles now days published on daily basis in such local news papers. They have completely become unreliable (when it comes to news which concern larger audience) Article mention Kapil Sibbal, but nowhere it mentions source of news. I have a doubt, if Kapil Sibbal knows this himself. Otherwise, he wouldn't have sent 2 Aaakash tablets to Modi.

Banning Android phone won't help, as internet was available on nokia / bb / apple phones as well. So, eventually Govt will have to stop all other OS, eventually taking this country to landline era !! A possible, strategy to keep BSNL into business :)

Wondering since many days that what is the actual brand. Lava or Xolo. SOME say both are different some use them interchangeably. It just struck me that like Samsung GALAXY , Nokia LUMIA, Micromax CANVAS, is XOLO also a range of handsets from Lava?

Pardon me if that was too obvious but I was seriously confused since many days

Why Congress may win yet again:

By Akhilesh Dahiya Someone's interesting take:

Read carefully again and again, and understand!

Reasons why Congress is winning for the past 65 years and why it will win in the future:

(A view Point)

Currently, on an average (over states) there are:

15% Muslims, 8% Christians, 7% Others and 70% Hindus.

That means: out of 100 people, there are 70 Hindus, 8 Christians, 15 Muslims and 7 others.

Voter registration is as follows:

90% of Muslims, 90% Christians and 60% Hindus and 90% Others.

This means: out of 100 people, 42 Hindus, 14 Muslims, 7 Christians and 6 'Others' will register for vote.

Now, interesting point

Out of the registered voters having voter ID or at least having interest in selecting their representative.

Have a look at the number of turnouts:

50% Hindus will vote, 90% Muslims will vote, 90% Christians will vote and 90% others will vote.

This means: Ultimately 21 Hindus will vote, 13 Muslims will vote, 6 Christians and 5 'Others' will vote during

election and these 45 (45%) people are responsible for selecting the representative and deciding the future

of our dear Great mother land (India!!!)

Now see Out of these 45 people of total population who votes for whom!

It is highly likely that out of 13 Muslims, 10 will vote for Congress,

Out of 6 Christians, 5 will vote for Congress and

Out of 5 others, 3 will vote for congress.

it means: Congress will get 18 non Hindu votes, BJP may get 1 Muslim or Christian and 1 others vote.

So what BJP has got? BJP has got 2 non Hindu votes!

Other parties, that are third front, may get 2 Muslim or Christian and 1 vote from others. That is, 'Others'

may get 3 non Hindu votes.

VERY IMPORTANT

Coming to Hindu votes:

Out of 21 Hindus. > If 5 vote for Congress, 10 vote for BJP and 6 vote for other parties

Final result will be:

Congress 23 votes, BJP 12 votes, other parties will get 9 votes.

This has been the trend since 1990, therefore, Congress do not bother for Hindu votes!!!!

Congress loses in States where the Muslims do not vote for them.

If Congress scares minority from majority, which is easy in the name of "secularism", their 90% work is done........

and they have been doing so religiously.........

It is highly likely that the trend will continue and may vary by few percent

and the Congress will remain in Power, as minority population increases, for

the next 100 years..

So what is the Mantra to thrash congress and defeat Islamic Terrorism?

1. Register yourself for Voter ID;

2. Get the Voter ID as soon as possible;

3. Do not go for picnic and picture during Election Day;

4. Vote for nationalist and patriotic leader or better from the worst, on Election Day;

if we will celebrate the picnic and go for picture on election day, our children will not be alive to celebrate all these nice moments!

Our dear mother land is calling us, vote this time,

Share it with as many as people you can!

Too simplistic a calculation not taking into account that some constituencies are minority dominated while others are not.

Ours is a first past the post voting system so in total the percentage of votes does not matter - what matters is the number of seats won.

For example the left front while in power never won more than 45% of votes while sweeping the seats at the same time. Last time when trinamul won the left polled around 37% votes. Not a huge difference right? Wrong. Because even if I poll 40% votes in a constituency and come second to someone who polled 41% votes - it is effectively same as polling zero votes because I am losing the seat. Eventually the left won only 1/3rd of the seats they had earlier won.

Bottom line is - total seats won matter not total votes polled. Which throws this calculation out of the window.

And also this is a propaganda to vote for certain patriotic leader who will apparently end Islamic terrorism. Anyway enough of a rant.

Enjoy Independence be abiding Citizen

Somebody asked me today, why are you not inspired to be Indian and what have you done for the country to ask such a question?

I replied that what I and many other educated Indians like me have done for the country is that we have paid taxes highly unproportional to the facilities that we get in return. We have provided employment and then be exploited and harassed by 100s of govt. departments on a daily basis. We have provided voices of reason only to be ridiculed by the ones in power. And STILL we go about our business on a daily basis contributing to this nation's growth and trying to be better human beings and inculcate the feeling of standing when the national anthem and flag is unfurled in our children.

Very little inspires me today but still I am proud to be Indian because that was my destiny.

I don't know about educated indians propensity for honesty in tax payments but in india usually only the salaried class pay the taxes fully (Because they have no option).

Here is some revealing statistics:

Out of 120 Crore plus population of india, as of March 2012, there were only about 3,32,000 individual taxpayers who declared taxable income of more than 10 Lacs across india. In reality only one metro like mumbai will be having more individuals than that figure.

