A brilliant post and a superb modification.

Can you confirm what other cdma world phone can be modified like this.

I am sure if this can be done to most such handsets then ppl might soon

prefer to buy only these. As they ll be the only kind which accept

cdma & gsm cards in same slot.

Tata might not be using 10 digit mobile number for user id & password.

Someone using Tata data may tell, what are the userid and password for CDMA apn settings.

By the way guys, apart from the CDMA RUIM/GSM SIM slot which can accomodate either, what is so special about this phone (Incredible 2) which makes this the only handset which can accept any SIM/RUIM in India - CDMA or GSM.

Is it the fact that China Telecom use the same phone in China & have developed a ROM for it which supports the same parameters for CDMA APN as the ones used in India by Reliance/Tata/MTS?

If we forget dual CDMA/GSM capability & just take into account the CDMA capability, is it just the APN capability (with PPP phone number option) which decides whether any foreign CDMA phone can be used on India CDMA networks with working data?

@joee77, hi, can you share a screen shot of the APN settings entered by you for Tata OMH CDMA.

I have tried 2-3 different settings by now (internet / wapuser) but none of those worked for me in Tata Haryana Circle.

@Tarun Bhai --- Settings are 100% same as Reliance except for username & password. He went to TATA Hub, Changed his OMH Card & got internet/internet as username & password. He got handset from me, Hence I know.

May be its a RUIM issue, Get it changed. Visit TATA Docomo CDMA office.. :)

Thanks Kapil bhai & joee77, I will check and revert back.

There is another very strange issue I am facing.

HTC Dinc2 is not detecting any Sim.

I tried 5 different CDMA/GSM Sims on Stock as well as Chinese Roms.

In Stock Rom - whenever is select GSM mode in Preferred Networks, It says there is no sim card in device, device will switch to cdma mode.

In Chinese Rom - I don't even get option to select the preferred network, as the sim is not detected.

I even tried pushing a pc of paper with sim in the sim slot, assuming that there is gap between sim and sim reader.

It also didn't helped.

Any ideas, what can the issue?

I feel its Hardware issue. coz even if phone is NOT unlocked, You will get a message when a SIM is Placed in slot.

Check Settings ->security -> disable SIM Lock -- If your Phone is unlocked, You will get "SIM lock disabled".