XOLO was the brand created by Lava for world's first intel atom processor based handset. Since that wasn't too successful in the market, they are using it now for android handsets also.

That's quite a sweeping statement. Do you have any facts to prove your point. There are many honest business tax payers who pay hundreds of times more tax than a salaried person and get the same facilities. Salaried Tax payers account for a minuscule part of the total taxes collected by the govt. and is far far less than paid by a business which pays excise, sales tax, income tax, service tax etc.

I said usually. That does not mean there are no honest business tax payers. There are many but the proportion compared to salaried class is lower.

Your basic assertion about what honest tax payers get in return is valid but the govt does not want to do the hard work. There was a tragic incident few days back where some Mr Garodia from Mumbai who was the country's highest individual taxpayer in 2009 could not prove he had Rs 25,000 as he failed to get a solvency certificate in a case and as a result was denied bail!

^ just one correction: the figures for "individual taxpayers" does not include businesses.

However, your point stands that probably most of the business owners should still be in above 10 Lac pa bracket as individuals. But they have options to show income as dividend or to get their expenses done by their companies etc while salaried taxpayers are the worst hit as they have no such option.

On the other hand the businesses owned by these business owners already pay 33% tax (even if it is on their bottom line i.e. after expenses, unlike individuals who pay on their top line). Avoiding corporate tax for a business, even a small business, is no longer possible any longer with MAT and interconnected govt depts, you can only optimize it a bit and it hurts the owners too when they get nothing in return for paying huge taxes and providing employment and taking the risk of running a business.

Yes, a huge amount of informal businesses don't pay taxes but I guess they would anyway fall well below 10 lac income levels.

Businesses themselves pay enough taxes ( I am not talking about VAT / EXCISE etc, only INCOME TAX). Reluctance of business people - though it is illegal - is understandable. They believe that their businesses have already paid taxes and businesses earns from hard work of entrepreneurs and owners, now paying taxes for money they withdraw or earn out of business should not be taxed.

If you look at statistics most SME pays huge amount of taxes with respect to turn over which may be amongst highest in world.

Businesses can not earn on their own businesses relies on intellect and hard work of entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs are responsible in providing far more employment than that of MNC and LARGE sector. If you look at statistics then SME defaults far lower amount of loans then that of ORGANIZED sector.

One of the most important contribution of SME to society is employment generation. Wiser government should concentrate more on employment generation rather than tax collections from SME. There are ample of statistics available about employment generation by SME V/s LARGE ENTERPRISES per capital invested, land grabbed and promises made. :-)

If we leave aside above debate on how much genuinely people pay "real" taxes. Problem will remain even in that case. Since, country's lawmakers has (purposefully) forgotten the fact that People's money has to be used for people's welfare & nothing else.

If you see many of the expenditure pattern in last few years, it is horrible for a third world country.

someone spending 1000+ cr on elephant statues in a city, whereas more better could have been a reliable / economical public transport system or better roads.

Someone spending 2000 + crores on free laptops (as promised in election), whereas more better could have been give these money to those govt school teachers to motivate & create good quality students.

Someone announcing 1 Cr / 5 Cr / Free house to some cricketer ( on winning some CUP), whereas more better could be to have a new stadium or few tennis courts for common people. (if space is the limitation).

Some one announcing free "made it india" tablets to lakhs of students, wheres more better could have been instead just equip the school with a very good library facility.

We announce Moon mission / Mar Mission etc, whereas when a Naval sub (that too bought from Russia), sunks, we rush to Singapore to salvage it. Same thing happend in last Dec 2012, when Delhi brave girl was taken to Singapore for medical treatment. A country of 120 b people..

I am a salary class person & compulsory have to pay the taxes (they take it away before it comes in my hand !! - TDS). But, I find it disturbing always that, these idiot class of lawmakers have found out stupid avenue to waste our hard earned money..

Better & highly fictional model is - just take some 5 to 10% taxes from all for defense / policing (necessity) & make everything chargeable, like parking, using roads in city, using water, electricity, dumping waste, using public garden, using public transport etc etc.

Very well said kshah and silent_god.

That was my point exactly rather than a debate who or who does not pay tax or who pays more tax. The motivation for paying taxes and enthusiasm of an Independent India vanishes after seeing these idiots destroy our hard earned money on stupid schemes and vanities and gross mismanagement of our funds by the central and state govts. That a entrepreneur earns by his intellect and hard work is overlooked, a aspiring and brilliant child's seats in medical/etc. colleges reserved for far less deserving candidates, sycophancy and corruption leading people to the top are just few of the things which don't inspire me to feel enthused that our country is free and that India is on the right path....

This is a must read for all.. It highlights the short comings of govt policies and well suited for the discussion going on here...

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that congress's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on congress's plan". All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Take example of Zimbabwe. Govt gave lands to black after taking bak from white farmers. Now everybody is billionaire in Zimbabwe but the problem is that even a loaf of bread costs billion.

Interesting conspiracy theory though it does not fit with basic economic principles, the actual data is hard to ignore suggesting massive rupee depreciation against US Dollar before every election since 1984 except in 2004 when rupee appreciated. Look at the graph below!

The exception may be due to different party in power at the centre. In 2004, it was BJP while in the most other cases it was Congress. Further from 1989 to 1991, none of the govt completed its 5 year terms.
